When we think of “great men”’in US History, we often don’t consider their children and what became of them. Theodore Roosevelt Jr is one of those children who worked hard to establish his own legacy. He was the only general to land at Normandy with his troops and earned a Medal of Honor for his actions on Utah Beach. He died of a heart attack less than 5 weeks after the invasion much like his famous father. This book details his own legacy and how he earned his own place in history.

I liked it. It covered TR and many other Roosevelts almost as much as it covered Theodore Roosevelt JR. But I found that interesting also and it shows how family greatly shaped his life.

Ted Roosevelt is now one of my heroes. This story of his life was fantastic and if it were not all true, then I would be very hard pressed to believe the exploits and caring nature of not just Ted but all the Roosevelts of Sagamore Hill. The story covered alot of ground and I applaud the author for being thorough an entertaining as well. My only gripe was the omission at times of detailed dates and years when an event happened. He did a great job most of the time, but I did find myself having to piece together when the chapter or section was taking place. That aside, I would recommend this book to any person who is interested in the history of our country from the 1890s to WW2. Also, more people have to be educated on just how great a family this was.

An easy entertaining book on the life of a son of a famous American president. Often, we only know about the famous people but little about their children. Theodore Roosevelt Jr. He accomplished nearly as much as his father and was tremendous military leader in WWII. This book shows what real courage is and what it means to be a true patriot.

Took me an awful long time because life drew me in other directions. I loved this book. It was very well written and organized. It's somewhat of a random choice for me considering I knew next to nothing about him when I started but am thoroughly delighted I put in the time to learn about this amazing and relatively unknown person.

A well-written biography of the son of TR - Theodore Roosevelt, Jr. Like his father, an adventurer, politician and war hero.
