This is yet another book about the Japanese secret of Ikigai. The author tells us the Okinawan's concept of finding the purpose of life. The power of Ikigai to change our lives and the pursuit of uncovering the Ikigai is also discussed by the author in a concise manner.

Finding your ikigai in order to live a happy life. It really felt good reading this book. It’s simple, and such a refreshing book. So, the book talks about finding your passion, that may be easily found by some, might be difficult for some. But it’s worth taking time since the reward itself will be doing what you love. There may be roadblocks in life, this situation, this very situation right now may not be ideal for you, but it’s not supposed to stop you from finding your ikigai ,since these setbacks let you find answers for your most difficult situations. And the author talks about savouring the moments, living the moment. And gives some examples of Okinawa people to reiterate his points.

It’s a good book. Happy to read it. Grateful ☺️.

I very much like the concept of ikigai and may explore it further - in a proper book; this pamphlet comes across as shallow and riddled with cliché. And the narrator sounds like he just wants to get it over with.

It is a quick guide to the philosophy of the Japanese ikigai. It highlights its purpose and the most important steps/tips towards reaching it. For a rating, i cannot really give one since it is really short but if you are interested in ikigai and want to have some basic knowledge about it, i do recommend this book.

Awful narrator – I mean he sounded like an auto read program. And you can find what it means by looking at one graphic, so this book seems like a waste of time.
It is the intersection of your passion, your mission, what you’re good at and what you can get paid for doing … plus some others.

Ikigai the Japanese secret to a long and Happy Life A Book by Albert Liebermann and Hector Garcia.
I was having this Japnese Translated book with the Chinese Bookmark which was gifted to me by my Chinese Teacher Shao Miao💕😁
Ok So
"Ikigai" It's a self-help book it's my third self help book, I found many things similar and also the repetition of some ideas.
Yet I intrigued towards this book due to its title, I was so curious to have my hand on it so I just had on it. You know all the self help books always procure some wisest suggestion on how to control on worries and work on life's aims. Alike, this book is the great guidance for finding one's Ikigai Still it has lot of different stuff than other self-help books.
Ikigai means to search the meaning of life, every single entity suffers, frets in the long struggling journey of the life to figure out the dilemma of their existence. But how can we make our existence fruitful, how can we find our Ikigai, how can we find a way to hapiness? All the answers of these questions are present in this book.
I have found some striking facts in this book when I got to know about the japnese Island of Okinawa where people live for the longest period of time where all the people live more than 100 years none dies there under the age of 100.
The secret of their longevity and healthy life is their Ikigai, their set of rules, a pattern of leading a peaceful and happy life. I got goosebumps to know their way of living, their high standards of working, their rich meals and the most importantly their excercising routines. I feel wondered to know that they don't have the word "retire" in their dictionary. They prefer to work till the last breathe of their life. They believe retire means when you leave this world. Existence means working, as every machine needs fuel to function human body needs to work to function. The book is about restoring, reversing, rebuilding, regaining, reshuffling, restarting the pattern of life which can make your life more interesting and happy. It tells and focuses on every tiny detail of human life which is always pondered redundant by humans. Whereas, the tiniest details hold the biggest conclusions of the life. Yet we people who are so indulged in technology, we forget to appreciate , enjoy and experience little things in life. Little things can make great changes and this book focuses on those little things which are extremely needed to heed in our daily life routines.
The book states the simple 10 Ikigai rules which can completely transform anyone's life. It tells to be active, to give time to yourself, to fill your stomach 80%, to surround yourself with positive company, to work for your physical health and shape, to smile, to connect with nature, to say thanks for the boons, to live, laugh and love the present moments, to follow your Ikigai.
Searching and following one's Ikigai is the significant message of this book.
Reading this book is kind of revision and reminder about one's daily routine, which can be reformed and altered easily. Once you have found your Ikigai you will get, create and use the best of it.
I found this book quite motivating and helpful I would like to rate it 8/10.

Ps: I have found my Ikigai and still in search of the better version of my Ikigai.☺️🤩

Ikigai this ikigai that. FINE I'LL READ IT. I have a love and hate relationship with Self Help books and the key to enjoy one (I've realized) is to not over do it by reading only that genre alone and picking it up only when you desperately feel like it. That's exactly what I did this time.

While I don't enjoy being told what to do and what not to do (NO MATTER HOW IMPORTANT IT IS FOR ME TO KNOW THAT), reading such books at the right time can help you take a step back and re-evaluate things in your life and redefine your purpose everytime you are feeling either overwhelmed or underwhelmed by the world.

Again with a message that some of us might be aware of already but helps as a great reminder when we lose our footing.

4/5⭐

Ikigai is a Japanese concept that means your 'reason for being.' 'Iki' in Japanese means 'life,' and 'gai' describes value or worth. Your ikigai is your life purpose or your bliss. It's what brings you joy and inspires you to get out of bed every day.

I finished the audiobook it’s a short and concise book and an absolute recommendation.
I will keep re-listening to it.
The other books like these have 200-250 pages of some nonsense but this book managed to express everything in a more concise and short manner.

Demasiado corto y superficial, pero bueno para saber qué es ikigai. No hay ni información sobre la autora ¿Esto cuenta como lectura para marzo asiático? No lo sé

My first impression of the book is not good. The intro sounded biased. There's no way one individual can say that one specific group (in this case Okinawans people) are happier and live better lives. A bit stupid in my opinion, but I read this book anyway. I only have shot that part out there.

The rest of the book, however, is good. I think everyone can learn something from it. This is the first non-fiction book about finding happiness that actually impressed me. This may sound like I'm and feel free to think so because most of the things the author talks about are something I already felt, hear and do. And no, it's not because of me, but because a lot of what the author talked about is what my husband often says to me and to the people he speaks to. Of course, he doesn't use the term "Ikigai" but instead uses enthusiasm among other words. That is a world we both dream of.

Ikigai is basically about, enthusiasm, taking chances on your passion, gratitude, relax by taking life easy and enjoying it and stay positive.

⭐️ ONE STAR!!! (and that’s generous)

What the hell is this crap?!
No, seriously—what is this? I picked up the audiobook version of this book, and not only did it sound like it was narrated by an AI with a low battery, but the content itself felt equally lifeless. It was short, so I powered through (because I’m stubborn like that), but wow… this was painful.

The title promises the “secret” to living a joyful, meaningful, healthy, and long life. What I got instead was a vague, surface-level rehash of motivational poster clichés, delivered with all the excitement of a white crayon.

Standout elements? None. Zip. Zilch. Nothing stuck, nothing inspired, and nothing I’d ever bring up again unless I was warning someone not to waste their time.

Would I recommend it? Not even to my worst enemy. Okay, maybe to them. But only out of spite.

If you're genuinely curious about Ikigai, go with any other book. This one? Pretend it never happened.
