My super sweet best friend gave me this book because she was also reading it and loved it so much and thought I’d also love it, and I did <3! Thanks again Tammy!!
This book covers a lot of different things, not super deeply, but definitely a really good introduction that gives you a clear idea of the different topics relating to practices of modern mystics and just general self care techniques like aromatherapy, Crystal healing, herbalism, manifestation, yoga, meditation, etc. I also like how it points out that not all these methods in the book are for everyone, and that it suggests maybe just trying a few that call to you or seem like something you would like (such as if you like music a lot, maybe try some of the sound healing videos or using one of the instruments listed and see how it effects you for yourself). I was actually able to learn a lot reading this and it was written in such a way that I kept wanting to read more, which is not typically the case for me with non fiction reads. The illustrations are also sooo gorgeous and alluring.
This book provides a good overview of a lot of practices. I like that it encourages you to really explore what you feel drawn to and leave the rest. I found it useful as a starting place to explore certain practices further.
This might be OKAY for a beginner. There are certainly many ideas written in a very accessible way. However there is no bibliography so the reliability of the content is questionable. I have been a magick practitioner for some time now and disagree with many of the correspondences written in this book. If you read this book, you MUST cross-reference.
Overall, this could be a good introduction to diverse subjects in magick, but only use this as a guide to see what practices you are drawn to and find other resources on those subjects.
A good introduction to a lot of spiritual non traditional ideas, but it was a lot of stuff I already know. I liked the stuff on Numerology but the rest was a very basic summary. Just think I was past needing this book, someone just starting to learn about magick might really enjoy.
