As someone who has identified as Wiccan for two decades I did enjoy reading this book. Having worked at a public library and read many books on witchcraft and herbalism from San Francisco, Oakland, Brooklyn and New York collections I found Plant Magic surprisingly well researched. The author explores many different approaches, heritages and lineages of witchcraft and makes it very easy for anyone to explore a once occult or hidden energy. Ally does a great job of combing through complex and sensitive history to create digestible spells and rituals for a wide audience. Truly anyone will benefit from introduction of plants and healing herbs to their diet, beauty routine or home and this book makes that very possible.

Another unique attribute to this book is in that the photos are beautiful, intentional and uplifting. Most books on this topic have photos resembling random clip art, but these are well considered and applicable to the content. I keep a copy at my desk at work for people to flip through and I keep a copy at my home. The book has initiated many inspired conversations and allowed me to introduce the less obvious subtle realms in nature to those I interact with.

This is such a great informative introduction into herbology! Over exceeded any expectations I had, and I could tell a lot of hard work and care was put into this guide, what a great follow up from her first book! I’ll be gifting this to friends for sure 🤩

Beautiful book not only the photos but the spells. This is an amazing spell book for both beginners and seasoned witches. I love that the book is mostly about the projects. It doesn't have too much repetitive information like in most books. It does give some info for those who are new to witchcraft but doesn't go on and on. Very unique spells that I have never seen anywhere else and I have been practicing for over 40 years. I would recommend this book to all witches. Definitely a must have in your collection!

This book should be re titled plant magic for the rich witch. This would scare a beginner out of practice. There is no depth to the book, just a way to get new practitioners to buy a bunch of items. Overall, save your money check out the penniless pagan for help.

A friend of mine has always been passionate about how to use herbs to manifest, heal, and protect, so coming across Ally Sands' book has helped me better understand and learn more about this way of life. Yes, it's not everyone's cup of tea and we tend to hate on the things we don't understand/think are weird, but reading this book has given me a new found appreciation. Plus, I absolutely loved that along with her own remedies, she includes further explanations into the rituals and how setting our intention and clearing our thoughts, brings the best atmosphere. Being vastly less knowledgeable than even a beginner, this book was a good foundational focal point for me to grow.

2.5 stars. Well, it certainly is for beginners. There's almost no depth whatsoever, and the majority of the spells follow the formula of "infuse your intent into the herbs, then bottle/bathe in/wear the herbal infusions." There is no information about not using certain crystals in liquid since some dissolve.

I appreciated the author's notes about herb conservation and smudging being appropriation. Overall the book is an okay starting point for learning how to define and focus intentions, but further research is absolutely needed.

I feel like this author did a really great job at expressing the way they interpret all of the parts of their spellcrafts and rituals. Even when I wasn’t personally drawn to the oil, amulet, etc I was reading about, I feel like I was able to learn a lot about personal style in witchcraft from this one. Def wanna buy it

A good starting point for anyone who's into mysticism, herbalism, self care, and/or tea remedies. Some great examples of how to blend herbs, plants, and intention to help sooth aches and pains both mental and physical.

I don't think this is something I'll need on my shelf for the future.
