Rate this book
The Bock Saga is the story of mankind as passed down through the generations of the Bock family, whom, according to Ior Bock, was the keeper of an ancient oral tradition that sheds light on the time period from the beginning of prehistory -- also called "Paradiset" -- to the present time. It begins with the first two people dwelling on this earth and ends with the untimely and tragic death of Ior Bock in 2010. It covers a huge time span and an enormous number of events have taken place since then. The Bock Saga narrates this all in great detail. It is, in short, an enormous story…

As i love alternative theories on history and I happen to be a Swedish Speaking Finn, The Bock Saga was right up my alley. The man (Ior Bock) that originally told the story was also a Swedish Speaking Finn himself, and created a public interest and debate in 1984 when he claimed that his family line (Boxström) had kept an old oral storytelling tradition that gives insight into the pagan culture of Finland.

The short story on 264 pages, written by a friend to Ior Bock, still provides you with an enormous alternative tale about the human reproduction, its rituals and the origin of the language and its alphabet. If you're familiar with Finland and some locations in the country, you will find this saga even more interesting! You see similarity with the Finnish Kalevala and Nordic mythology, but with major imaginitive twists.

I'm fascinated with the legends importance in the Bock-family and how it held the family together generation after generation. I believe the importance's of the Saga's not about if it's true or not, it's about how the saga has brought people together through time.

Kinda like the Norse Genesis but with a bunch of weirdos sucking themselves off. God help us if this is half true.
