Nesta Tuomey is married and lives in Dublin with her family; educated at the Sacred Heart Convent, Leeson Street and the National College of Art, she worked as an air hostess with Aer Lingus. She started writing for radio,and her plays and short stories have been broadcast by BBC and RTE. A winner of the John Power Short Story Award at Listowel and the Image Oil of Ulay Short Story Competition, her short stories have also been published widely in magazines. Nesta Tuomey's one-act play Whose Baby won the O.Z. Whitehead Play Competition in 1996,her first novel Up Up and Away, depicting life in an Irish airline, was published in 1995 and her second novel, Like One Of The Family,a moving story of an Irish family, of passion, tragedy and love, was published in 1999. Her latest book 'Holding Pattern' an airline story set in the 70's just out now in ebooks and paperback on Amazon.
