The Very Hungry Caterpillar by Eric Carle is an informational book about the process of a caterpillar to butterfly life. This book starts by showing the caterpillar as a little egg where he then is born, it shows him get bigger and bigger and all the things he eats until he is then a big fat caterpillar. Then once he is big enough he then is ready to become a butterfly where he then makes his own cocoon and then ending where he comes out as a beautiful butterfly.
When discussing the pictures of the book it had very simple pictures as it is written for bedtime stories for young children along with made for new readers. I also believe they used younger simpler language and separate the words and the pictures because it was made for younger readers as they are working on reading comprehension and understanding the elements of books, something I think this book will help beginning readers with.

This book is a classic! With it's colorful pictures and easy to follow plot, this story shows the beautiful life cycle of a caterpillar and it's transition into a butterfly! This book is fun for young children and helps them learn about life cycles and change. It is also great for counting and is easy for the kids to follow. I love this book and would recommend it to others!

This book is very colorful and would be appealing to children's eyes! I love how the book has holes in it to show where the caterpillar ate all of the foods! He then found himself to be a lot bigger than when he first started to eat. He crawled into a cocoon for a couple of weeks and came out a beautiful butterfly!

This picture book age ranges from 3 years old and up. This book is a beginner book, that focuses on the alphabet. “The Very Hungry Caterpillar” is about a caterpillar who is born and had to search for food. Throughout the picture book the caterpillar searched for food. This book is a very good “starter” book. This has a lot of visuals that would catch the attention of the children. This also teaches them about evolution and about what organisms eat.
