This review applies to the 1997 spiral bound edition. For serious advice on heart rate based training, I found this book to be a great reference. She goes into detail about the effect on the runner like no other book that I have read. "Lactic acid junkies like me love hanging out in the Redline zone because we get faster while training at the same heart rate or intensity. ... Z5 is a dangerous place because if you don't come visit often enough you can't readh your peak, but if you overstay your visit your body won't invite you to return. ... The Redline zone is feed by many and misunderstood by more." (Chapter 11 first 2 pages in that chapter.)

For general reference I use Tim Nokes. For HR based training I used this book.
