I started reading this and about halfway through, realized I had already read it once. The writing is excellent and fast-paced. I felt empathy for Lucien as it seems he is just really misunderstood and all of his offspring have turned on him. His character and capacity for mercy was compelling. I was disappointed we didn’t get to learn more of his 2000 year backstory, or at least his origins and motivations.
Selene, the shifter assassin is impulsive and naive. She strikes first without questioning the motives of the vampire who sent her to assassinate Lucien, making her a pawn. I felt for her, but she was just so petulant, and apparently forgettable. I do enjoy this series. This is the first book in it that I read.

Number twelve in the Bad Boy Alpha’s series, “Alpha’s Blood” deviates slightly from previous entries placing the spotlight on the Vampire King, Lucius and his newly acquired submissive, she-wolf shifter, Selene. Although part of a series, “Alpha’s Blood” is a standalone novella and recounted in dual POV format.
Professionally written, completely engaging and extremely fast-paced, the story opens with the heroine Selene (which means moon) being sold at an underground Shifter Auction hosted by Vampires. Selene has a secret of her own and is actually a highly trained assassin seeking revenge upon Lucius, the Vampire King. Selene’s mentor as well as co-conspirator, the one-eyed vampire Xavier, rescued her immediately after her family and entire pack was brutally murdered by Lucius… or was it someone else?
The antihero Lucius, who is thousands of years old, is extraordinarily handsome, extremely powerful, completely dominate and totally bored. Throughout his lengthy existence, Lucius has committed many atrocities in the past, sired many vampires and eventually ended them, loved only once and was betrayed by that love. Seeking relief from his boredom and relatively lonely as well as superficial existence, Lucius purchases Selene intending to train her for his entertainment.
With several twists and turns the story-line flows smoothly with multiple layers of lies, deceit and betrayal. Who doesn't love a 'good mixed messages, utter betrayal, revenge' plot?
Lucius was a very old vampire who ruled over some pretty sketchy vamps. He was surrounded by disloyalty and believed he was destined to be alone. To avoid the boredom of everlasting life, he attends a shifter auction, hoping to find a spark, something to break up the monotony. He finds Selene instead.
I really enjoyed this one. The dynamic the authors created between the characters... treacherous and exciting, dirty and delicious. I couldn't get enough of the almost cat-and-mouse game going on here. She's out to kill him. He knows this and still seduces her. She can't help but start falling for him, calling into question everything she thought she knew.
Actually, they were both questioning themselves. A relationship between them was taboo, but could they resist? Could I?
I'm telling you, this was a fun and totally dirty read and if the following books are anything like this one, I plan on reading them.

Didn’t expect to love this one as much as I did, but it really got me!!
It starts off intense, Selene is being sold at a shifter auction run by vampires, but she’s not some helpless little thing. She’s a trained assassin with a plan to kill the Vampire King, Lucius. Of course, he ends up being the one to buy her.
Lucius has been alive for centuries, powerful, cold, and honestly just… bored. But the second he sees Selene, something shifts. What I really didn’t expect was how soft and attentive he’d be underneath all the dominance. Like yes, he’s possessive and in control, but the way he takes care of her? The aftercare, the check-ins, making sure she's okay, both emotionally and physically… ugh, it was so well done. I feel like a lot of books throw BDSM in for spice without understanding the trust behind it, but this one really nailed it.
„When we’re in a scene, I am aware of everything about you--every movement, every flinch, every quiver. Your role is to be aware of me. I will be your world. My words, your god. Give yourself to me, Selene. I won’t ever let you fall.“
Outside of their dynamic, the plot moves fast. There’s revenge, betrayal, a power struggle within the vampire world, and layers of lies that kept things tense the whole time. Selene thought she was just there to kill him, but the more she sees of Lucius, the more complicated everything becomes. Same with him, he’s dealing with enemies from all sides, including the vampires he sired himself and suddenly there’s this girl who’s supposed to be another threat… but instead becomes something he actually wants to protect.
Their chemistry burns from the start, but what really stuck with me was how they built something rooted in mutual care, even when it was rough or twisted or messy. It wasn’t just about lust, it was about understanding each other in a way no one else ever had.
If you're into darker paranormal with emotional depth, actual BDSM that feels earned, and two characters who find something real in all the chaos, this one’s worth it!!!

This was the only book I have read in the series. I loved this story. It was full of suspense, drama, surprises and romance!
Lucius buys Selene at an auction. She was trained by a vengeful vampire Xavier.
Xavier found Selene after her family were murdered by a vampire.
Lucius is a powerful, but lonely vampire. Selene is a beautiful, but vulnerable shifter.
Together, she and Lucius discover many lies, and plots. But, in between all this as Lucius disciplines Selene, she finds that he is also gentle and passionate with her!
I loved this story. I couldn't stop reading.
I wish it was longer. But I loved this book!

So i was very quick to snatch it up,because i really liked the blurb.
And quess what,it turned out to be a very good decision!
Because this is a delicious story.
That was hot and very interesting.
Selene and Lucius were both very likeable.
And even though he is a Vampire King and she a shifter sent to kill him,they were made for eachother.
How he extracts the truth from her is delicious.
And she not only likes his methods,she starts to crave them....
But. Wait. Wasn’t he responsible for the deaths of her pack?
Or was there more to the story?

Premise: Selene’s only goal is to kill Lucius Frangelico (the vampire king), and her whole plan is to infiltrate his home by tempting him to buy her at a shifter subs auction. Which he does.
I really enjoyed the cat-and-mouse vibe in this novella. It was pretty heavy on the BDSM (lots of ‘training’, references to pet, flogging), and even though that’s not my kink, I still found the story really engaging. The action moved at a fast clip, and the characters had a connection that went beyond sex. Probably helped that there were lots of soft aftercare and cuddling scenes too.

EAch book in this series just gets better and better. And seeing as I love vampires, this one was right up my alley!!! Lee Savino and Renee Rose have a great thing going here and I can't wait for the next book!!!!! Not saying much more as I don't want to spoil it but I very highly recommend this book!!

There was a lot of mystery and blood in this story but it was balanced with sizzling hot sex and tender caring. Lucius is a very old soul with heartbreak in his history and Selene has known nothing but pain and heartbreak. Selene was trained with pain, to be an assassin, her only goal is to kill the Vampire King Lucius Frangelico. Once she is bought by Lucius though, she finds a very different man than she expected. I loved how sensitive and tender Lucius was with Selene, even his punishments were sensuous and very sexy. Lucius was also targeted by his made vampires, those he turned into vampires he considered his children, they are planning to destroy him and take over his power. Selene is just another in a long line that hope to destroy Lucius. The one eyed vampire, Xavier is the one that trained Selene. There are enemies everywhere, but the very old and powerful Lucius is more than ready for anything they have planned for him. I totally was engrossed in this story, it wasn't as scary and viscious as I was expecting and I loved Lucius and Selene together. I never gave a thought to putting the book down once, I had to keep reading to see what would happen next and I was never disappointed!

I Love a great Vampire story with twists and turns. It has alternating POV, dirty, filthy, hot, sexy, manipulation, triggers and a shifter virgin.
This is one hot sexy story that grabs you with its twists and the plotting that is throughout behind the scenes.
Selene is being trained to kill the Vampire King. She's been told that he killed her whole pack and she was the only one found alive. It's taken years of training to withstand pain and be submissive. Her mentor took her from the foster family that took her in after the pack was killed. It wasn't a pleasant time living there. At sixteen she was allowed to get healthy and was homeschooled. At eighteen she began training to kill a vampire, the vampire who killed my whole pack. Now my training has ended and I will kill Lucius, the Vampire King.
Lucius was informed of the auction of the shifters. He has arrived and chooses to sit in the section that hasn't been renovated to watch. He's lived thousands of years and sired an unknown number of shifters. He's also killed an unknown number of shifters.
The auction begins. They call the first lot and announces female, wolf-shifter, twenty-two. She has been trained in the submissive arts. She's never been blooded. She's never been mounted. She's a virgin.

I enjoyed this!
For the books to be as short as it was and have a full plot and steam *claps*.
I didn't feel like anything was missing to much.
I do wish Selene got to see how everything worked with Xavier.
Selene at the end absolutely LOVED. Gave warrior queen.

Match up of an ancient vampire Lucius and an auctioned she wolf Selene. Revenge is the name of the game for Selene but does not realize that Lucius is very familiar with that game. Twists and turns with hot scenes. A copy of this book was provided by booksprout with no requirements for a review. Comments here are my honest opinion.

Nice introduction to BDSM
I have long wanted to read Lucius tale, the ancient Vampire King. So old he's spending most nights bored wondering if there is nothing left in this world to keep his intrigue.
It's good he decided to investigate the Shifter auctions better, or he might not have found Selene.
The Alpha She-Wolf plying the submissive? Nah... She's not doing too good a job.. Haha. Lucius saw this straightaway on stage, but his interest is piqued.
I really liked their interactions and this introduction to BDSM with a male as ancient as he. He's not really a bad bloke after all... He's lonely.
Selene is torn between her training and conditioning - and her developing feelings towards the King.
This creates interesting scenes.
I do wish we had gotten to know more about Lucius though. I'm a sucker for dome tales of days gone by, so I felt there could be more story.
I give it 4* as I still feel there were history lessons to be learned still.

How intriguing was this story. I was able to sit and read it through in one day. It captured my attention and I just fell into the story.
The 'Game' is afoot... or is it? The wolf has one job to do and has been training hard and intense to make sure it's done right.

Vampires aren’t really my jam but I adore these authors so I gave it a go. While this won’t be my personal favorite from this duo it was a great read. I was immediately drawn in to the relationship and eager to find out how things would wrap up. If you are a fan of the vamps you are sure to love this story.

The Alpha books are so good and Alpha's Blood was fabulous.
This revolves around a vampire, Lucius, and Selene, a wolf shifter.
Lucius is King of the vampires and there are some vampires that would like him to die permanently. Selene is sent to trick him, earn his trust, and the kill him. But a relationship happens.

I loved this book! It was different from the rest of the books in this series as it was more of a vampire read without the fated aspect but I still loved it and can't wait to see what the next one is about! I definitely recommend it!

Lucien is an ancient vampire King and Selene is a she wolf assassin sent to kill him. However when she meets him Lucien is nothing like the man she has been told about. Sparks fly between them and soon nothing goes according to the plan. Will Selene come clean and tell Lucien about who she really is? Will he forgive her the deceit she initially had?
This is a great story that will captivate you from beginning to end. This is a well written and very entertaining story. I would recommend this book to any book lover.

I really enjoyed this, I was fascinated by Lucius, King of the Vampires from a previous book in this world, so loved finding out about the real him. Dominant, alpha, powerful, handsome, ancient, ruthless, hot and......bored. Can Selene, the little not so submissive wolf shifter hold his interest after he buys her at an auction, when she's obviously keeping a big, dangerous secret!
Sexy, steamy, mildish bdsm but with a great paced storyline and action throughout. It was easy to read, well written and made me want more from this world.

Having read the other books in this series, I must admit I was curious about Lucius. As the Vampire King, I was never really sure if he was a good guy or not since vampires are not always painted in the best light in this series. But not everything is at seems including Selene the shifter that is up for auction. This was a fast moving story, with plenty of action and romance. Just when I thought I had found a favorite in this series, Renee Rose and Lee Savino write another one!

Great book
I have been rooting for Frangelico for awhile now. When I found out he was getting his own story I was very excited. I liked Selene and Frangelico together. I pretty much knew what was going to happen but I enjoyed the story nonetheless.
