It's all a part of their plan. The plan is simple, but the cost is great. Control the Children, Control the Future. Control the Future, Control the World.
This is a first book by a young writer, and it kind of showed. There was too much repetition or explanation here and there. The first three pages probably could have been one page. Though the writing was probably 3 stars, the ideas, topics, themes, and messages are 5. I chose to go with that rating because it overpowered the reasons for the lesser.
It is dystopia meets leadership education (or Thomas Jefferson Education). Nice combination.
This book is fantastic! I love the demilles, they are some of my favorite authors. I love how it goes into the depth of each character and what their definition of freedom is. Ava is trained to be a one man army almost from birth and is very good at her job, but somehow manages to beat the system in almost everything. She isn't submissive as she should be, and isn't afraid to emotionally beat someone down until they yield. Brianna has a similar situation, born and bred to fight. But she is unsatisfied with the controlled life the united kingdoms has given her. She wants to live for herself and help people in her own way. Jackson is eager to serve his country and to fall in love. But he begins to see the flaws in not only the Republic, but also in the United kingdoms. He comes to the conclusion that he must start his own side, where there are laws but people are not oppressed. A side more like the old world. I would 10/10 recommend this read. It teaches great morals and really makes you think about how you want to live your life.

More than anything, Intelligence, whet my palate for more! In this first book, you get a thrilling journey through the souls of unique and interesting individuals as they discover what is worth fighting and sacrificing for. The individual, the collective, the very state of the world hangs in the balance as the dedicated few battle for freedom, truth, and all that is right and worthy in the world. It's a bit dystopian, a bit sci-fi, a bit coming of age, a bit a hero's tale, a bit treatise on the future of the human race! The world Eliza builds will all ring a bit disturbingly true and you'll come to take a moment to search your soul as the characters search theirs and find their true calling and power as individuals.
Great characters, interesting factions, cool science, and fun twists.
It's more of a Military Adventure than a Psychological Thriller. Like a cross of the best parts of The Hunger Games by Susanne Collins and Rainbow Six by Tom Clancy.
Eliza Robinson has a masterful grasp on politics, freedom principles, and human behavior. And she writes incredible twists! She writes for the long game - you've got to commit to the entire series to get the whole story.
