Cursed Souls

Rate this book
Broken hearts are hard to mend, but what about shattered souls?

But now that she faces losing a man she might have broken beyond repair, there’s no time to waste. She’s willing to sacrifice everything to undo her mistake and earn back his trust.

Plagued with strange dreams full of bloody feathers, she struggles to resist the angel's heavenly thrall, but her newest and most insidious adversary isn't the only one on the hunt. There’s a bounty on her head, enemies are piling up, and secrets after secrets come to light.

Will the darkness within her prove to be her saving grace? Or will it her undoing?

Full Review on my blog!

Cursed Souls was everything I could have hoped for, for the end of this trilogy! It was an action packed, fun, unique read with an interesting continuation of the story that will put you on the edge of your seat.

This book picks up where the second book ended. After Alana severed her link to Liam, she learns it has left him broken and ½ crazed.  Now it's a rush to get the piece of his soul back from their mortal enemy and restore Liam before it is too late.

Liam and Lana’s story has always been rocky - and it will probably always be so, even with a conclusion that made me smile. It’s just who they are.

It was the culmination of everything the first two books in the series were leading up to.  All of the repressed feeling, anger, love, jealousy, bitterness, resentment, lust, all comes to a head, and FINALLY, the love triangle is resolved.

I don't want to give too much away, you'll have to read this one to find out what happens. I loved how the story progressed and each character grew.  I absolutely loved every minute of it, and was sad when it ended. This series is definitely worth the read!

I've learned to be accepting of open-ended stories (which this one turned out to be). Even though I don't love them it gives me hope that there will be future books/novellas in this series.

I liked that Alana went after what she wanted in this story. The whole pining after someone is great and all but it does get old eventually. She took action and made him see what the situation was and make up his mind about it. I also loved how her power has been slowly growing over the course of the last two books and seeing what she's capable of doing now.

Liam was very wishy-washy this time around. He usually has this tough and aggressive exterior but Alana seems to thaw him out a bit. Not enough to stop with the back and forth but enough to make him want a future he isn't sure should even be an option.

I appreciate how big of a role the secondary characters played in this finale! They were fleshed out characters with their own distinct personalities and quirks that didn't get lost in the complicated plot this story featured. I would love to see a spin-off with Lilah and maybe even Thom. Vicky is getting her own series but reverse harem, even though it does go with who she is as a character, isn't for me.

The ending for now and the special bonus epilogue were sweet. Having them share a special moment after everything they been through was well deserved. I hope their story isn't over because I would love to go on another adventure with this group of characters in the future!

My Favorite Quotes:

"[...] You're not doing anyone a favor by making choices that makes you miserable."

"Alone, we survive. Together, we live."

"I'm no princess, and I don't want a damn prince. I want this. You. Me. Scars and all."

HEA

I really enjoyed the ending of this fast paced Urban Fantasy Romance. Liam and Lana’s story has always been rocky - and it will probably always be so, even with a conclusion that made me smile. It’s just who they are. I still have a ton of questions though, but considering Vicky has a spin off and this ended with the tag, “the end.... for now” - I’m hoping some of those lose threads get tied in a future series.

Pros:
- Emotional.
- Character development is on point.
- Frank.... the diabolical scum is strangely compelling.
- World building is vivid.

Cons:
- Leaves unanswered questions: the sarcophagus? That was a moment there, needs addressing. Also, the collective, that constant radio frequency in Liam’s brain is a problem.

Excellent everything was tied up nicely. I only have one remaining question .

1) what did the angel mean when he said “he already said yes?” Is that question left open for a potential spin off with another character.

2) I definitely would be interested in staying in this world except a new set of characters who’s stories are somehow connected to the original

3) all in all very satisfying ending. The right amount of romance and storyline progression balanced.

I both love and hate coming to the end of a good series. Since I first read Shadow Walker I've been dying to know what would happen to Alana and Liam. Despite all of his (many) flaws, I've liked Liam from the beginning and much prefer him for Alana. Fortunately, she finally agreed with me in the last book even if she had really hurt him along the way. Now in this final instalment, we're faced with Liam and Alana trying to work out exactly what they mean to one another and what their relationship will be.
As I already mentioned, I loved both Liam and Alana, both as individual characters and as a potential pair. This book built on that. There is a lot to work though, but that just added to the enjoyment of the story. Obviously, things don't just work smoothly and even when some things are sorted out, there are still other things to deal with.
This was a fantastic trilogy, I greedily read to the end as quickly as I could and am now left with regret that it's over. I seem to have another book hangover, this time caused by the fact that it's the end of the series, rather than my craving for the next instalment (there really is no pleasing some people is there?) Is this the end though? There is more to come in this world, with a spin-off due in a few months. There's plenty of room for more stories with some of the characters that we've already met in this book. I also wonder (hope) that this might not be the last we hear of Liam and Alana either. Not that I'm wanting to put ideas in the author's head or anything, but I'd love to hear more about them, even if it's in the form of a novella or similar, maybe with a newsletter as a little bonus sometime, just a thought...
I really enjoyed this whole series, in case that wasn't clear. I can't wait to read more from this world. In the meantime, I'll just have to recover from reading this final story and wait patiently.

Loved loved loved it! Amazing finish! I also love how finally someone ends up with the bad boy who loves them fully instead of the obvious good guy pick most authors go for! Can't wait for more from this author! I also love how there are steamy hot scenes full of passion but without the vulgarity that some books have that bring the love and thrill down for me, Anya knows how to write it EXACTLY perfect!

I loved the finale of Alana's story! This was a high-powered romp with witches and demons and bloody battles. And lots of sexytimes, because HOLY WOW, we waited a long time for them! Cosgrove did a great job pulling all the strings together, and I can't wait to see what she's bringing up next.

OMG! Best ending ever!!

I have disliked Lana since the first book. I must say I love how she's gotten herself together. She's learning her magic, learning how to protect herself and how to deal with her emotions. They have all been through so much. There is anger, betrayal, love and trust issues that threaten everything. Vickie helping Liam through losing himself thanks to Lana made me see her differently. I really like Lilah, Vickie and Fae is growing on me. I would like to find out how they deal with the Hales and all of the discoveries that were made. This is a fantastic series.

This was the ending I needed for now, but I could live in Liam and Alana’s world forever! The spice in this book was well worth the wait and I am so thankful that each of the books built up to what culminated an incredible enemies to lovers passion-fuelled romance that was beyond everything I hoped for.

Liam Walker will forever live rent-free in my head and heart, and if the author ever decides to return to Liam and Alana’s world, I will be there for the ride!

Lots unanswered and resolved

I was trying hard to give the benefit of the doubt, after the painful first book and improvement in the second there was a smidgen of hope. But so much was unanswered and unresolved and for the most part unless I read other character stories these two are done.

In all honesty after wading through these three books you couldn’t pay me to read anything else.

I liked the story in the first 2 books, but I really didn't care for Lana much. It was like the Author had to make her do stupid shit in order for the story to continue... I guess maybe it was 2 obvious.

I really liked book 3. Everything was wrapped up nicely, and the characters grew. After reading this book, I would recommend this trilogy. 😁

Great book

I really enjoyed this story. While I was reading my friend said I would make faces. She was right though because I was so into the story and what the characters were doing. I can’t wait for more books in this world.

A thrilling adventure that gets better

With intense changes and death that looms I couldn't put the book down. Besides a few typing errors the adventure is exciting and thrilling. I look for for the next book.

Cursed Souls picks up where Witch's Honor leaves off.  After Alana severed her link to Liam, she learns it has left him broken and ½ crazed.  Now it's a rush to get the piece of his soul back from their mortal enemy and restore Liam before it is too late.

This book was the culmination of everything the first two books in the series were leading up to.  All of the repressed feeling, anger, love, jealousy, bitterness, resentment, lust, all comes to a head, and FINALLY, the love triangle is resolved.  I was a bit worried since in book one, and two nothing happened, and it was playing out to be a bit like a YA book, but no, when the fireworks happened, it was explosive.

"You're mine. Say it." His voice is quiet and intense. My insides squeeze in longing. "I'm yours. Don't you dare forget it again," he growls, biting down on the sensitive skin.

No, I am not going to give it away which brother was chosen.  If you've read the books, you should have a good idea who Alana did choose.  It was fantastic.

I am not ready to say goodbye to this world, and I hope Cosgrove continues writing in it.  There is so much more she can do.  I want to know Keenan's story, and then there is a brother that needs a HEA.

I am giving Cursed Souls 5 Boundless stars, and it was everything the series was building up to, danger, action, steamy romance.  I loved it.

I loved this book. This is the third book in the bloody hearts series. We have Lana trying to get Liam's soul back. The conflicts, steamy romance are exceptional.
No spoilers here. You will need to read the story to find out who Lana finally choices for her lover.
Well written, a few minor typos that do not interfere with the reading.
Fast paced. I could not put the book down. I needed to read what would happen next. How did Alana resolve her problem with Liam. How did she get his soul back. The secondary characters were just as involved as the main ones, which is great to read.
I would recommend this whole series to everyone.

I straighten his jacket's collar. "You're being a total guy about this."
 "Am not."
"Are too."
"I love you."
My breath catches in my throat, and I blink, frozen in this perfectly imperfect moment. I graze his cheek with my thumb. "I love you too."
"I know."

This was such an action packed, crazy, sexy conclusion to one of my new favorite gritty urban fantasy/paranormal romance series. The ending was perfect, even though I would have loved more, but that is just because I am greedy. I was team Liam from the beginning, just saying.

Wow! This is an incredible book! It is a wonderful conclusion to an incredible series. The book is action packed and full of hot sexy sences. It is so exciting and impossible to put the book down. The book does a great job of answering the questions from the earlier books and ties everything off perfectly. I just love the characters and how everything concludes for them. I love this book and highly recommend this series!
