Summer Prescott is well-known in the Cozy Mystery realm, having written and published several Best-Sellers in the genre. An avid reader of Thrillers, Horror and Suspense, the author has decided to follow her passion with the debut of her Thriller, The Quiet Type, which launched in the top 50 of the Serial Killer category on Amazon. The novel has received high praise in its reviews, and Summer is considering a possible trilogy or series to continue the story.
Missy is excited to have her entire B&B booked for a week to accommodate a wedding party, including a bridal shower and hosting the reception. The bride-to-be, Chelsea Covington, is a beautiful young lady with a very pleasant demeanor. The groom, Max Vance, looks like good match with his easy-going attitude. The bride and groom met at college and fell in love with each other. They seem like an ideal couple.
Unfortunately, Chelsea's mother, Kendra, is very rude and demanding while her father, Carlson, is quiet and reserved around his wife. Like his wife, though, he is very abrupt and confrontational with other people. Kendra makes it a point to find fault with everything and everybody. The groom's father, Lyle Vance, has issues with Kendra and Carlson's attitudes and stands up to their insults.
The group wants to go to Mitchell Farms to visit the Pumpkin Patch and Haunted Corn Maze for a day of fun. In spite of Mr. & Mrs. Covington's bad attitudes, Missy's handyman, Spencer Bengal, agrees to drive the group. While in the maze, Carlson is murdered.
Who killed Carlson? Why was he killed? How will the murder affect the wedding plans? Will Detective Chas Beckett be able to solve the mystery? How will the murder impact Missy's inn?
Summer Prescott does a great job of keeping things moving along at a quick pace. Her books are really easy reading with short chapters and realistic situations. She has a knack of making some characters very likable while others are very disagreeable. In either case, her characters are realistic and the reader can easily identify them with people they may have met in their own lives.
Missy is so excited, the whole B&B is rented out for a wedding, the whole family is there and they're going to do the bridal shower and wedding and she can't wait to meet them, until they get there - the mother of the bride criticizes everything, nothing is good enough and she has a list of demands miles long, the bride is lovely but the parents of the bride clearly think the groom and is family are just not good enough for their daughter and everyone at the inn is acting as referee to try and keep things civil. The group goes for a day outing to an apple farm with lots of activities planned and they enjoy the corn maze except one of them doesn't make it out alive but the final straw is when the mother of the bride accuses Toffee of chewing her running shoe, Missy offers to replace it and the mother insists Toffee be put done and Missy puts her in her place very quickly but a few days later Toffee gets very ill and has to be rushed to the vets where they are worried she might not make it. All this and more with one shocking revelation after another coming out While Chas is investigating the murder but something comes out that puts all the pieces of the puzzle together as it comes to an extremely shocking conclusion and reveal the murderer. The sweet bride and groom go ahead and have a beautiful ending, a very sweet end to a very deep mystery. Great read,
And love the author and her characters! Missy and chas on another adventure in their new home town dealing with a wedding party at their b&b someone dies and it's left up to Chas with help from missy and friends!
I started reading her books like a week ago, Her writing is amazing, I haven't finished the series yet but I hope along the way she brings in Ben and Cheryl and Grayson as guest
This is another fantastic read in the Frosted Love series. It's a little dark but, that's okay. The book is well written and Missy, Chas, and the gang are fun.
Missy and Chas are hosting a wedding at their new bed and breakfast. Things start to go awry from the beginning. Interesting storyline again I just wish we knew the characters better.
I must say, the mother-of-the-bride is one witch of a woman and the sad thing is that I have met people like her. She was really well written and written to be so easy to hate.
The mystery this book was interesting, and though she tried to throw some curveballs this book, however, they weren’t very effective. Trying to paint Spenser in a slightly bad light isn’t really effective as he’s such a lovable character. I really did enjoy the little digging that Kel and Echo did during the book. I feel like Kel is going to be a very useful in the future books.
the Frosted Love cozy mytery continues to tell the adventures of Missy and Chas. i love how the new returning characters are involved and playing major roles in this murder. Kel has proven himself valuable at investigating as well as knowlefgable and resourceful. He really seems to be enjoying himself. Echo still hasn't made up her mind but maybe Kel will help with the final decision. Spencer also is full of surprises as the new jack of all trades at the inn. He proves very helful in the investigation as well and we get to learn a lot more about him. Poor Spencer is thrown into the thick of it when the bed and breakfast is booked for a wedding. The bride's mother is difficult and insufferable and her father is not well liked either, but, this only makes their stay at the inn interesting. This book is lively and enjoyable. It's never who you tjought did it which makes it all the more fun. In the usual Frosted Love tradition, readers are left waiting to find out what happens in the next book. I enjoyed this book and would recommend it.
Missy and Chas are finally feeling settled in their adopted hometown of Calgon, Florida. Their B&B is doing well and Missy loves creating new cupcake concoctions at Cupcakes in Paradise, the teahouse she and Chas own. Her best friend, Echo, is in town and with a wedding party descending upon the B&B, all is right with Missy's world. Unfortunately, that all comes crashing down when someone associated with the wedding is murdered. When one of her employees is implicated, Missy once again dons her investigator's cap.
I love both Spenser, the military vet now working for her, and Kel, a local artist who is always up on the town gossip. The twist at the end totally caught me off guard. This was another great addition to a truly enjoyable series!
Loved this one too. Kendra, the bride's mother was a real witch, and when she threatened to have Toffee put down for chewing up her shoe, that was the final straw for me. I didn't think Missy was angry enough. I'd have thrown her assets out of the inn and made her find other personal accommodations. But she got her comeuppance in the end!
Missy is very feisty in this sequel. Florida is great, Echo has returned and the inn is in full swing. Can they catch the killer before they become a serial killer?.Grab a drink and cozy up for a good read.
I think this series just keeps getting better. I'm glad to see recurring characters along with the main characters. Apple Cider Murder and several twist and turns to hold your interest. Curl up and have a cozy read.
These books are great reads. Wonderful short story with suspense and romance. You can read alone or the series is great. Can't wait for the next installment.
Nothing like a murder and weddings to bring everyone closer.. I was a little disturbed by the dog getting injured in this book, but alls well that ends well!
