My son ADORES this entire series. He gives them all five stars, and since they're in his age range, I let him make the final call on the ratings hehe. He's 8.5 and has read them all upwards of 5 times now and he can't get enough.
I really enjoyed this one as well, it had a couple moments that made me tear up because they just remind you how wonderful God is 💕. Looking forward to finishing the series so my little guy and I can chat all about them ☺️
THE PRINCE WARRIORS AND THE UNSEEN INVASION is a very action packed book right from the beginning. It begins with Rook rescueing a prisoner who tried to escape and it was hard because when a prisoner is captured they slowly become a big metal robot. It was action packed all the way through. One of the characters picked up a dragon fly type thing and it was slowly poisoning her being. This is not a book to read at night. It is scary at times!
THE PRINCE WARRIORS is the second book in the series, but it stands alone. I didn't have a chance to read the first book, but I really want to get it . Even though I didn't read the first book I wasn't lost at all in this book.
This is a sci fi/fantasy book for tweens and I highly recommend it to anyone who likes action/adventure or sci fi/fantasy stories. Make sure this is in your favorite tweens personal library.
I purchased the first book, The Prince Warriors, for my oldest grandson. He loves sci-fi and I thought that this trilogy would be a perfect fit. I was right, he loved it. In fact he not only loved it but his younger brother and dad did as well. After reading it myself I am also of the opinion that girls will love it too.
The Prince Warriors and the Unseen Invasion is book two in the trilogy and we have all eagerly anticipated it. The story picks up where the first left off and still centers on the theme of Ephesians 6:10-18 (putting on the full armor of God). In the first book the enemy's schemes had been defeated and truth prevailed.
In this second book the enemy is furious and is coming back at our warriors with a vengeance. New creatures, weapons, and even characters are introduced. Never fear though, our warriors will receive more of the armor they need to ultimately defeat this enemy. I felt like this story was even more intense than the first. I'm pretty sure the next book will ratchet it up another notch. As with any good trilogy the tension just builds and builds. In this instance the tension is building but so is the warriors confidence, knowledge, and skills.
I cannot possibly recommend this series enough. It is designed specifically with middle-grade kids in mind. The humor and situations will appeal to them and the lessons that are presented are put forth in a way that will make sense to their growing minds. If you have an 8-12 year old you should definitely get this for them. The third and final book, The Prince Warriors and the Swords of Rhema, is set to be released on February 1st. I can promise you I'll be snatching it up for my grands.
I received a copy of this book to facilitate my review.
Although this is a kids book (remember that when you read it), it's not bad. This one also has more substance that the first book in the series, with more action and drama as well. I enjoyed it much more. There were even times that gave me some comfort and reminded me of some Biblical wisdom I had not thought much of recently.
Overall, a decent Christian-based kids' book that adults might possibly get something out of as well.
"Your faith is your shield". "How can faith be a shield? That's impossible. Nothing is impossible." The enemy will do everything to stop you and many will try to take it from you.
The Prince Warriors are on another adventure. They join Ruwach in another realm, learning about doing battle of the spiritual kind. They come back to their world and use what they learn. In the spirit of the Chronicles of Narnia, the warriors are given seeds from Ruwach and warned to keep their seeds protected and to use them in time of trouble. Several of the warriors doubting the power of the seeds (the seeds represent faith), throw their seed in the pond and the other flushes his down the toilet. Another warrior Brianna takes a harmless friend from her adventures with the other warriors secretly and has the biggest battle of the mind. Something all readers can identify with.
Such great lessons using adventures to talk about faith. Because living out our faith is a adventure worth living out every day.
A Special Thank You to B&H Publishing and Netgalley for the ARC and the opportunity to post an honest review.
This book was way better than the first one in the series. There were still parts that dragged on but the overall story was much improved. Our son really enjoyed it.
After a slow start in book 1, this one was faster to get into the meat of the story. Reading these with my daughter, they spur a lot of good conversations.
This review is written after getting to the end of the series, and then reading the sequel. The thin characterisation of the Prince Warriors in Book 1 gradually gives way to a more robust feel in the personalities and the problems they face.
On being given "seed-shields", each of the warriors reacts in different ways. Evan throws his seed away; Manuel flushes his down the toilet after deciding that the seed is a metaphor for planting an idea and that it's therefore meant to be an inspiration to build a shield of his own; Brianna puts hers in a glittery box; Levi and Xavier are careful to keep theirs safe. But using the seeds? That doesn't occur to any of them until flaming olethrons start crashing down on them and all other means of defence are completely gone.
This book in the series is a lot better then the first. Since it is the second book it gets into it a lot quicker. It has a good tie between fantasy, the bible, and real live. I recommend this book and the rest of the series.
As we return again to the lives of The prince warriors we see that their challenges will get harder and harder. Their enemy has gotten more powerful, smarter and anger. This book is also based of of some parts of the bible, but I recommend it to anyone who likes to read. The Prince Warriors And The Unseen Invasion is the second of a three book series. In this book the Prince Warriors face the enemy again who is really mad about his last defeat. They face this enemy on earth and in the unseen realm of Ahoratos. The enemy has a whole lot of new tactics and weapons that the warriors have never seen before, but don’t worry. The warriors also get a whole lot of armor and weapons to help them defeat the enemy. Through a long battle the enemy never saw the defeat coming. Priscilla Shirer is an amazing writer and did an amazing job on this book. She used literary elements, great vocabulary, and the story was so interesting. After reading the first chapter I was hooked. Every time I got home I did my homework and then read the book. I can’t wait to get my hands on the third book. Again I recommend this book for all fiction readers.
My son read the first book in the series several months ago and anxiously (impatiently) awaited the release of book two. Needless to say, he is already pestering me about when book three is coming out! That is how much he likes this series. So far this is one of his favorite series ever! Here is what he had to say...• "The book starts in Ahoratos with Rook saving one of Poneros prisoners [ Finn ] from the Fortress of Chaos. Then Xaiver, Evan, Brianna, and Levi get their shields and their helmets from Ruwach and fight the invisible Ents. I liked that their shields could only activate when they had faith. I also liked that it had the original characters that were in the first book. My favorite character was Rook, because he was just awesome. I was excited to read the first chapter in book 3 at the end, but now its even harder to wait until it comes out."
I was blessed with a free copy of this book by B&H Publishing Group to review. I was not required to review positively and all opinions are my own.
In the book “The Prince Warriors and the Unseen Invasion,” the author did amazing just as she did in the first book “The Prince Warriors.” If you have not read the book you should go check it out! The detail was great and the way Priscilla Shirer brings Ahortos to life is amazing. When I read “The Unseen Invasion” I feel like I was in the book with the characters. The epilogue is what really makes me want to read the next book. The character Ivy Is new, very shy, and isn't really good at making friends. Levi, Brianna, Evan, Xavier, and Manuel are the main characters and they get a weird assignment from Ruwatch and the children learn an important lesson in Ahortos about what will help them in a future mission. The quotes have to be the best part; they give good meaning to the book. They can also be applied in the actual world if you really think about it. I can’t wait to read the last book of the series. I hope that after the third book that the author will make a fourth. I’m so thankful I was able to get a copy through NetGalley!
I’ve never read anything like this series before! The Prince Warriors and the Unseen Invasion is the second book in the series. It is all about spiritual warfare and how God knows best and how He will always forgive you. This book is very similar to the first book when it comes to the theme, but the amazing challenges the characters have to face to protect the Earth give the book a specialness all its own. The main characters are called prince warriors when they are in the spiritual kingdom of Ahoratos. The prince warriors teach you that your age doesn’t matter when it comes to being a warrior for God. This is a very relatable book, because even though the characters are amazing warriors, they all make human mistakes. I enjoyed every minute! There wasn’t any concerning language and very little violence. I think that this book is good for kids ten and up because the vocabulary might be too challenging to the average eight or nine year-old.
Excellent book. It’s the second in a series of three. The age group recommended for this birth is 8 to 12. My 11 year old devoured the first two books. I have never seen her read anything as fast as she has read the first two. She is now on the three of the trilogy. I highly recommend this book as a way to help teach your children about spiritual warfare in the use of the armor of God that he gives to everyone. It’s an exciting book. It’s Page turner. You always want to know what is coming to Up Next. I highly recommend this book
Audiobook: Listened to this at 3x speed just to get it over with. My 9yo daughter was given this series and I thought I'd read it to know what she's reading. It has strong religious themes including a supernaturally powerful character who gives vague instructions to children who struggle to complete the tasks, but seemingly accomplish them doing what they would have done had he given them instruction or not. And then when they proceed to give him all the credit saying they couldn't have done it without him. Even for a fantasy novel it seems a little far fetched.
I was blown away by this book. Wonderful fantasy mixed with Godly themes that has you reaching for the next one almost immediately. We read it as a family, however, I would recommend this for kids 5th grade on up (4th grade advanced). My son, who is not a reader, begged for the first one and we devoured it as well. KUDOS!!!
We read it as part of our family read aloud and was completely absorbed in the story. My boys- 16, 12, and 8 would beg for more every time I stop to put it down. We can't wait for the next book.
This book gave me another view of a magical scene. I hope that there are other books in this series, and if there aren't,at least other books by this author. And if there are other books in this series, then, WATH OUT BOOKS!!!, because I'm going to read you!
This is the second book in the Prince Warriors series. It had some good lessons on protecting our minds with the truth. Not as good as the first book, but still worth the read.
My name is Manuel, and there's no scientific explanation for the existence of Ahoratos. This alternate world is real, and I only discovered it after being rescued from a bully. I wish I enjoyed the quests as much as Evan, but I guess I'm brave when I need to be. Ruwach says the enemy is angry after his last defeat, so our team has been given little red seeds to defend ourselves. He says we need to have faith, but I'm not stupid enough to believe a seed can protect me. My mom had one too, but my experiments on it haven't revealed anything special. The enemy is planning something extra evil for us, but who knows what it will be? I can only imagine the chaos they could unleash on earth if they ever find a way between the two worlds.
You should probably read the first book to fully understand what's going on. The books have a religious feel, as the kids are led by the teachings of the Source and its guidance in The Book. The characters don't carry weapons but are told they have all they need to succeed if they trust and have faith. After reading book one, it's surprising this is a challenge for them, since they witnessed the occurrence of impossible things. However, two of the kids quickly forget, and Evan's lapse is especially serious. I guess this represents the difficulty of having faith and hope in real life. This book has more direct battles between good and evil with violent attacks from the enemy creatures. Additional characters are added to the group of protagonists, and the cast is becoming more diverse. The kids are upper elementary to middle school age, but a high school student, young adult, and a grandparent have joined the cause. They're all good at supporting each other in times of need if they are aware of the problems. One character is especially vulnerable, but the others don't fully understand until it's almost too late. As a side note, I find myself questioning the name of the series. In this time of awareness of diversity and gender equity, why is the series called Prince Warriors? Two of the main characters are princesses. Strange. I enjoyed this book more than the first, and I've already started reading the trilogy's conclusion, The Swords of Rhema. Give it a shot.
