Writing has always been a big part of my life. Since I was a child I've known exactly where my passion lay.
No matter what's gone on in my life writing has been my touchstone. After all, we all need a place to escape to.
Reading is my idea of heaven. There's nothing I like more than to switch everything off, close the bedroom door, and curl up with a good book.
I have a feeling that's something all at Goodreads can identify with.

Thanks for taking the time with me today. Now do something for yourself, go and curl up in your own reading heaven.

Hmmm...not really going into the re-tellung of the plot cause it s pretty spoilery if I try doing it...so, I ll leave it open...

With this ending...Gosh, I'm both, annoyed a bit LOL and intrigued...

Tough luck for me cause now I have to wait for the 3rd book...

TL;DR: I enjoyed it initially, but it had problems. I'll probably still read the next one.

Go It Alone is a book of two halves.

After moping around for some time following Ryske's demise, Harlow decides she's going to get revenge. I enjoyed her being fiery and kick-ass and throwing herself into running the club and getting the money together to carry on some of Ryske's criminal activity. I imagine I would also have enjoyed seeing her train to fight, had that actually been shown, not just told. Who doesn't enjoy a revenge story? It feeds into that part of us that wishes we could destroy everyone that ever hurt us. It was great fun. The woman who stood her ground against a gang hit is back.

And then... SHOCK REVEAL! Except I didn't really find it all that shocking because 1) hints and 2) this is a five book series and no one reads New Moon four times, do they?

And it was largely downhill from there. Harlow's response, frankly, was tedious. Don't get me wrong - be angry! Be jaded! Fucking burn the world down! But all this shit about making Rupert a promise? Feeling guilty about lying to him? No one likes a martyr. They're incredibly dull. Also, it's hard to take her guilt over telling a lie seriously, compared to, say, her involvement in drug trafficking.

The tedium of Harlow's self-sacrifice was compounded by various passages rehashing her logic, but particularly chapter 27. Much the same as chapter 26 in the first book, actually. And, worse - she rehashed it with Clyde. Clyde is bland with a side of horny and his character adds nothing to the books. Couldn't Harlow have made an actual friend, not just some guy who wants to fuck her?

I have never come across anyone, real or otherwise, who is as touchy feely as these characters. They're always stroking someone's face/hand/hair/beard or holding hands or hugging. And by someone, I don't mean their partner/family member/best friend. I mean acquaintances, employees, not particularly good friends. What the hell is going on? Is this normal to some people? It freaks me out a bit.

Ergo, I was already a bit bored and a little weirded out when we hit the nail in the coffin: an attempted rape. Or, rather, not the attempt itself - horrid but not entirely unexpected given the nature of Harlow's naive venture into criminality - but the rape apologism. Because, you see, the would-be rapist lost the love of his life. And Harlow was hot and there. You can't blame him. He had nothing left to lose...

Seriously? UGH.

I'm going to read the next one but I'm hoping for a dual POV because a little less time with Harlow and a little more time with her gang would probably be better for my anger levels.

This book as well as book one gave me all the feels. It does end in a cliffhanger. I’ve already set a reminder for book three when it comes out.

It kept me on edge of my seat. I loved both characters and can’t wait for book three.

OMG! The plot thickens as this exciting read takes yet another gripping turn.
With lies and deceit going on all around her Harlow’s having a hard time knowing who to trust. It’s brilliant and I can’t wait to find out what happens next!

Brilliant follow up to go with it

The second book in the Harlow sweeting story is every bit as good as the first. Now at home devastated by the death of her one true love Harlow is slowly putting her life together until she realizes the only thing she can do to put things right is avenge her lovers murder but with the crew gone and Floyd's shut down can she triumph. A brilliant follow up pacey and beguiling grips the reader from page one. You need to read "Go with it" first but it is well worth your investment you will be hooked on this series. Can't wait for book 3 simply stunning

Every once in awhile you get the privilege of reading a character like Harlow that comes into her own, and fully owns herself and becomes a powerhouse of her own right. After the jaw dropping ending from the first book, we continue on her journey where it left off, and feel her every emotion. I cheered for her strength, her plot for revenge, her cunning...What we thought we knew, isn't what it seemed, and I was thrown into a thrill ride from start to finish. I had no clue, although I had hoped, but was still unprepared for what the Author gave us. Even after all the anguish, and pain, and emotions, there was still more surprises around every turn, and the ending was yet another jaw dropper that will hopefully come soon so I can continue on this wild journey!! I thank the Author for providing a copy to review!!

OMG Scarlett what are you doing to me!
Ok as soon as I was done with book 1 I had to get my hands on book 2 and I definitely wasn't disappointed!

Harlow kicked ass in this book we really got to see her character grow. I'm not going to get all into the ins and outs but there is one hell of a roller coaster.

I’m here ready and waiting for book 3

Fate Brings Them Together
WOW! I skipped my daily sudoku, solitaire and other games ánd my television soaps to read the books in this series, one after the other. And when I got to the end, I just wanted to go on reading about the love story, this wonderful group of characters and their adventures. But fortunately I know there are many more books by Ms Finn that are out there to enjoy.
One rollercoaster story told in five books with love and lies, con and crime, steamy scenes, friends and fire and so much more. The humor! Lots and lots of laughs. The crew consists of different personalities, four men and add the one woman who will become their Nightingale. And the male main side pieces are just great as well. I’d love to have brothers like them.

A never ending thrill ride. With high speed emotions

I’m loving getting to know these characters on a deeper level. The story just keeps unraveling and I’m here for it. It’s twisted and full of hurdles but they don’t give in. Their passion and chemistry an infinitely burning presence. I so enjoy her feisty nature and how stubborn and confident they both are. I could not put it down. A never ending thrill ride. With high speed emotions and so many swoon worthy moments. I can’t wait to see where the story goes next!

Shocking

The adventures of Harlow continue with Ryske being gone her life is not the same. Harlow feels like she has no purpose until she decides to get revenge for her love but there are twists and turns in the book that no one anticipated. Ryske comes back from the dead to save Harlow but things are not going the way any one anticipated. I can’t wait to see what happens next

These books are really stupid and so badly written but I could not put it down. I don’t know why this has me so hooked. It obviously does not make a lot of sense, the characters are poorly developed but somehow it’s fun.

Scarlett Finn has surpassed herself, this series just keeps getting better. Harlow is my kind of woman, she is badass and brave, and will do anything to protect the people she loves.
This book has so many plot twists my poor heart couldn't take much more.
It's a sign of a great author that can bring so many emotions from you when you are reading, because you fall in love with characters, you find other characters creepy and wonder what their intentions are 🤔🤔 you hate other characters with a passion, so I'd say that Scarlett has written a brilliant book and I can't wait to dive into the next instalment to see what happens next to my favourite heroine and her crew. This is a series I'd definitely recommend 💞💞💞💞💞

Loved it!

I loved reading this book! I couldn't put this book down. Harlow struggles with putting her life back together after Ryske dies. Trying to find herself, she goes back to the city and reopens the bar to start over again. She becomes stronger and edgier. I enjoyed reading this book, it was so good.
