Review : Never Fade Away by Chetan Batra is a book full of emotions ; love, suspense, thrill all in one. The cover is alluring. The novella is about four college friends ; Aditi,Yohan,Vishal,Riya. The books points the dirty side of the country and these students get wrapped in the crime scene of murder during interrogation. The book touches the issues faced by women as well. Rape, murder, child abuse, women trafficking are some of the most hilarious crimes and India is one of the alarming countries from this side. What keeps the story more engrossing is this book is not a typical love story. The suspense and the thrill make is worth reading. The language is lucid and easy to understand.
I gave this book 3.5 star (out of 5) rating. Overall I really enjoyed this sweet story of a man's love for a women who was fighting to change her world's view on women. Aditi was fierce and strong and did what she could to bring awareness to her community about the way women were abused and mistreated. They uncovered big sex trafficking operation at the risk of her own life.
The love between Aditi and Yohan was sweet and innocent and a joy to read about and watch blossom. I felt bad for these characters as they faces so many hardships, but continued to fight and do what was right.
The story was a solid 4 star (out of 5) story, but some of the writing lacked emotion and detail to make it really enjoyable to read. I sometimes felt I was reading a summary of the story instead of the actual story. I also felt that sometimes the story jumped around too much without proper transitions to help make it flow nicely. I would have enjoyed a little more depth to the characters with more descriptions on what they were feeling, thinking, and how they were reacting to their situations.
A very cute story, but the simple writing brought it down a little. I felt that I was reading a story written by a young child at times. I am pretty sure that English was not the first language for Batra and for that I applaud the effort. With a little bit more practice with English I think Batra is on his way to creating some great stories.
Book Title: Never Fade Away Author: Chetan Batra Format: Kindle
Book Title: The title of the book ' Never Fade Away ' is very emotional and heartening.
Book Cover: The cover image of the book is a silhouette image of a couple holding hands near the beach with a beautiful sky at dusk.
Plot: The story is set up in a college where the characters Yohan, Aditi, Richa, and Vineet are friends with each other and are also the protagonists of the story. The story starts with the abduction and rape with the murder of a student belonging to their college. Being the protagonists it's obvious that in some way these four get involved with the police department and solve the case. But as fate doesn't go according to our planning, the result of this case creates many many problems for these people.
What are the problems? Who creates them? Who are the victims? Will they succumb to the pressure or triumph? Read the story for all the answers.
What I like: 1. The love story between Yohan and Aditi which is very balanced, matured and transparent to the parents also. 2. No excessive drama is found and makes the book interesting 3. A citizen's responsibility as a student and as a friend is worth mentioning 4. Subtle romance and matured gestures are fun to read 5. The narration makes the reader travel with all the characters and this is a good point
What I didn't like: 1. At mid chapters, the story was found rushing that can make the reader's focus waver. 2. It was amusing and foolish that the character Yohan imagines and describes a private moment of his friend Vineet and his girlfriend Richa that happens inside their own room.
Characters: All the characters are plotted well
Narration: The narration is in simple language and hence no complexity is found. There are places where the protagonists face challenges, and I found some rush in narration to complete the sub-plots. Also, there are many incidents in the story that are inspired by real incidents that really shook the country a few years back. In recent times, even a web series is made depending upon that incident and hence while reading it was easy to visualize the story.
Language & Grammar: Simple and easy language with normal grammar is used in the story.
My Final Verdict: A simple story and a perfect read for love story genre readers

Review : The eye soothing cover and catchy book title attracts the reader to look forward to read it , the title 'Never Fade Away' perfectly goes with the story author wants to potray . The name of the characters in the story are: Yohan , Aditi with major role and Vineet , Richa. All four of them in this story are friend to each other and have centralised role , all are caught up together in to many incidents. Story starts up with abduction and murder where these four become part of the interrogation.I liked the way story is being plot between Yohan and Aditi , balanced and beautiful , Cute romance with maturity are indeed fun to read .Book is interesting the way it is , no excessive drama required to make it verse well. While reading the book I could actually go through all the characters and enjoy each of them as the author has penned every character by their point of view. I liked the way a romance genre book gave a point of social issues that takes place with women in our country (Rape , Murder , Child Assualt , women trafficking). The language used is simple and lucid. Simple grammar is being used, No complexity found in narration , some of the incidents were definitely inspired by true story which had shook our country. Over all a excellent read , would highly recommend teenagers and people who read love and romantic genre .
Is this yet another love story? NO!! Is this book again some couple madly in love, cheat, or family melodrama? NO!!
Four best friends, Aditi, Yohan, Vineet, and Ruchi; two couples and a simple love story. 'Never Fade Away', talks about social issues faced by women in India. Rape, murder, women trafficking, corruption, are the major issues that the author has tried to highlight with this book. Author Chetan Batra has very elegantly put across the message, 'it is the responsibility of every citizen to help fight crime without the fear of any consequences'.
If you are new to reading or looking for something light to read, this book is perfect for you. '
'Never Fade Away', is narrated by one of the characters in the story, Yohan. Yohan is madly in love with Aditi, who is a strong-headed lady and philanthropic. The couples in this book share a very adorable, transparent, and mature relationship considering they are still in college. The four of them encounter goons who deal in women trafficking and somehow manage to survive and get them punished. This book points out how strategic these people are who abduct women and how difficult it becomes to come out of that situation.
Overall, the author has very nicely created a plot and linked every connection, character, and instance with one another. And creatively approached the audience embedding the importance of protecting women against crime.
Thankyou Chetan Batra for talking about these sensitive issues. People need awareness about these things and talking about what's goes into the lives of people stuck in such a situation is very heartwarming.
Book Review : Never Fade Away Author : Chetan Batra @achetanbatra Publisher : Big Foot 08 Publication Pages : 122 Genre : Fiction Rating : 4.5 ________________________________________ About the book : The book is a rollar-coster ride. I am writing my views on this book keeping in mind when I got the book I flipped pages. I usually read by flipping the book till the end so I thought there are many small stories written on different Topics. To my surprise I was really wondering this book was is based on a story of four friends that is divided into different chapters I will introduce you to the four characters which has given a entirely different end to the story. This book represents life. Where you can relate each character as your own Story. I has all the elements in it love, care, happiness, sweetness, joy and also it teaches us alot. (Ruchi, Aditi, Vineet, Kanav) These were the four friends it started with collage. Like movies we can witness every emotion in this book. The book has a great plot !! I don't want to disclose the plot of the book because the story will have no impact on readers.
I got to learn new things from this book : As the author quoted : We’ve begun to raise daughters more like sons… but few have the courage to raise our sons more like our daughters. This is one of the most influential lines that I could read in the starting of the book. I am really glad I got something powerful which gave me strength that still there are people who think there sons should be raised like our daughters. _______________________________________ About the author : About the Author Chetan Batra is a law graduate, writer, poet and blogger born and raised in Ludhiana. 22-year-old Chetan has a keen interest in crime fiction. Never Fade Away by Chetan Batra. The title of this book Never Fade Away looks interesting and it can grab attention of readers towards it though it is emotional and heart wrenching. The cover of the book contains two couples holding their hands in the natural environment near the beach with a beautiful and colourful sky when sun at its sunset point. It's a story of different characters named Yohan, Aditi, Richa and Vineet. They are friends with each other. Story is fast paced and soon it changed its track and try to engross readers in its different plot when the story starts with many current problems like rape, girl trafficking, corruption, sexual assault and many more problems. The story starts with rape with the murder of a student belonging to their college. As all these 4 characters are central characters in this story. So they get involved with the investigation of rape and murder along with police department. But they face various problems during this. All the characters are plotted well and narration goes well. Language and grammar is simple and lucid and easy to read and understand for all. This story is interesting because there are many incidents which is present in this that are inspired by real incidents and tells about what happens everyday in our country. As it is a romance cum social issues story so it is worth reading for all romance readers.
Never Fade Away, by Chetan Batra is a story based on romance and drama. Firstly, the title is apt and connected well with the plot of the story, the cover is beautiful, depicting the silhouette of a couple giving all the lovey-dovey vibes indicating the genre of the book very well.
The story is about the couple, Yohan and Aditi, who fall in love with each other, and Yohan, not willing to take it slow, rushes into a relationship with Aditi. Initially they enjoy their time as a new found couple madly in love with each other, but soon they find themselves webbed in the complexities of life.
The story also focuses on 4 college students, including the couple, and how they become an important part of an ongoing investigation at their college regarding the abduction, rape and murder of their fellow college student.
The plot describes well, the values of responsibility as the citizens, as a friend by the 4 characters of the story sending out the message to all youngsters out there to step up for their fellow mates in times of trouble and need.
Though the narration felt rushed at some points, all in all it was a nice gripping read till the end. Not at all cheesy, rather a more mature narration which was a striking feature of the book.
It was well received, and so I recommend it to all romance lovers out there.
The story is about 4 friends; Aditi, Yohan, Vineet and Ruchi revolving around various social issues ranging from eve teasing to girl trafficking. The story jumps from one issue to another real quick and is fast paced. It’s just not a simple teenage love story; but it also has a touch of suspense. It shows the other side of the society in which the characters get involved and how the story unfolds to what they have in destiny. In certain phases the story seems to be over dramatic or a bit unrealistic to be true, but then it can be waved off as a work of imagination. Ignoring the couple of grammatical mistakes, the language is easy. The love story of the characters are portrayed very mature. As some parts of the story was inspired from the real life incidents, it becomes easy for the readers to visualize the emotions. The cover is quite in line with the story and its climax. Overall it’s a good quick read. Painfully Beautiful: 2.8/5

Among all this the love story of Aditi And yohan and VIshal And Riya also flourishes and give a special feeling of being in love.I really loved the way the story is narrated and presented. a must read.
Aditi, Yohan, Vineet, and Ruchi you will be remembered always. and a big thanks to Chetan Batra for framing such a beautiful story and sharing it with the readers. The story was encapsulated with a lot of ups and downs and there was a lot that kept me engaged throughout the book.
I would recommend readers to pick this one as it is a must-read and the author has really done a lot of hard work to make this story a success.
Kudos to the author and a lot of wishes to all his upcoming stories.
With "Never Fade Away" the author has created a complete package consisting of romance, thrill and suspense! The way gears are switched in the whole book is worth mentioning. Characters are well developed and offer different perspectives. Language is lucid which makes the book more universal. The climax was what I can call as out of the box and I liked it.
There are very books written by Indian authors that offer that entertaining blend of romance and suspense, this book has to be one of them. I was expecting just another romantic tale but I was proved wrong. From the very first page it had me hooked and the ending only left me asking for more. The language used is also very easy to understand and I loved the book cover. Kuddos to the author!
