And Baby Makes Three: The Next Generation #1-2

The Heart of Hill Country: The Littlest Angel / Natural Born Trouble

Rate this book
The Littlest Angel

Angela Adams refuses to have anything to do with her unborn baby’s reluctant father—much less marry him! True, her pregnancy was unexpected, but Clint Brady didn’t have to act so dazed when she announced her impending motherhood. And while Clint admits his reaction could have been more enthusiastic, the thought of baby bottles and diaper pins was enough to rattle even a rugged rancher like himself. But now that the shock has passed, nothing is going to come between Clint and fatherhood—not even stubborn Angela!

Natural Born Trouble

Texan Dani Adams was through with single dads. Never again would she brush away their children’s tears or bandage scraped knees. Instead, she’d care for the sick animals brought to her veterinary practice. She’d find fulfillment—without the heartache. Then sexy single dad Duke Jenkins and his adorable twins moved to town, and he was determined to make Dani his kids’ mother! His soul-searing kisses, warm embraces and his children’s antics are quickly melting her resolve. But is Dani heading for another disappointment…or down the aisle to meet her groom?

With two other careers to her credit before becoming a novelist and four states in which she's lived for extended periods of time, Sherryl Woods has collected friends and memories, along with way too much unnecessary junk.

"The friends are the only things I've brought with me through the years that really matter," she says. "I could probably live without one more chintz teacup, another tin-litho sandpail or another snowglobe, but I need those friends."

The theme of enduring friendships and families is always central to Sherryl's books, including her latest Chesapeake Shores series — THE INN AT EAGLE POINT, FLOWERS ON MAIN and HARBOR LIGHTS.

Author of more than 100 romance and mystery novels, Sherryl Woods grew up in Virginia. Over the years she had lived in Ohio and Florida, as well as California. Currently she divides her time between Key Biscayne, Florida and Colonial Beach, Virginia, the small, river-front town where she spent her childhood summers.

A graduate of Ohio State University School of Journalism, Sherryl spent more than ten years as a journalist, most of them as a television critic for newspapers in Ohio and Florida. For several years she also coordinated a motivational program for the more than 8,000 employees at the University of Miami-Jackson Memorial Medical Center.

Her first book, RESTORING LOVE, was published in 1982 by Dell Candlelight Ecstasy under the pseudonym of Suzanne Sherrill. Her second book, SAND CASTLES, under the pseudonym of Alexandra Kirk, was published later that same year by Bantam. She began using her own name when she moved to the Second Chance at Love line at Berkley Publishing. In 1986, she began writing full-time and also began her long career at Silhouette Books with the Desire title NOT AT EIGHT, DARLING, set in the world of television which she covered for so many years.

In addition to her more than 75 romances for Silhouette Desire and Special Edition, she has written thirteen mysteries — nine in the Amanda Roberts series and four in the Molly DeWitt series.

When she's not writing or reading, Sherryl loves to garden, though she's not at her best on a riding lawn mower. She also loves tennis, theater, and ballet, even though her top spin has long since vanished, she's never set foot on a stage, and she's way too uncoordinated to dance. She also loves baseball and claims anyone who's ever seen Kevin Costner in "Bull Durham" can understand why.

Not her best in my opinion

I was never able to put a book from Sherryl Woods down before. This time I had a hard time finishing it. Maybe because I like her East coast stories better because of where they are placed. I don't know.

This book is made up of two stories set in west Texas. The Littlest Angel is the story of Angela Adams who left her family home. In Montana she met a cowboy that she thought was her happily ever after. When she tells him she is pregnant, Clint does not respond like she would have liked, so she leaves in the middle of the night. After living in several places, and close to her due date, she decides it would be best for her to go back to Texas and be with her family. Unknown to her, Clint has been trying to find her, and stumbles on the information he needs. Clint is determined to marry Angela and make a home for his family in Montana.
Natural Born Trouble, the second story, is about Dani Adams, the small town veterinarian, who is determined never to get involved again with a man with children. Then she meets Dude Jenkins, a father of twin boys, who is determined to marry her and make her his boys’ step-mother. Dani does a good job of resisting even though she is attracted to the man.
Both of these stories were a fun read. Sherryl Wood has written two more heartwarming stories about the Adams family in Texas. They are well paced stories, with likable characters. I think anyone who likes a good romance will like Ms Woods books.

Both stories were good, the outcome was obvious. The storyline on both held my interest. The stories were about two women in the Adams family, one very rebellious and on the run. Angel was anxious to leave the family ranch life and go on her own. Dani stayed in town and was the local vet, but she had been burned in romance and was not ready to fall into that situation again.

Sherryl Woods books never disappoint! This book is two stories of the Adams family in Texas. Both stories are about the Adams women stubbornly holding out to the men that love them. The Adams men particularly Grampa are throwing there options in.

The Heart of Hill Country contains two wonderful stories by Sherryl Woods. Each story is heartwarming with just enough angst to keep those pages turning. Loved every minute of it and was sorry for it to end.

Two great reads by Ms. Woods. Really enjoy reading a series where the characters can be found in each book. The Adams family makes for a great story. Look forward to more.
