Alice White, the lone investigator for a law firm, takes on a new assignment.... a gang of con artists led by a vicious leader.. He has recruited a young man and framed him for a murder he didn't commit to insure his loyalty.
Her task is to free the young man and prove him innocent of murder. And because she normally jumps in with both feet, she want to tackle the leader where it hurts ... his wallet. Planning on how to con the con man out of a fortune will be a bit tricky ...especially as she never seems to wait for the police.
it seems to be a free-for-all, with twists and turns around every corner. Everyone has a story, but does everyone tell the truth? It's a well written romp through the streets of the Bronx with outstanding characters. Alice is a true gem. While the story takes places in the 1950s, Alice would blend in very well in today's world. She's fearless and determined, and she loves what she does .. almost a modern Wonder Woman. Secondary characters are also solidly drawn.
Many thanks to the author for the digital copy of this compelling mystery. Read and reviewed voluntarily, opinions expressed here are unbiased and entirely my own.
I have enjoyed reading these 3 books. I hope that Dr. Marc continues to write. Sure would like to be able to get some of his books on Kindle Unlimited. I may have to wait until I can afford them otherwise.
The Con Case by March Hirsh is another superb adventure. Mystery, law, and suspense are displayed here. Alice White is a young woman juggling her academics and career like any other normal human being. But what makes her stand out is the way she solves crimes. She is always fighting crime with determination, strength, and intellect. It was hard not to love her. Alice just has a luring personality that brought me into her story. Marc Hirsh captivated me with his words. I was instantly lost as I followed Alice through another law/criminal case. Danger and threats are sure to follow wherever Alice went. Overall, I recommend this mystery read to all.
I received this copy from the publisher. This is my voluntary review.
