Well, I enjoyed this quite a bit. It was much better than I had envisioned. Except. Yes, I know, there always seems to be a bit, a caveat or some silly exception doesn’t there? In this case, I’d thought I was getting a complete story. Yes, I knew that this was part of a larger set. But I still was under the impression that this was a complete tale. It is not. And in fact, this is, not literally of course but figuratively, a cliff-hanger. That was a bit upsetting.

There’s not a whole lot of detectoring going on in this first part of a series and it’s all a set up for what’s to come.

The voice of an elderly Holmes is excellent but one character’s overlong death is tedious rather than tense.
