Welcome to Cedar Falls, a small North Carolina town nestled amongst the Smokey Mountains. Where the people are friendly and the men are hot. Crow Huntley had been shot and ended up in a coma. When he woke up, he discovered his life was over. Not only would he never be able to do the job he loved, but he might actually never walk again. Tarq Havish had spent months wooing Crow. Just when he'd finally gotten his man, Crow had been shot and pushed Tarq away once more. If Crow thought that would stop Tarq from doing whatever it takes to get their happily ever after, he had better think again. Tarq had no problem playing dirty, even if it meant calling in help from some unlikely friends. Warning: Let the hijinks begin. Expect anything and everything from Bigfoot to cheers that will force Crow to get back on his feet and into Tarq's bed.

Oh this book made me so happy. But sad too. I hate that there's not another book. I want more. But I was so happy to see Crow getting another story. He's been through hell and it's time for him to be able to move on. Tarq has been in love with Crow, pretty much since he laid eyes on the man. But all they do is bicker. Or did. They were finally getting to the point of dating and expressing their attractions to each other, when robbers decided to come in to rob the casino on New Year's Eve. Crow took a shower meant for Tarq and where it hit, he was not only lucky to be alive but the possibility of walking again. He was in a coma for months, thanks to hitting his head on the floor and a chip ricocheting off his head. But now that he's awake and told he may not be able to walk, he's lost all hope in life. For him, it's payback for not being able to save Kayden. But Tarq has had enough of this and has employed some help to get Crow off his ass and stop wallowing. Leave it to Jesse and crew to come up with cheerleading outfits and cheers to goad him on. At first, Crow was horrified. But as time went on, he'd never admit it, but he was glad they were there. Especially Tarq. He needed that support. And when Tarq finds out why Crow has been holding back, it tears him apart. But he has to get Crow to realize that nothing was his fault. There was nothing he could do amd life was for living and loving. But if Tarq can't convince him, there may not be anything for them. But Tarq wasn't giving up. Survivor's guilt is a hell of a thing. Especially when it's someone you love. Kayden's death left him a shell for a while. What was sad was that he wasn't even in love with the man anymore. It was the point. He should have been able to save him. And even if they weren't in love, they were still friends. After getting shot himself, that was the icing on the cake. He lived in fear now. Who would be killed next? And would he not be able to save them again? It took Danton falling off the stage and hurting himself that caused it all to be brought back to life. And he could no longer deny what he was feeling. He had to tell Tarq. I broke so bad for him. Fear is debilitating. But what I loved is that Tarq wasn't giving up. What else I loved is with these festivals, even with the goofiness of Bigfoot, people starting seeing the real side to Jesse. The one that anonymously helps people. And quietly does things to save people's prides. Yeah, he acts like a queen of epic proportions, but people are starting to see some of it's an act, and there's a brain behind the flash. And this town is going to thrive if it's the last thing Jesse does.
Rating: 4 stars The only thing preventing me from giving this a higher rating was the MCs. I just couldn’t connect with either Tarq or Crow in the beginning. They both grew on me though and I liked them much more by the end. What really made this book for me was Jesse and his friends. I know some may find him irritating as a character, but I just love his antics. They make me smile. I especially love his obsession with Bigfoot. Hopefully, the author continues the series as I am really enjoying it.
Love brought them together, and a disaster almost broke them apart. It was a long painful journey for both of them. But, with all the struggle and determination, love brought them back together again. I really enjoyed reading this series and I'm looking forward to reading many more.
Each book in the Cedar Falls collection features a different romantic couple. To enjoy the overall story arc and crossover characters, I would recommend reading the series in sequential order.
Crow and Tarq has been sniffing around each other for awhile now but mostly spend their time snarling. When a robbery at the casino ends in Crow being badly injured, it looks like nothing is ever going to go their way. It would take a great big power to get Crow to even attempt to try to get better. So he calls in the big guns, you know who I am talking about. Slinky tops, short shorts that show the butt cheeks and high boots while dancing at the top of their lungs is Jesse’s speciality. Tarq is going to make sure Crow gets better or get killed doing it.
I am always glad to see Jesse and the gang getting together. Their stunts always make for a better story. I felt bad for Crow but I am afraid he came off a bit weaker than expected, even after getting shot. There was just something about him that didn’t ring right, but didn’t really take away from the story. I like how Tarq did everything he could to help the one he loved. As always this story was a blast of fun and laughs.
I had a blast reading this and can not wait to get my hands on the next story. I can guarantee that it will be one of those stories that will be read more than once.
Hopefully this is not the end of this great mm romance series. Each book focuses on an individual couple while characters of all previous books make varying appearances. This book follows the troubled relationship between Crow a member of the casino security team and Tarq a chef at one of the casino restaurants. Crow is badly injured during a robbery of the casino interrupting the beginning of their dating. Crow is morose at the lost of his ability to continue his job and pushes everyone away including Tarq. How we get to our HEA is both sad and hilarious and well worth reading.
I love these characters. They are just so entertaining, so loving, so caring. Just gotta LOVE Jesse. Story of Crow and Tarq. MM. Great enjoyable entertaining read. Recommend the series and the Book.
What an incredable series I cannot believe i went through all 25 and am still begging for more in this series It is an incredable job how the author keeps these books entertaining and so worth while Thanks for this incredable series <3
