Wolves of Mist Peak #1

Off Limits Omega

He'll risk everything for love. Even if it means going back to war.

Alexander, an alpha of the Webber pack, was orphaned at the age of 7 in a war with the Kurrens that took his entire family from him. A truce was negotiated between the two packs that has gone on for twenty years, but when Alexander saves a sweet omega from the terrible Larcon Kurren, he puts that truce in jeopardy.

Blue Mitchell’s parents are splitting up and he’s moving across the country from Santa Monica to Sleepy Hill, Colorado to finish his senior year. Looking for shifter friends and companionship, he accepts an invitation to get drinks with a handsome alpha, but soon realizes he’s made an awful mistake.

Larcon slips something in Blue’s drink and intends to bring him back to his compound—just another omega to add to his captive harem. But Alexander, having picked up Blue’s scent and recognized it as the scent of his fated-mate, saves the beautiful boy from a life of enslavement.

Eric, the Webbers pack leader, is furious. Alexander has put the truce in jeopardy, and the lives and safety of the rest of the pack with it. So, when Alexander is at work, he betrays him and hands Blue over to the Larcon.

Alexander is furious. It’s time for him to step up and be the alpha pack leader he’s destined to be. But will he act in time to save Blue from the clutches of the Kurrens, and prevent a war?

…Finding your fated-mate…something most shifters only dream about, and Alexander isn’t about to let his chance as everlasting love slip away…

Off-Limits Omega is Book 1 in a brand new Mpreg series from Aspen Grey, featuring a vibrant Omegaverse, strong alphas and sweet omegas, conflict and struggle, sweetness and spice, knotty goodness and a blissful HEA. You may need some ice to cool your Kindle down…enjoy ;)

Waaay too much testosterone. The alpha and the omega were really just together because of their scent/ fated mates status. And although i like this theme, here it was just not natural. The alpha never would have been interested in the omega if not for the scent.

I didn't really understand this .... young Omega/older Alpha who only care about....breeding?? No back story that I could find reference to... and it needed back story info and clarification in most parts of the story for me. Betrayal that in most other shifter books would have resulted in death or at the very least banishment! I could go on, but I won't. I....😒 hmmm... not sure if I'll try the next book, which actually makes me sad cause I LIKE this author!

Hm. So this was an overall okay read, but there were too many little things that bugged me.
Blue is a really fun protagonist, he's adorably young and naive. But really all the characters are disappointingly underdeveloped. The pack members didn't even have one superficial character trait to keep them apart. At best they had a job within the pack to remember them by.
Everything happens superfast, there is no getting to know each other, no planing, no building up either the romance or the suspense part. Of course we're used to instalove between fated mates, but first meeting, rescuing, sex, marriage and impregnating all happen within two (maybe three?) days!
Other than that: Why are they shifting to wolf-form to climb trees?
How can Blue go to a human school pregnant with a belly "like a watermelon" without anyone noticing?
How did Eric become alpha when nobody (including himself) thinks that's a good idea?
At the end Blue is "still a bit peeved" at Eric - for effing handing him over to a psychopath to be his sexslave! Duh!
While giving birth Blue decides to slow down the process to wait for Alex. And when he's there they happily discuss names first before deciding it's time to push now. Seriously??
So yeah. The writing is good enough to make this an okay inbetween read, but the plot needs some serious work.

This book had a lot of 5 star reviews and blurb was pretty enticing. I love a good omega verse book. This book sparked alot of issues for me.. such as the omega being too young, he's still in high school and gets preganant only after his second time!
The use of the word breeding and bred was so cringe worthy. Overall this story lacked depth. It was smut thrown in with a bit of angst. Not my cup of tea.
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.

In this new series we see a whole new side to the way she writes her books and this one truly blew me away. I love how the immediate connection between Blue and Alexander was right off the bat. They way that it was told set up an amazing new telling of a new story. I can't wait until book 2 comes out. I give it 5 stars. I voluntarily read and reviewed this book as an Advanced Reader's Copy

After his parents split up, a young shifter omega, Blue Mitchell, and his father move to a small town of Sleepy Hill. Surrounded by ordinary people, desiring the closeness of another person belonging to his race, the boy quickly gets into trouble when he trusts a handsome stranger, Larcon Kurren. The man invites him for a drink and drugs him, wanting to make Blue part of his harem. Unexpectedly, an alpha belonging to the pack competing with the Kurrens, Alexander, comes to his aid. It turns out that the stories about fated-mates are true as for the sake of saving Blue, Alex risks the peace between two living nearby packs without blinking an eye.

"Off Limits Omega" is the first volume of a new series by Aspen Gray "Wolves of Mist Peak". The first thing I would like to focus on while reviewing this novel is Blue, a young high school student who has just come of age. I admit that when I started reading "Off Limits Omega" I didn't expect that one of the main characters will be so young. However, very soon this fact became the main reason I was smiling like crazy, because the author really managed to fully present Blue's youth, taking into account everything that goes with his age. And so we find here some mistakes made because of innocence, interest in a handsome guy, great true love, which results in a lack of obedience to parents, and huge dose of romance filled thoughts. The readers, who start to remember themselves when they were at the same age as our protagonist, simply can't stop smiling while reading about the adventures of the young omega.

A narrative is of great importance in the creation of two main characters – our young protagonist and his older partner – as it distinguishes Blue from Alex, emphasizing their age difference. Alexander is a young man in his late twenties, so as we look at the events of this novel from his perspective, we get a more straightforward, concise picture of the situation. It's completely different when we see the world through Blue's eyes. The boy very often flies with wings of imagination, which makes his descriptions rich in elaborate, strongly romantic comparisons. When Blue has a say, his life turns into a poem. Undoubtedly, this is a big advantage of "Off Limits Omega" because it gives us a full sense of how the main characters see the world. You can't even imagine how many times I rolled my eyes while having a big grin on my face when I was reading all these amazingly colorful descriptions of Blue's.

What I consider important in this novel is that the author emphasizes the differences between people's and shifters' way of thinking and acting. Undoubtedly, this has an impact on how we see the presented story, as well as the characters. Let's be honest, while most readers of "Off Limits Omega" will think this novel is "just a fiction", some readers may start to think about what's hidden "underneath" the story and start to compare this novel to our real world. That's why I like the fact that the author emphasizes that we are not dealing here with ordinary people and their social principles, but with shifters who are largely different, not only physically, but also mentally and socially.

Another thing that I really appreciate in "Off Limits Omega" is the fact that the author has paid attention to Blue's education. Even if this topic doesn't play the most important role in the novel, I think it is very important to stress it. After all, it is an element of creation of this universe, which shows that omegas' role doesn't have to revolve around staying at home and raising children. Sure, that's the most important thing for them, but it's not their only option. Thus, omega is not a slave to his gender, and the role of a staying at home father is somewhat a choice, not a duty. To some extent, it also increases the omegas' value, because it allows them to have other functions than only reproductive one.

In conclusion, "Off Limits Omega" is a nice, easy to read novel which provides us with entertainment. If you want to feel young again, I strongly recommend you this book. Reading it, you will really feel like being a young adult again, and, just like Blue, you may make mistakes of youth and experience a great, perfect love.

Mężczyzna zaprasza go na drinka i odurza, chcąc uczynić Blue częścią swojego haremu. Niespodziewanie z pomocą chłopcu przychodzi alfa należący do watahy konkurującej z Kurrenami, Alexander. Okazuje się, że historie o przeznaczonych sobie przez los partnerach są prawdziwe i dla ratowania Blue, Alex bez mrugnięcia okiem ryzykuje pokój między dwiema zamieszkującymi okolicę watahami.

„Off Limits Omega” jest pierwszym tomem nowej serii autorstwa Aspen Grey „Wolves of Mist Peak”.

Blue Mitchell moves to Sleepy Hill, Colorado with his alpha father, after his omega father cheats. Blue isn't too sure of the new town as he doesn't sense any shifters in the school. On his first day of school his father is late to pick him up so he accepts an offer of a ride from an alpha he describes as "douchey". His instincts tell him to be wary but he goes with alpha douch Larcon anyway. Larcon is the alpha leader of the Kurren pack. Next thing Blue knows he's drugged and in the process of being kidnapped. In steps Alexander, the alpha from the Webber pack. He's just stopping at the local bar, for an after work drink, when he smells his fated mate. Saving Blue from Larcon brings trouble to the Webber pack and Blue's relationship with his father. There's a traitor in the Webber pack that spells trouble for Blue and Alex that culminates in a battle.

This was a good story line that was very poorly executed. The dialogue between Blue and Alex is childish and cringe worthy throughout most of the story. The fact that Blue thinks flirting with Larcon, when he first meets him, by saying "you wanna breed me?" is just gross. That breeding/being bred are mentioned several times is cringe worthy. At the beginning of the big battle Alex is thinking they're outnumbered. I don't understand that as the Webbers have 5 alphas: Alex, Eric, Jasper, Tyrese and Mr. Mitchell and the Kurrens have 3 alphas and 2 betas: Larcon, Marco, Tony, 2 unnamed betas. At the outset they should have been equal, if not the Webbers having a slight advantage. The fact that Blue's omega father is never around is odd to me. Yeah he cheated, so the marriage broke up, but you don't just forget that there's a kid out there that you carried and delivered. He didn't call, write or come to Blue's graduation. Also as another reviewer mentioned, Blue is described as having a large stomach but still going to school but the humans don't know about shifters. This made no sense. The fact that the Webber pack member that betrays Alex and Blue gets off scot free. Riggght!!!

I won't be finishing this series or reading anymore books by this author. I can not figure out why there are so many 4 & 5 star reviews. This book is just awful. Won't recommend anyone read this book.

Wow... That was... That was AMAZING!

Well, I don't like omegaverse because the few I've read had me traumatized. So I went with this reading with little to no expectations. The blurb was so good and I've heard such good things about Aspen Grey writing, I had to give it a shot.

The shifting POV didn't bothered me (usually does), because it was done well. The character building, and the romance had an incredible pace. It kept me glued to the book the whole time. Nothing was too rushed and the omegaverse aspect is really nice (no cheating! Yay!). Also, the book has a lot of action.

The last chapter (not the epilogue) really overwhelmed me, I so surprised and excited... I've read it twice, because was that good. lol

The MC's are real and likeable. The alpha is not a douche neither want to overpower his omega, he really want a lover, a mate. And our omega is strong and determined. Their HEA is well deserved.

Really good start to the series

I received this book by the author and This is my honest opinion.
This author is back to 5 stars with This book as I just loved it😍The book is slightly longer than the author's usual fare but oh my it gave us plenty of detail and story for it plus character development. This book was about Blue who after his parents messy divorce sets up living with his alpha dad. Encountering an alpha who is not one of the good guys it leads to him meeting his destined mate and all the dangers of that incidental meeting. I enjoyed Blue and Alexander as characters and how they interacted with each other❤. The secondary characters were well formatted too, and which is setting up for a good series as each find there happily ever afters. Sweet with action it took us through an interesting journey and one I'm looking forward to continuing in book 2.

Good couple, but lots of plot holes

There were aspects of this plot that just didn't make any sense to me. What caused the war between the Webbers and the Kurrens? If all of the Webbers that survived were children when the peace was formed (excepting the leader who abandoned them, I assume), what stopped Lorcan from talking over years ago? Wouldn't something like a history of pack rivalries be something that Terrence would have researched before moving his omega son there? I can't think of any place in Colorado, let alone within an hour of Denver that has weather like the Pacific Northwest...

Alexander and Blue were a pretty cute couple, and I liked that they found a very satisfactory HEA.

Wow…

This book was ridiculous. Plenty of spoilers ahead because that’s the only way I can explain the ridiculousness of this book…

So the omega MC is an 18 yo old HS senior, named Blue, who moves to a sleepy mountain town with his alpha dad after his parents divorce… yet he says shifters don’t get married later in the book… Anyway, on first day of school, because his dad is running 15 minutes late to pick him up (discussed via text/it’s also dad’s first day at work in the lumberyard there), he decides that’s it’s perfectly okay to get into a pick up truck with a man he describes as in his late twenties or so because he’s the first shifter he’s seen in the town… 🤔 at which point he commences to get ruffied when going to a bar that only had them as patrons, no name one it etc… the bartender seems to be the one that slipped the drug into the drink, but she knows the man and what he does, which is kidnap omegas and put them in his harem against their will. Just to let you know… no one says anything to this bartender the entire book, even after taking out the antagonist, Larcon leader of the Kurren pack. First of all, why is this grown ass man patrolling the HS parking lot? That would have been my first red flag…But anyway, that was just to let you know how dumb the boy is and he keeps doing dumb shit like this throughout the entire book.

The story is written very poorly. For example, the harem omegas are rescued by the MC but theirs barely any mention of them after that until the end. They were said to have been kidnapped by the ANT, but from where? There are only two “packs” in Sleepy whatever town and each one has between 5-10 members… yet the author makes a “war” between them. So where did these omegas come from. Why didn’t they go home? Where are their families since it doesn’t seem like they were related to either pack.

It seems like Alex’s pack, the Alpha Protagonist, the Webbers, is the only one with a female. The ANT’s right hand alpha just disappeared after being spoken of in the first incident created by Blue and his stupidity. The Webber pack had been wiped out 22 years ago by the Kurren pack when Alex was only 6, and every other member seems to be roughly the same age as him… so who raised these kids and how was a truce formed with kids? They all seem to have the Webber name but don’t act like they are related other than by being pack mates… So it’s a toss up at who’s supposed to be in charge. Oh and each pack has multiple alphas! Like, WTF. I mean, I’ve seen that before but it was written that they worked together seamlessly and it made sense. This… doesn’t make sense. They don’t all act like alphas at all. I’m not sure what Clarice, the only female, is. She wasn’t said to be an alpha, beta, or omega…even though she’s seems to have supposed to be a vital character…🤔

I’m not sure of Larcon’s age other than Blue’s description of him when Mr creepy was in the parking lot, but he also seems to have been young when the “war” ended.

Hector, the previous leading alpha that took over after the war, was said to have up and disappeared, apparently using pheromone blocker to cover his tracks. Now why would he just abandon his pack? We don’t know because nothing ever came of it and it made no sense for him to do so. There was no mention of any conflict between them. Eric took over on his own volition and made some pretty damning choices as leader, like sacrificing Blue to Larcon for his harem after already in knowing he was Alex’s fated mate, yet Alex allowed him to stay in the house which he said was his, built by him after his family home was burned down in the previous war… 🤔Who does that? You wouldn’t be in my house when I finally find my fated mate, something apparently rare, and you allow my enemy into my house to take them from me! I don’t think the author thought through what they were writing at all…

None of the things in this story make sense. It’s like the author thought of a path for the story, laid some ground work then abandoned it to change course, only to abandon that and go an entirely different direction forgetting that the previous groundwork for each path was already in place and leaving plotholes, inconsistencies and confusion in its wake make this a horrible read! Even the ending sucked despite being a HEA.

I cannot recommend this book.

See my notes, highlights and commentary on Goodreads. Happy reading!

My Opinion:
Alexander stops at a bar after getting a ticket from the local cop when he sees an enemy wolf’s vehicle. On his way inside he smells the most delicious fragrance, his fated mate. Blue is naive and innocent, and frankly, a little dumb. I mean, who says they won’t drug, kidnap, or rape you within 5 minutes of meeting you and then wants you to leave with them? Nevertheless, Alexander pulls through, and rescues Blue from Larcon’s clutches (multiple times, thanks to a big betrayal). But they eventually mate, make a sweet little Alpha boy. I do like the scene at about 89%. Love a good switch up.

This story/series is.. like… a mash up of romance and smut (until book 5, holy moley). Because of this I am going to look at it just like that, from a romance perspective and a smutty heat filled perspective.

*WARNING* contains adult m/m sexual situations
Alexander lost everything to the rival pack on the other side of the mountain. Alex has a small pack with a defacto leader and the same disgusting pack on the other side of the mountain, although theirs us smaller too. Alex does not agree with his packs defacto leader, so when it comes to saving the omega, will there be war with the rival pack or within his own.
Blue did not want to move to these mountains, but he won't tell his dad that. Blue seems to be the only shifter at his school too. When a handsome older shifter offers to give Blue a ride, he is to relieved at finding another shifter to think about the consequences.
This has got a bit of everything. I like that there is turmoil within their own pack, often times its always peachy. I really like that some of the other shifters are described as covered in layers of fat, all shifters books I have read, always have them perfectly fit and stunningly handsome. The story has quite few things that stray frim the "norm", I think that makes it worth reading.

This was an engrossing story. I liked the idea of small wolf shifter packs existing so close to the humans who remained unaware of them. I did have a few issues. For example, why did Blue's omega dad disappear from his life completely? It was the dads who got divorced, and I know Blue was angry. But I think his other father should have at least been in contact. My main complaint was when a shifter made a choice that made me completely hate him. I don't care if he thought he was protecting the pack. He was dead to me after that, and I was angry that the person he betrayed would have to continue being around him.
Issues aside, I thought this was a really good story. (Actually, I think having things that bothered me proves how invested I was while immersed in this world.) I enjoyed the relationship between Blue and Alexander, and I definitely look forward to the next book in the series.

Blue moves to a new town with his father after his parents' divorce and almost immediately finds himself in the middle of trouble. Drugged and the intended victim of an omega kidnapping, Blue is luckily saved by the Alpha wolf shifter Alexander. There is no choice but to step in and help when he scent you Fated Mate, afterall. Even if it opens a whole new world of trouble.

Blue and Alexander are amazing characters that I absolutely love. Their connection is sweet and sexy and their story entertaining. The supporting characters are interesting and help the story keep you reading. Romance - sweet and steamy- mix well with the drama and action. It's a fun read!

I received an advanced reader's copy of the book and I am voluntarily leaving my honest review and recommendation.

Blue and his father move to Mist Peak and he gets into trouble but is rescued by Alexander his mate.
After his fathers get divorced Blue moved to Mist Peak with his father Terrence moving to a house in the woods and finds himself attending a human school. While waiting for his dad he accepts a lift and ends up in a bar and drugged. Alexander is driving when he get a whiff of a scent that her recognizes as as his fated mate but he seems to have been taken by an evil shifter. He follows the scent and manages to get him away to safety. A MM Mpreg romance to relax and enjoy.

It was OK

1.5 rounded up. (I don't even know why I'm rounding it up, maybe because the editing was OK, and I've recently read one that was horrible)

It was OK. It didn't rock my world but it wasn't completely bad. I liked the world, since I don't mind omegaverse /mpreg, what I didn't connect much with were the main characters. I found them a bit childish, both of them, and I admit to have issues with abusing the word "baby" (*grimace*) but that's a me issue. It was also a lust at first sight that, even though they are fated mates and it's the only setting I'm willing to overlook it, it was also love at first sight and I prefer my couples to get to know each other a lil' better even if they are fated mates.

DNF at 30%

The writing is just okay.. very juvenile but not horrible. I can’t get over the fact that Blue is still in high school and no one thinks it’s weird for an adult man to be dating him? Okay so he’s 18 (which we only find out 20% into the book) but he’s very clearly a child. It’s a little gross to read Alex saying he’s young all the time but then excuse that he’s old enough to sleep with immediately. Personally, I just can’t get behind stories like that. If they had time to get to know each other and maybe Blue graduated first I wouldn’t think it was so bad but I definitely didn’t want to keep reading.

Fierce and, oh so delicious!!!😍😍😍

A beautiful story of fated mates and the trouble they get up to!😁 Fun and exciting, you can't help but fall for the sweet, naive omega who is so young and dumb. ( weren't we all at some point!😋)... And then there's his fated...Sexy and damaged but strong and a true alpha just looking for love. Of course there's the repugnant rival alphahole, morally black.😒😶 Aspen Grey has created an omegaverse within the human world with a compelling and suspenseful storyline!🤔 I highly recommend adding this to your library!😘

Another new series from this author and this is book 1 and what a way to start. I have been a fan of Aspen Grey's for awhile now and the way that this book is written proves why. Blue and Alexander knew from the beginning that they were meant for each other and nothing stopped them. We had a bit of drama, action, family and love all wrapped up in one book. Looking forward to see what book 2 brings. Enjoy.

Love this new shifter romance read!

This first book in a new shifter romance was a great read from start to finish. Alexander and Blue’s character had chemistry that made for some hot and steamy loving. I enjoyed their story of finding love and their fight to be together to find their HEA. Can’t wait to see who finds their mate in the next book.

Loved it

This was so good. While I don't usually like my heroine so young, if he had been older this book wouldn't have made sense. I love the romance and chemistry between Blue and Alexander. It was so sweet and natural. Eric made you hate him with his staunch sense of peace and following the rules no matter what. I can't wait to read about him.

It was a good story.

Alexander and Blue found out that they were fated mates by a mishap on Blue's part. It sparked the beginnings of a war between two packs. The other thing that I want to point out, is that there is a mix up of the names of the characters. The editor should have caught it. Overall, the story was good. It had the ANGST that certain readers dwell on or expect.

I read and voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this story. Alexander and Blue's tale is the first in a new series. Kidnapping, spiked drinks, town newbie, and a truce between two rival packs on the line. Add in spicy bed springs and a fetching storyline, I say grab this one today.

Humor and love .

Humor and love what a perfect pairing . I have always been partial to Alpha and snarky omega series . This time their roles were reversed . It was done with humor and wit and it fit amazingly well.

I know moving to a knew town can be annoying in many ways for a teenager, and making new friends can be hard... but jumping into a car with a total stranger just because he's handsome and is similar to you... is ALWAYS a bad idea.

I should have read the summary because this had some serious ick factor. If you can get past the age thing, the fact that they planned a pregnancy while he was still in school just made me hate Alex. I dropped it.
