React Explained isn’t your first book on React. I think (as it was for me) this is your second book on React basics. Learning React by Kirupa Chinnathambi is how I got started with this subject, and React Explained was a decent follow-up. The text is a little dry, and I’ll admit my eyes started to glaze over at the end, but the examples were good, there were no significant errors (something I’ve noticed in other manuals) and the online source code is easy to locate and use.
I’d say it was mostly good…. Until you got to Firebase. The API changed August 2021 and the changes were breaking. After an exhaustive Google search I gave up because I was getting lost.
