I never have too much to say after finishing a Love Inspired Suspense book, and I don’t think this book will be any different. There were a few cheesy comments in regards to the romance and the pacing was fast-paced due to the short size of the book, but it was still an enjoyable read. It was fun having it set around Christmas and hearing a little bit about the season. I like the amnesia trope and while the medical jargon was a bit much at times, the story kept my attention and it flew by quickly.
Oh.my.goodness. Lisa Harris starts this story off with a bang! Literally. The heroine, Tory Faraday, is being transported to court by two FBI agents so she can testify against a murderer when the car is ambushed and she hits her head when the car wrecks. And now she can’t remember anything. Not why she was in the car. Not that she’d witnessed a murder. Nada. She isn’t sure she should trust Griffin O’Callaghan, even if he says he’s a deputy sheriff.
Griffin rescues Tory and is assigned as her bodyguard until the FBI can arrive. Timber Hills is hit by the snowstorm of the century and the FBI can’t reach them, while the man trying to kill Tory slipped into town before the storm hit.
This is an exciting cat and mouse game as the bad guys seem to be one step ahead of Griffin and Tory. I literally couldn’t put the book down because just when I would think I had it figured out, a new twist would take the story in a different direction. I started the book just before I went to bed and finished it that night.
If you like fast-paced action with plenty of suspense, you’ll love this book.
Blood chilling suspense with intrigue heighten to mountainous proportions add drama, tension, chill and thrill especially as the bullets fly. Run off the road and shot are two FBI Agents found by Deputy Griffin O'Callaghan who arrives at the scene. Tory Faraday, who witnessed a murder is found in the woods nearby. She is running from the assailants but she has lost her memory. Deputy Griffin O’Callaghan is assigned to protect Tory until the FBI can make the arrangements to come get her. But a huge snowstorm is hampering their travel. Even though Tory is Leary of Griffin, she discovers she needs him to survive. While Griffin was not aware that Tory would lead him into a situation that threatened their lives. A thrilling mystery with characters that have an undeniable attraction between them. This book has a riveting storyline, writing that is captivating. The story will grip the reader immediately and intensifies right up until the final word.
What do you do when you regain consciousness after an auto accident to discover someone is shooting at a person outside the car, the driver is slumped behind the steering wheel, and you have no memory of who you are or why you are there? Then the driver arouses and tells you to run for your life. I cannot imagine being in that situation. I forgot to include that you don’t know where you are. So how can you hope to escape whoever is after you when everything is stacked against you. Where do you run? The suspense is thick and continuous throughout the story as the young lady seeks to remember who she is while the deputy and others work to keep her safe and to capture the people who are chasing her. Only one thing is abundantly clear: the man behind the attack places no value on the life of anyone other than himself. He proves that throughout the story. Will the lady regain her memory? Does she have a family, a home, a job, or anywhere to return to? I appreciate the faith element apparent through the story. I like the picture on the cover of the book, but even that raises questions in my mind. Is any place truly safe when you are being chased by a cold-blooded killer? I received an advance copy of this book from the author. This is my honest review. All opinions are strictly my own.
Deputy Griffin O'Callaghan stops for what he believes is a vehicle accident but, upon closer inspection, finds two dead FBI agents, a woman's scarf, and two motorcycles parked behind the car. Hearing gunshots coming from the woods, he realizes the woman is still in danger. When Griffin finds her, he discovers she has no idea who she is or why the men are chasing her.
Making it to his car, they head to town. On the way, Griffin receives a call from the FBI informing him she is Victoria Faraday, a witness who was on her way to testify in a murder trial. With a blizzard approaching, he takes her to his family's ranch until the FBI can reach them. The storm, however, doesn't stop the murder suspect from escaping and causing Griffin and Tory to have to go on the run.
This is the second book of four in The O'Callaghan Brothers series. It is action-packed from beginning to end. Griffin's historical descriptions of the ranch make it a place one would love to live at. Another good, clean, faith-filled romance from Lisa Harris. I do wish there had been a bigger update on Liam and Gabby though.
I received a free copy of this book. I volunteered to read it and write a review.
Non-stop action and suspense made Christmas Witness Pursuit a real page-turner for me -- from the heart-in-throat first page through all the twists and turns of an angsty plot. Eyeballs glued to the page stuff -- which pretty much sums up anything Lisa Harris writes whether it's a Love Inspired Suspense or her longer romantic suspense novels published with Revell.
Love the hero and heroine battling the elements -- a fictional blizzard is the perfect kind of snowstorm for me! I can enjoy it with a cup of hot chocolate while reclining on my fainting couch in case dire events or surprise kisses threaten a swoonathon.
A pulse-rattling read-in-one-sitting suspense...with a wee bit of Christmas thrown in.
Tory & Griffin are chased by Jinx & his evil gang. I have to say I don't remember ever reading about a more tenacious & wily group of bad guys. They manage to escape prison & track down bvb their prey within hours every time they evade them. In the harshest winter blizzard, innthe "safety" of Griffin's family home, innthe secret safe house, all so fast your head swims. Just saying, it was pretty unbelievable. And Lisa Harris is a favorite writer! Maybe longer books are her forte.
Book #147 of 2024: I didn't realize this was part of a series until I was part way in. I sensed the brothers each had a book so I checked and verified.
This book has a lot of suspense and action. I am also thankful for quieter moments when the two lead characters would talk. I like balance. It adds depth to a book. The interesting premise of a witness to a high-profile case and temporary amnesia added a lot of mystery.
I've read many books by this author and I always enjoy them.
This is the second book in the O'Callaghan brothers series. Ms. Harris starts the story with a car wreck and shooting involving FBI agents and the witness, Tory Faraday, that they are protecting. Tory is running for her life and is found, and helped, by Deputy Griffin O'Callaghan. Tory's story is complicated by the fact that she has amnesia, and has no idea who is after her, or why. This story is full of action and suspense! I'm looking forward to the next book
Tori was in the witness protection program but when 2 FBI agents were killed taking her to a court hearing, she ran into the woods, stumbled, fell and now has amnesia. Griffon a deputy sheriff finds her and takes her quickly away but when he reports in is told he needs to protect her for at least 48 hours because of the winter storm closing the roads. Many things happen to them but Griffon stays the course protecting Tori and falling in love
As lawman Griffin O'Callaghan tries to keep FBI witness Tory Faraday safe from a ruthless killer, we see a story of love and trust that will leave you wanting just a little bit more. From the nasty weather to the pack of killers that seem to constantly be finding them, Tory and Griffin can't seem to catch a break until its almost too late.
From the beginning, my thought was "Can Tory escape those pursuing her?" Griffin questions "Can I protect this woman from death when I was unsuccessful in protecting another woman?" The chill in the air is not only from the winter weather but also from the evil, unrelenting killers pursuing them. Excellent story!
I enjoyed this clean, Love-Inspired Suspense. I voluntarily chose to review this story, and I've given it a 5* rating. Warning, there is a lot of violence in this, because of the bad guys. There are lots of twists and turns, so you need to keep reading to find out how it ends. Good Ending.
I love that it has law enforcement in the book. There is plenty of danger and suspense. The story starts fast with a car accident, 2 dead FBI agents and a witness with no memory. The story just got better with each turn of the page. A very easy read.
This is a slow read, but it did keep you guessing what would happen next. Would this young woman try to handle the situation all on her own? Are there too many events happening in the story? Not one of my favorite books by Lisa Harris.
I enjoyed reading this story as it kept me guessing the direction the plot would take. There was lots of action that made the story thrilling and the reader want to keep reading until the end. A well written book.
Great mystery! Good characters and realistic plot! Kept me so interested that I stayed up reading it at night until I finished it! Also, had a good ending!

I'm so glad some of the Love Inspired Suspense books are on Kindle Unlimited now because I tried this one and it was very good!! It had likable characters and awesome suspense. The romance aspect of the story was good as well. So glad I got to read it.
This is a really good book!!!! I really enjoy this author's books. She has a splendid imagination!!! But she makes the stories so believable!!!! I felt as if I were right there in the book with the characters!!!
Deputy Griffin O'Callaghan comes across a car in a ditch. When he gets out of his cruiser to offer to help he finds two dead FBI agents. He sees there is a woman's bag and scarf on the backseat and that the back door is open so he surmises that whoever the agents were transporting ran off into the trees along the side of the road. Since there are three sets of footprints Griffin hurries off to join the chase. He finds a woman who claims to have no memory of who she is or why she was with the FBI agents. They race back to Griffin's cruiser and barely escape after shots are fired at them. The woman turns out to be Tory Faraday, a prime witness to a murder. Since a major snowstorm is closing in on the area Griffin is tasked with protecting Tory until the FBI can get to them. Little did Griffin know that protecting Tory would be leading them both into life-threatening danger.
Christmas Witness Pursuit by Lisa Harris is a fast-paced, thrilling story. The action is constant and the dangerous situations Griffin and Tory find themselves in lead to breathtaking scenes. I liked how the author developed her two main characters so well that I found myself really liking them and rooting them on to a HEA. Griffin was very patient with Tory's memory loss and didn't push her to remember even though that would have made his job easier. Tory was really brave throughout the story. I can't imagine facing such danger with her limitations. Romantic Suspense readers are going to love this thrill-a-minute, heart-stopping adventure.
