Rather than read a chapter every day, I read one every week. I keep a gratitude journal and wrote the word for the week above the week of entries (Love, frugality, self-respect) etc. Each chapter starts with a quote, 1 - 2 pages of how that fits to help achieve happiness and goes on with a meditation, followed by actions that can help achieve that goal. I highlighted, as I read, which I think helped me to focus on what I saw as key concepts. I am starting the book over again, as it was something I enjoyed, found helpful, and may have added happiness.

This book was featured on the Ellen Show and included in her monthly Kind Box, as well as on podcasts such as TALK2ME. I’m so glad to hear from many people that this book has helped them overcome depression and gain a sense of happiness.

On one hand, if you’ve been able to maintain consistent contentedness in your life, this book will be a waste of time.

On the other hand, it could be an affirmation to concepts you’re familiar with. A reminder. A daily meditation book with self-evaluation (as designed).

I really liked the daily short reads with relatively easy concepts to implement. The self-reflection was great to help focus thoughts for the day. My tip is to read this before you start the day.
