A. Lynn Blumer lives in Michigan's Upper Peninsula where she enjoys the outdoors just as much as her smoke-laden writing station. The last five years have been devoted to developing her poetry and independent publishing business, but prose remains her chief interest.

Building this review was well worth the time and trouble. I believe you will be seeing more books like this from Pyre :)
Pyre Publishing need to be congratulated for their hard work of publishing such quality poems throughout their EZ.P.ZINE quarterlies of 2018. (I like to call them E. Zed. P.Zines, seeing as I’m English.) And in this yearly review, you’ll find the very best of the bunch. I know that selecting and ordering pieces for an anthology is no easy feat, so I can see just how much hard work has been put into forming this little book of poetic gems. Sure, a couple of poems were perhaps subpar for my tastes, but all of the poems in this book work very well as a collection. My absolute favourites of this anthology were Bob Polzin’s Basement Show (I need to read more by this guy), A. Lynn Blumer’s Beasts in the Basement, India LaPlace’s Going Home, Andy Carrington’s Lone Smoke/Reaching Out, Ahja Fox’s King Soopers and Alex Watenen’s Xerox People. I’m not sure my own little contribution stands up against many of the great poems in this book. Be sure to check out this yearly review and the other Pyre publications. They’re on fire.
Great artwork and selection of poems. My own contribution notwithstanding, Pyre has really succeeded in letting the cream rise with this one. Get a copy HERE.
