First things first; I love the cover of this book.
June is book six in the Calendar gal’s series but it is the first book from this series that I have read. This story is short, mixed paced and intriguing. I read this book in one sitting and was intrigued throughout. I found the writing style fairly easy to follow, the characters likeable for the majority and the storyline busy.
Busy in a sense of; it confused me. A lot went on considering the book was short. Not in a bad sense, it just made me a little dizzy. I thought I had got an understanding of Lucinda but then she would suddenly up and do something totally out of the blue. At times it felt like someone had spun me on a merry go round and then handed me this book to read whilst everything was still spinning.
Without giving too much away: Lucinda Brown has wanted to be a ballerina since she was five. We get to see her dance training/goals throughout the year. When Lucinda gets a career ending injury, she needs to decide what to do next. Dance is/was her life. Along the way of seeing Lucinda find herself, we see her ups and downs. More downs than ups but still.
I wasn’t a fan of Tucker. I found him strange and untrustworthy which was soon proven correct.
The ending of this story has me on intrigued for more. All I will say is that I hope Tucker doesn’t get a second chance.
