I didn’t enjoy this one as much as one, two and three, but it was a good read anyway. I didn’t like the back and forth dream states as I found them a bit overdone. But It held my attention and I am on to the next
I am so impressed with this author. The way he tells a story really gets you involved in the persons life. I felt like I was really following Lance through all of his situations. All the things Lance had experienced, he was able to get some answers. I felt so many emotions as I read this novel. I felt anger, sadness, happiness and uncertainty for Lance’s future. If there are people out there with this ability, I can only hope someone can share their story as well as this author has told Lance’s story.
As I continue to read this series of a young man who will instantly make you think of Odd Thomas, it only makes me want to learn more about this amazing person and meet more of the creepy people from his journeys into life.....and a very fucked up and creepy one he lives! Now, I must dive into the audiobook of #5.
I had to give only 3 stars because I liked the first 3 in the series much better. The way the storyline jumped around got confusing at times and didn’t hold my interest as much as the others. I do like that each book is different and not just the same story line with different characters , but this one just wasn’t for me.
Book 4 in the series. While I thoroughly enjoyed the first 3 books I found this a bit confusing. Felt like a bit of a chore to read whereas the others in the series have been exciting and easy to read.
After accepting a lift by a friendly truck driver which brings him away from Sugar Beach, Lance hops out at a roadside but doesn’t really know where he is going. Suddenly he finds himself in the midst of a snow storm and eventually comes to a hidden motel and upon meeting Meriam, the proprietor, he senses something eerie and realises that he is meant to be here. The events that happen to Lance from thence make this probably the longest night of his life where he learns a lot, not only of himself, but also a small understanding of who and why he is here but also that he is not alone. I can’t wait to read book five of this brilliant series, what a character and what an author! Once again a massive 5/5.
This book, as mentioned in other reviews, did remind me some of Dean Koontz's Odd Thomas series. The main character was a smidge more normal/less gosh-darn wholesome than Odd Thomas. I enjoyed the different ghosts' stories from each room that they died in, but overall the book was less scary/spooky and more of a thriller. Nothing in it left me worried about nightmares. Decent writing, interesting characters (Meriam's character felt a little off- being the only other living being at the hotel). This is book 4 of the series, but I didn't feel like I was missing much from not having read the first 3 books.
I’ve enjoyed these books so far. The story is captivating and keeps me coming back for more. Some of the story is repetitive, and extended descriptions unnecessary - to where I found myself skipping most of that material. Please understand, that is my opinion. Personally, I need very little information in order to paint a picture. This is why I read, for my imagination to play a part in the story, so to speak. I’m sure there are others that can truly appreciate that style of writing. If you’re contemplating starting this series, go for it!! You will not be disappointed!!!
Thoroughly enjoyed this book as I have all the others. My only pet peeve is the authors use of unnecessary words such as 'had' and 'that'. Were he to go through his manuscript and check for these words, he would find they make up a large part of his manuscript. Furthermore, were he to read the sentence omitting the word, he would find he could use the sentence 90% of the time without the unnecessary word. When reading, I find this to be a huge distraction. Love his stories, though, and his characters. Will continue to read them even with this issue though I think he'd be a better writer for it if he corrected it.
Lance is out and gets stuck in a bad winter storm. As he is walking, he sees a motel along the road and thinks this will be a Godsend from the storm. He couldn't be more wrong! He is up against all kinds of bad, nasty things that demand his attention. Another great story from MR Jr! I voluntarily reviewed a free copy of this book.
Another thoroughly enjoyable book in the Lance Brody series. This was the best one for me so far. The story line and plot were just so riveting and intriguing I couldn't put it down for any length of time. This one kept me up way past my bedtime. I'm anxiously awaiting the next book in this series!!
I say up some late hours to read this series. This was a superior ending. It could end here or more adventures to come? It really has deep insight as to why a person can do evil, yet they aren't really evil. But it also gives us the dregs of evil. I do hope this author adds to this series. Super and superior! Thank you!
This book is just as rivetting as the rest in this series. It is truly one of those that you need to make sure you can read it in one sitting because you just can't put it down. I anxiously await the next!
The writing pulls you into Lance's reality as if it was your own. Totally fantastical and believable in some corner of our mystic brain. I find myself completely transported into these novels and eagerly await more.
I enjoyed the fourth in the series of Lance Brody stories and particularly the time travelling aspect and the fact that there was someone else with his ability i hope we don’t have to wait too long for the next instalment
Lance finds some of the answer he was seeking while waiting in a old haunted motel. Many people had died in this motel. And he found the one person like him. But he was dead. Don't stop reading.
This is one of the more uniques takes on good vs evil I’ve encountered. And I am a big Koontz and King and Straub fan. I just can’t put it down until I piece it together. Have fun!!🥰🥰❤️
Another installment from Lance Brody based around a motel problem solving his ghostly encounters and avoiding the surfer and the priest. He is so loveable. Story pulls at your heart. Listened to on Audible, lovely narration by Joe Cliff Thompson.
I have really enjoyed all the Lance Brody books in the series, but this is my favorite so far. We get to see more and more of Lances abilities. Loved meeting Alexa who is the main character in Michael Robertson's newest book. I thoroughly recommend this.
Lance finds answers to his long pondered question. Is there anyone out there like me? A crazy blizzard finds him checking into a 6 room motel. Only to find out some disturbing things about the deaths there. Can he right these wrongs?
This trend now, by multiple authors, of never ending stories,is just so overdone. I miss the days of one and done. Heck,I'll even take 3 and done. After 3,it's really just redundancy. Same story different day. Blah blah blah 🙄.
Another good tale following Lance Brody. Few minor errors, but really good story. I sincerely hope there are more books with Lance on the way. Too good to end.
This book was definitely not what I expected. The story took a twist that I was not prepared to see, but it was exciting! I really enjoyed reading it and look forward to the next one in the series!
This series has totally blown me away , I honestly didn’t think I’d be into it but it’s hooked me right from the start , this book is the best in the series so far
