A must have book for parents. I don't say that lightly, as a mom of adult children now, there is value in these pages for how to pray specifically for your children. I appreciate the time the authors took in gathering the vast issues facing our children and bringing Scripture to those issues as a way to jumpstart our prayers over them.
The stories interspersed throughout help encourage parents as they grow through the different seasons in their child's life, though I wish there were a bit more, even small segments at the end of each prayer, but that would probably make this book much thicker.
Overall, this book of prayers is a great tool to add to any parent's prayer time and though the topics can be limited to younger kids, I've found value in them as a jumping point for my kids who've just entered adulthood. Never stop praying.

I love this book! As the mother of a 7 year old girl, I am starting to experience her growth mentally, spiritually, and emotionally. She is developing her own will and as her parent, I want to help her shape it.
However, on my own, I can achieve very little. Especially when trying to shape another person! I have enough trouble trying to shape my own person! That’s where prayer comes in.
God tells us that we are to teach our children. However, every parent will tell you, it takes more than what we can do on our own. God’s guidance in the children’s life is what is needed.
What I love about this book is that it is tailored specifically to what girls go through as well as things that all of us go through. So in addition to anger, pride, and such, there are also topics of rejection, relationships and things geared to what most girls experience and struggle with.
The prayers are very specific. They pray over the child as well as petition God for help with parenting the issue. The focus is truly about inserting God into every part of the situation. It’s not just about changing the daughter, but also about changing the parent. This is so that God can be glorified and his will to be accomplished.
In addition to that, scripture is included before the prayer so that the reader can see that the prayer is Biblically sound. This is one of my favorite parts!
Periodically, there are excerpts in the book that have a little anecdote and/or story about things to think about. For instance, there’s an insert about a girl’s relationship with her dad. or a story about how the author’s prayer about something was answered. These are great additions to uplift and/or focus you on how God answers prayer.
When I received the book, I didn’t have high hopes for it. I thought it would be very generic. However, I am very impressed. The prayers are scriptural, they cover all aspects of the situation, and they bring everything back to God’s glory and His will. I couldn’t be happier with this prayer book. It truly brings the essence of scripture into prayer life in order to bring all parts of the situation under God’s guidance.

POWERFUL PRAYERS FOR YOUR DAUGHTER was originally published in 2014 but it is just as valid today. Our daughters need our prayers for so many things and the Teigens have made it easy to pray with verses and well thought out prayers for almost every topic imaginable.
For example when my college daughter called feeling so down on herself, I could look up a prayer about self-worth and pray it for her. The Teigens also included scripture passages for those who want to pray scripture, too.
Another daughter struggles with her self-image, She doesn't have a rail thin body like her sister. There is a prayer for that, too.
Over 200 pages of prayers for those who want to pray for their daughter but don't have the right words or feel their prayers aren't good enough (please note they are good enough, God hears everyone not only professional prayers,) .

As a mom, there are days when everyone is off to school and work and I'm delivering laundry to empty rooms upstairs. I feel the nudge to pause, to find my knees beside each bed and lift the absent occupant to the Father. I scan their rooms, my mind sifting through the struggles and joys of each of their hearts.
Sometimes, thoughts and prayers roll off easily. Other days my mind feels blank. It is not uncommon for me to ask His Spirit to form words on my behalf when I can't begin to know what my loved ones need most.
A huge answer came recently in the form of partner releases from Revell Books: "Powerful Prayers for Your Daughter" and "Powerful Prayers for Your Son," by Rob & Joanna Teigen. These scripturally based prayers are specific to various situations, phases of growth or changing needs. They are intermingled with touching and timely "prayer stories," real and raw testimonies of the power of prayer experienced by families just like ours.
For our daughter who will step bravely into adulthood soon, turning 18 and graduating from high school in the next year, these few prayers caught my eye:
When she needs wisdom
When she's worried
When she needs to work hard
When she's choosing her words
When she's lonely
When she needs rest (junior year is no joke!)
When she needs a mentor
For our son, just a few years behind her, and navigating his own unique joys and challenges, these few prayers gave words to my heart:

When I don't know what to pray
For both, I especially lift these earnest cries for their hearts:
"Keep my daughter from becoming devoted to lesser things. Turn my daughter's heart to You. Reveal Yourself so she can see Your power. Give her faith to believe You are her Creator, deserving all her worship and praise! ... May You be as real as anyone she can see face to face. Keep her close to You forever." (page 173, "When she needs to love GOD with all her heart")
"Give my son a heart that seeks Your will for his life. ... Fill my son with devotion to You. May he offer his life and dreams fully to Your control. (page 62) ... Write Your Word on his heart and mind. Keep my son from settling for an easy, shallow relationship with You. Let him wrestle with belief and trust until he makes his faith his own. Keep him close to You every day." (page 157, "When he needs to stay close to GOD")
In their purest form, I believe our best prayers for our kids are authentically and spontaneously inspired by His Spirit, offered unplanned and unrehearsed. But I also believe there is a sweet time and space for praying the words of another, and definitely GOD's own Words in scripture, as we lift our loved ones to the Father.
I am grateful to Rob & Joanna Teigen and the way these two books have tuned my own heart to the deepest needs of my daughter and son, to honor GOD in how I pray for them and what I speak into their lives each day. The "real-time" stories from other parents assure me I am not alone in desiring the LORD's best for my soon-to-be adult children, rejoicing in the growth and promise I can see, or feeling anxious about the areas of concern I also notice.
What a joy to leave our children in the care of the One who created them, the One who redeemed them, the One who pursues their hearts more passionately and faithfully than I ever could! And how positively challenging to be reminded that prayer is POWERFUL!
"All I know for sure is that he (she) needs You. Thank You for the gift of prayer." (page 192, "Powerful Prayers for Your Son")

My oldest child is a girl. Our precious daughter is 21 years of age. She was overall a good baby but the older she has gotten the more independent she has grown, but she also has never fully let go of mom and dad. When we see her come to a crossroads in her life, where only she alone can make a decision we see her grasping and grabbing for us just like she did when she was learning to walk. She is so unsure and unsteady of her next step. It drives us completely and utterly crazy sometimes, but we know she is still growing and learning and she still needs us.
Powerful Prayers for Your Daughter, is the perfect book for situations just like this. God knows how troubling and how hard "letting children go", can be. After all, He has had to do the same with us, didn't He? Powerful Prayers for Your Daughter, tries to nail down each and every situation we could possibly have with our daughters and addresses it through prayer, scripture, and counseling so that we can attack the enemy where it hurts most. We are after all, fighting for our daughters' life here. Many times that will take a parent on their knees at every turn.

You would probably pick up this book if you have girls or about to have a new little one, and rightly so. Often times our prayers for children are either very generic or very specific to their needs in that particular season of their life. But it’s important to be praying for everything in between.
In Powerful Prayers for Your Daughter, Rob and Joanna Teigen go over 88 items you can pray over your girl’s life. I was fascinated by the sheer number alone. That is 88 ways we can be lifting her up in prayer, day in and day out, and then start all over again.
The fact that impressed me most was that out of the 88 things to be praying for daughters, praying for her salvation was number one. In the end, that is the most important thing we want for her life. To be saved, to be chosen, to be sealed for eternity. Everything else is secondary.
Claim my daughter as your own. Write her name on your hands. Put your seal on her and write her name in your Book of Life. Give her eternal life so no one can snatch her out of your hand.

Prayer is such an important part of our relationship with the Lord, and also as a parent! While I feel like prayer is pretty straightforward and not something that requires a book, I really loved this book!
Powerful Prayers for your Daughter is a great book, filled with 88 different prayers and even categorized. As a mother of a daughter there are certain issues I know she is dealing with that I can look up and specifically pray for her about. The table of contents makes it easy to target your prayers on specific issues, or it could simply be a devotion style book, that you read through a prayer each day for your daughter, or even for her.

This is a perfect book for parents of girls, starting from a young age throughout her life. The topics encompass so many different topics, and although I went though the book reading it, I recommend that it be used as a daily devotional, with the appropriate topic for prayer being used as a spring board to your own prayers for your beloved child. Topics include such things as using the internet, dating, feeling lonely or rejected, etc. There are so many topics that this book is an invaluable tool for parents who desire to pray an effective prayer for their child. Each topic includes a scripture and a prayer.

Powerful Prayers for Your Daughter provides thoughtful prayers and corresponding bible verses for numerous situations that our daughters face. A few examples are: When she feels inferior, when she’s rejected, when she must submit to authority, and when we need time together. Our children need us to guide them and pray for them, and this book provides sample prayers we may use that we may not otherwise know how to articulate.
When we pray for our children, God listens, and their spiritual journey will surely profit. A lovely devotional that will strengthen our daughters’ faith as well as our own.

The prayers focus on just about every subject you can think of from purity to bullying to discipline and much more. There are also real life prayer reflection stories included for further inspiration.
This book is a treasure! The prayers are heartfelt and backed up by scripture. This book can be used daily, no matter what your daughter is dealing with at any particular moment. You will want to keep it handy for encouragement and help in your prayer life. It is also a perfect gift to pass to a friend. I really enjoyed this beautiful book and will be rereading it often. Powerful Prayers for your Daughter is a such a great book with an important message on prayer. This book is filled with 88 different prayers and categorized by topics. The table of contents makes it very accessible to find a topic you are looking for specific prayers on. I think this book is a great tool to a powerful prayer life.
This book provides a deep look into how parents can prayer for their daughters, even when they cannot be all things to children. It gives renewed hope and supernatural strength to parents. Two new great books for parents. One book has specialized prayers to pray for your son and the other is geared for daughters. Having been blessed with both a son and a daughter, I have been reading through both books. They have been wonderful to read and are in nice short chapters to read daily. There are verses to go along with each topic. Thank you to Revell for these review copies. Powerful Prayers For Your Son by Rob and Joanna Teigen covers topics related to what a boy experiences in his life. Powerful Prayers For Your Daughter by Rob and Joanna Teigen is done really well to cover issues that girls experience in their lives. I look forward to having these books to pray for my children throughout their lives.

I have three daughters and I found this book to be delightful!
I love the layout of the book, especially the table of contents. It makes it easy to navigate.
Every topic has several verses for guidance and a sample prayer.
The pull out sections - as I'll call them - were wonderful testimonies that kind of served as encouraging devotions.
Viewing the topics also gave me some fresh conversation ideas with my tween/teen girls.

And while I don't technically have daughters
I really do love the premise of this book.
[They have one our for sons too!]
And while I intercede for my children on a [more than] daily basis,
I enjoyed the guidance this book offers -

Powerful Prayers for You Daughter by both Rob and Joanna Teigen is a wonderful book. It gives light and meaning to prayer. Each part allowed a deep reflection on oneself when reacting a certain way and how to be patient. This book provided a deep look into how a parent can be all the things their daughter needs them to be. Loving, kind, forgiving, and patient. Prayer gives a peaceful yet calmness when thinking of one’s child. A daughter deserves all the best things a parent can give and prayers are at the top of that list. By praying for your daughter, it gives a renewed strength for both parent and child. Overall, I loved how there was a Biblical reflection, quote, and story, as well as a special prayer every step of the way. Every page was filled with prayers. Beautiful book!

This book contains 88 beautiful prayers written out for you to pray directly if you’d like. Pray these prayers, adding and amending where you want. This book offers focus for different areas and struggles your daughter may face or be going through. Each prayer has one to four Bible verses listed above it. The format of the book also contains Prayer stories. These Prayer stories share incidents and real life happenings from people’s lives and the way they saw prayers answered for their daughter. They are encouraging and inspiring! The book also highlights a few sections reflecting on specific parts of your daughter’s life.
For example: Her Blessings, Her Identity, Her Idols, Her Gifts and Talents.
I really like this book. The prayers are only a page or two and can easily be picked up and prayed anytime.

This book was a beautiful writing and encouraging and compelling to read with that also having a tools to helping all parents to be patience and more understanding their kids specially who had daughter that you want the best for them. As you know that we are all struggle in life and live event your daughter too but with this book to offering us to finding the best way to communicate bring us with the faithfully of God for the children you love as a parents. This book arrived in my hands exactly when I needed it. Praying for our children is one of our greatest joys and responsibilities, but sometimes in the hustle and bustle of life, we miss the opportunity to be intentional in our prayers. This book has resurrected the desire and the urgency to cover my precious daughter in prayer and I am so thankful for this took which I have gladly added to my toolkit.

Rob and Joanna Teigen have written 2 wonderful books on praying for your children.
Both books were delivered to my house yesterday! I won these books in a drawing and have been pleasantly surprised. God knew I would appreciate and read these topics, and that I needed help to pray for my daughters and grandchildren in this season. This book can be read topically or cover to cover. But one thing in certain. If you desire to pray for your children, their words will help you pray powerful prayers for your own daughters, or sons, as they have another book on prayers for sons. I give this 5 stars and hope you find this as helpful as I did.
