A Pillar by Day

Rate this book
"And beginning at Moses...He expounded unto them in all the scriptures the things concerning Himself." Luke 24:27 Israel's journey from Egypt to the promised Land has been described as the "wilderness wanderings." And at times, our readings through the first five books of Moses may seem dry, dull, and desolate. Yet, Jesus said these Scriptures "testify" of Him John 5:39 the Pentateuch-Genesis, Exodus, Leviticus, Numbers, and Deuteronomy-reveals Jesus in countless ways... In Genesis, we see Him as the Light of the world In Exodus, we see Him as our Passover Lamb. In Leviticus, we see Him as our burnt offering In Numbers, we see Him as the serpent lifted up in the wilderness. And in Deuteronomy, we see Him as the Word of God. A Pillar By Day is a 365-day devotional to accompany your life's daily journeys. With each step, your head will lift as your heart is filled with timeless truths. Find comfort in the shadow of our Lord, our Pillar Guide, and see how Old Testament lessons foreshadow New Testament hope. Join Pastor Jon as he finds the Person of Jesus Christ in the pages of the Pentateuch.

This is both a eye-opening daily devotional and a great way to understand the first two books in the Old Testament. Old stories from childhood become more illuminated and new passages in Genesis and Exodus will bring you moments of Awe and Gratitude. This is the second daily devotional of Jon's I have read and gained in both knowledge and wonder at God's love and wisdom.
