The author of dozens of novels, screenplays, and television scripts, he won three Edgar Allan Poe Awards and Japan's Maltese Falcon Award.

A crime story involving an escaped convict making his way to visit with his dying father. Not really a mystery.
Thus, as per my rating system -2 stars - Near good - less than average.
