A few months back I and the family moved into a new place in the south of Idaho. we've gone from a 3 bedroom to a 4, we have still lost some space that I had down in the basement where I had my workshop. Problem was that when we moved I now had to set up the workshop in the garage which I might add has a decent amount of space, but the airflow was not all that great. I recently came across the ultimate shop when browsing through a blog I read for woodworking news. To be honest this program couldn't have come at a better time, as I do have a ton of other resources to go to. But not many of them focus on setting up on a budget. Anyway, the garage sits around 24 by 30, but I still needed to leave some space for my son's dirtbike to go into. After going through the first module, I then found a few useful tips that applied to me in the second and third modules. There were a few great points on how to divide the workshop into parts that really helped with making sure my son's bikes could fit in around the workshop.

The guide also includes some of the best tools to get for my miniature shop and also where to get these tools from (most of Ralph's tool suggestions are actually pretty unique and affordable too). Simply put, the Ultimate Small Shop walks me through the process of establishing a fully-functional wood shop with a small budget.

I bought this guidebook because I just got fired from my recent work and I thought it was the time for me to start my own business. I have no experiences in this field and I need to set up my shop, money and time always become issues. I glad that I bought Ultimate Small Shop, this book solves the issues.
The book is well organized and written, with very good discussion of things like space selection, heating and cooling, electrical, storeage, safety, workflow and many more.

The chapters on budgeting and cost-saving strategies were incredibly useful, allowing me to set up my shop without breaking the bank. I also loved the tips on optimizing small spaces, which have made a huge difference in how I use my limited area. On the downside, some of the product recommendations seemed outdated or geared towards specific brands. Despite this, the overall impact on my workshop was positive, giving me the confidence to tackle more complex projects efficiently.
