Four minutes. That's all it took to change my life forever. I once had a purpose in life. Had a direction. Four damn minutes changed it all. I tried to live for my club. I was doing what I needed to do each day. I was in a bad place when I met Lyric. She wasn't much better. Together we found a way to move on. I found some sort of strength in her and she found safety and love in me. The only question now is.... Is that enough for me?

I am a wife, mother, child chauffeur and author. I love being able to create different characters and spin a web that makes them come together in the end. My books do not stick to just one genre, they span many.

I write about things that are real life situations and fairy tales are not always smooth sailing. My MC books are hard and gritty and they have struggles just like you would in life.

I also have books that are not so in your face. There are several that are good love stories that are fraught with issues that the characters have to deal with.

ღ I have absolutely fell in love with Erin's books! Every time I pick up one of her books I'm in awe of her storytelling & yet at the same time I’m so damn mad Cuz she has me in tears half way through the book, I don’t think since I’ve started reading Erin Trejo books I’ve ever been disappointed .. This book is no exception to that rule

➦I just finish Crow & Lyric book,& When I originally sat down to write my review on this book I found myself just staring at my screen wondering how to put in words my feelings about these two lost souls who found their way back with each other’s help.

💘💘To be completely honest I find myself saying this more & more lately especially with Erin's books. No matter what I write in my review it cannot compare to the experience that you will have by holding your Kindle in your hand & experiencing this on your own for each person I believe it will have a different effect on them, I believe that I will leave you with that thought

➦Four minutes. doesn't seem like a long time, but That's all it
took to change his life forever.

➦YES Erin books maybe rough around the edges & even too dark for most, but if that’s the way you feel don’t complain after being warn that the book is dark & touch on sensitive subjects

Ok, I just finished this book and I will be honest.. I am devastated by the ending.. utterly devastated.. I wish I had been somewhat warned by someone that there was not going to be a HEA for this couple. Even in saying that, I will admit that the writing was very good, and the story was heartbreaking and unforgettable.... I just personally don’t like endings like this in what I read.

I know Erin writes dark stories and I expect that anything is possible... but for me if it’s romance... then there should at least be a happy ending!!!

All in all, this was a very emotional series, with all kinds of twists and turns! I am definitely due for a light hearted read after this!🙈😢

I knew when I first started to read this book it was going to be totally different from the others in a sense that crow didn't have that hardened crust to him like Smokey, draven or ruger. Lyric was amazing, she was brought in to her own with crow guiding her along the way. Removing her self doubt and building her up to be a stronger person. But this book although it prepares you in a way for the end result it still shreds you heart into tiny pieces when it happens. Amazingly written touching many hard subjects which will break you side open but unable to stop reading. Totally loved this book even though it touched me a little close to home on many issues to covered.

The book is mediocre at best but I pushed through. The hero and heroine both met when suicidal but along the way they fell in love but he still decided he was gonna end it. He got his affairs in order and made the heroine promise to live her life. Then it ends when he kills himself. Are you kidding me?? What kind of BS is this? I had already tried this author and didnt like her writing so I thought I would try again. This sealed the deal for me....never again.

I think I have a hate/ love relationship with this author lol! she makes me fall in love with them and then she takes them away from me. But in the meantime I enjoy reading their story and Crow this man just about left me picking up the pieces. I don't know if to be happy or keep crying but one thing I know I'm happy by the way the story ended even with a broken heart it was a good ending.

To say that a story surrounding an MC, surrounding one of their brothers, is beautifully written seems a bit strange. This story, Crow's story is just that. A beautifully written story that begins in darkness and ends in light. What is his purpose when the only love he has ever really know was ruthlessly ripped away from him. Each year, each day that he walks this earth carries that painful memory. Each year he does the same thing, only to walk away for some reason. This year is no different with one exception. He isn't alone. Someone who evidently is in as much pain as he is sits across from him. She doesn't see him sitting in the dark shadows, but he sees her. He watches her until he finally speaks. She shares some of her pain, and he gives her what she wants, what she needs in that moment. And she in return gives him something that he's never had, leaving him a bit bewildered, but still there. He doesn't even know her name but he moves on wondering every now and then whatever happened to her. Did she ever find her happiness. Then, they meet again and this time he gets her name and takes her with him. Lyric. Her name is musical and as time goes on, her light touches his darkness inside and brings him happiness and calms the nightmares. She centers him. He gives her strength, he gives her confidence and helps her to build her self-confidence, to believe what he makes her say, "I'm Lyric and I'm perfect". He helps lead her to her future, ensuring that she is on the path to where she is supposed to travel, and he loves her. He loves her more than he ever thought possible, and she loves him just as much. Their paths were meant to cross, they were meant to bring healing to each other's souls. He finally understands his purpose and makes peace with that.

Their story is beautiful and the author takes you through this time in their lives, not withholding the action and excitement of the club's business. She takes you through their pasts as she walks you through their present in a way that reads more like a re-telling of someone's life with a bit of fiction thrown in for the sake of the story. It reads as a beautiful story of two people's lives who have become intertwined when they needed someone the most and are now telling people the story of how they met, how they helped each other heal, and how they loved.

I have read many of this author's works before, including this series and I honestly have to say that this is by-far her best work, that I've read, to date.

To say that this book will leave you breathless and speechless is an understatement. This book will do that and more. Prepare your heart for this highly recommend read. You'll need to!

5 Heartbreaking Stars

Crow and Lyric are two people whose paths crossed at their lowest times and it was then that Crow knew he needed to help Lyric understand that no matter what size she was, she was worth more than she knew. Crazy that a bad*ss biker knew that beauty runs deeper and he did everything in his power to make sure that Lyric would find a path to follow out of the self-destruction she was in.

The MC is stronger than ever and just as nasty but they always have that brotherhood bond that kept them glued together. This is another great book in the So Cal series that put me through the wringer emotionally. It brought light out of the dark. I highly recommend this heartbreaking MC read.

NO, NO, NO!!! I don't do ugly cry books. This was a great book but I cried on and off during the whole book. I won't tell you how it ends but just keep the tissues handy while reading.
Crow wants to die. He lost his son a few years ago by murder which is the only part I didn't like because the murder is still out there. (hopefully this will be taken care of in the next series). Lyric wants to die. She is over weight and is sexually abused by her stepfather and everyone is always cutting her down because of her weight. This unlikely pair meet and become a couple who falls in love. Is love enough to bring them back to the land of the living? Read to find out...

Speechless right now...

Crow isn’t like the rest of the guys in the Soulless Bastards MC. In fact he is completely opposite them. Yeah he has a dark, twisted side but things from his past have made him this way. When he meets Lyric things finally start to click into place for him but he can’t shake certain things. He has a plan, will Lyric be able to change it or will he continue on the path he wants??

This is not like any of the previous books in this series. Erin Trejo has a way of making us feel every emotion. This story is an emotional roller coaster and I absolutely LOVED it!! 🖤🖤

Crow: Soulless Bastards MC So Cal by Erin Trejo was an emotional read for me filled with heartbreak and pain. Seeing the torment and pain that Crow endured by his loss was sad, but when he met Lyric and he saw she felt the same pain he was going through, he knew he had to save her. Maybe she was sent to save him? Now you are taken on this journey of two people falling in love as one has already coursed his path, but before this can happen Crow has insured that Lyric would know her self worth and be given a second chance at life even if it means without him. With the love and support of his brothers and Lyric, Crow is still determind to go out they way he feels the ending should be for him. This is one book that will have you dreading the end and wanting four minutes to last forever! Erin, you have given your readers a lesson that even with death, we are still surrounded by love. I highly recommend this book! I voluntairly reviewed an advance copy of this book.

Just when I think this author’s previous book was the best she writes Crow. This book is an emotional roller coaster that had me ugly crying at times. Crow and Lyric’s story is heartbreaking, very emotional and sweet. There are also elements of suspense and drama that ties the whole thing together. They meet at the most perfect time in their lives’. I was really, really hoping for a different outcome to their story but the ending fit this book perfectly. I can’t wait for more from this author!! I highly recommend this book!

Hero and heroine are both suicidal. Fall in love but Hero kills himself at the end of the book - not exactly a romance read for me.

A part of me hated this book but another part of me fell in love with it. I don’t know how this author always manages to make me feel the deepest sadness of her characters and also the greatest love and joy of them as well.

Two strangers on a path of self destruction meet by chance and find comfort and understanding from the other that will lead to a powerful love. This was a beautiful, haunting story that will make you think about the decisions you make and the power and scope of grief and how it changes your life and the lives of those you care about. Crow, Gabe and Lyric’s story will likely haunt my dreams for some time to come and I suspect that I won’t be the only reader to feel that way. Well done.

I received a free copy of this book and I am voluntarily leaving a review.

"His eyes will always haunt me. Those dark brown eyes that fill every goddamn nightmare I have."

description

Crow is a Soulless Bastard, one with a tragic past. Every year around the same time he goes away to be alone and suffer. He has his plan, he doesn't care what anyone else thinks, and this year he is finally going to go through with it. And when I say go through with it I mean take his own life. That is until he walks into what should be an abandoned warehouse to find a sobbing Lyric. He convinces her that things will get better even if she doesn't truly believe it. Slowly they start to find that they heal eachother, that just being with eachother calms them both, But is that enough for Crow to completely forgo all of his plans and stay with her?

My take... Guys... GUYS!!!
description

This whole book had me in my feels in the short 100+ pages I cried twice... not like one tear like I have to put the book down and cry. I felt so bad for Crow there is no way absolutely none that I could imagine going through what he was going through. Lyric was completely relatable, as a bigger woman myself I know what it feels like to feel like you are less than everyone else because you where a size 14 instead of a size 4. I really wished I could have known more of her background but even the little bits that I was told I loved.
I have not read all the other So Cal books but if they are anything like this one I am in for some serious feels! Great read, great pace, great characters. I really have nothing bad to say about the book!

Have you ever finished reading a book and needed a couple of days to decompress from the emotional impact it had on you? This is one of those books. Trejo’s Crow totally wrecked me! The emotional rollercoaster ride this book took me on, I had to take a day or two to decompress after reading….and because I am a glutton for this kind of joyous punishment, I read it again!

While Soulless Bastards MC South Cal are known to be true to their name, Crow is a closeted bleeding heart in a world of black hearts. He meets Lyric at the lowest point in both of their lives. Together they are “two broken and lost souls trying to ease the other’s pain even if for a little while.” But, Crow sees in Lyric a fire that others try to beat down with their verbal abuse. He makes it his life mission for Lyric to see the beautiful song bird she is.

From word one, you know where the story is going, but you will find yourself rooting for these characters with all your heart. Trejo give her readers a lesson in love, loss and self-worth in one novel. Depending on your perspective, this is a HEA book. LOVE that this book’s heroine is plus sized (or real sized as I call myself). Trejo’s books never disappoint …although you may want to shake your fist at her after the end of many of her books. I can’t wait to see which Soulless Bastard is next and dive deeper in to the world of delicious, dark debauchery again.

*I received an ARC of this book, but does not reflect on my review.

I do believe that this author is a very good writer. I’m not going to go over the story. Everyone has already done that either way. I have enjoyed other books by her. This series is entitled Soulless Bastards so I guess we have to expect a certain amount of heartbreak and angst but the author has taken that to heart and so far, each book has ripped my heart to shreds. We are talking about triggers. I have had difficulty with the last couple of books in this series. It is so emotional I found myself distraught and a little depressed after. I had to keep reminding myself, it’s only a book but it definitely got to me. I come from a family who’s experienced so much loss there is only 2 of us left, so I don’t know how much that comes to play, a lot I guess, but be warned, this isn’t a rom com and no one sings silly little songs through out. This probably isn’t the best book for a suck like me so I’m not sure if anyone else was as affected by the content as I have been. If you like dark, brooding, intense and well written books, this is definitely a good book for you 😊. I voluntarily received an arc copy of this book from the author and purchased a copy as well

It has taken hours since I finished this story for me to be able to sit down and write this review. There is no way I can do this book justice. I read and listen to a lot of books and this has to be the most emotional stories I know of. I DON’T LIKE TO PUT SPOILERS IN REVIEWS BUT I HAD TO IN THIS ONE SO BE ADVISED.

Crow is not the stereotype biker. He is made up of a different type person that what I expect from a biker. There have been plenty of bikers who go soft for a woman and family but not faced with these issues. He doesn’t quite have the hardness of a biker. He is more the dad everyone wants. He is also the guy that things just don’t seem fair. His relationship with women doesn’t seem to go right until he meets Lyric. She is totally different from other women he has known. She is suffering with her own issues. Together they seem to fit. This turns out not to be you HEA or even HFN type story. I think the author did a great job in pointing out that Crow had so many people who cared about him. He had formed so many relationships but he was missing the one thing that was his heart. I liked the secondary characters. Some were from previous stories and I enjoy when I feel like old characters are involved in ongoing stories because it gives me a feeling of familiarity. This author does an excellent job with her stories having such relatable characters even though I have never been involved in any motorcycle gangs. She also did an outstanding job of making me cry through more than a few parts of this book. The ending, I feel is perfect even though I was in tears for awhile. As always I look forward to her next story, or maybe after this one I’m not sure my emotions can handle it.

I am crying as I right my review for a book that I know is fictional. This is the unsurpassed talent of Erin Trejo. I am telling you that this woman wrote a release that is indescribable and yet beautiful.

My personal preference is MC romance and as many of you know, there are so many ways to love. In this book, Crow, I have to tell you that an Author being able to touch reader's this way is a gift. A gift Ms. Trejo has completely nailed. This installment to The Souless Bastards MC is going to rip your heart out in the unimaginable ways and it was a gift to read. I must apologize for rambling but I am so damn impressed. I try extremely hard never to give away any part of the plot of a read because I do not want to ruin it for reader's. Within these unique pages, Crow struggles along until he comes face to face with another lost soul like his own, Lyric. Both have known unimaginable pain and are thrown together for a reason. I encourage all reader's to follow along as they find peace. If this release doesn't touch your heart, I would be shocked. Realizism abounds in this unforgettable release.

I was beyond fortunate to have requested an advanced reader's copy of Crow in exchange for my honest & voluntarily given opinion and I couldn't recommend it more as well as anything written by Ms. Trejo.

I haven't read any of the other books in this series so Crow was a first for me, and I really enjoyed the story of Him and Lyric.
They are both so lost.
After the death of her mother Lyric, being a slightly larger girl has been put down so much she feels she is disgusting and will never find someone who could think she is beautiful enough to love her.
Crow is tortured by the 4 awful minutes one night that tore his life apart.
Both go to a warehouse to end their lives when it seems that it is all just too much, yet instead of finding death they find each other.
Tortured souls who are still here to hopefully save each other and bring each other the love they need to survive, Is it enough tho or will the darkness eventually pull them under.
Although I enjoyed the book I would have preferred it in a dual point of view, there was a lot of description about Lyric appearance wise from Crow but not really any of crow himself.
I hadn't really pictured him in my head as having hair until he was shaving it off, maybe if i'd read the first few books rather than went straight into book 4 as an arc review I would've known a little more of the small details like this tho.

~~~~~~~~~~Tracy's ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Review~~~~~~~~~~
I had to take a couple days to write this review after reading this book because it moved me so much and every time I tried to write it I broke down in tears. Crow and Lyric find themselves in a place where they both are filled with so much pain but their meeting was meant to be. It is through their pain that they both learn to love and live again. This story was about more than just a romance, it was more than a story about two souls meeting, it was a story about loss and finding your way again. The ending of this book was perfect for this story. I know the book ends but I hope the story continues. I loved how Crow showed Lyric how to shine and show her inner goodness. I fell in love with Crow so much and Lyric was his perfect half. Erin Trejo did it again and she keeps amazing me with such emotional and compelling stories that make me feel so much. HIGHLY RECOMMEND and I wish I could give it more than five stars.
