“I thought this marriage was only for convenience, but now I find myself fighting for my one true love...” -Rowan
Cataleya Thomas has been dealt the short end of the stick her entire life. With a mother who only has regard for herself, she was left to raise herself. She graduated college top of her class, but with nothing to show for it, she feels as though it was a waste. At thirty, she’s drowning in debt, working a job she hates, and to make matters worse, she’s facing eviction after her mother once again puts their livelihood in jeopardy. Then in walks the man who broke her heart just six months earlier with a plan to fix it all. His idea—a marriage of convenience.
Rowan Mitchell has it money, cars, and his pick at any woman he wants. Tragedy strikes, and it sends his life in another direction. A promise to his sister, just seven years earlier, makes him an instant dad after a drunk driver takes the life of her and her husband. He’s now responsible for his niece, Rayleigh, and though he has no idea how to raise a child, he has a bigger issue at his parents. With a custody battle on his hands, his lifestyle becomes the focal point of their case. A run-in with Cataleya at a bar sparks an idea that could save them both, but in the end, he finds himself fighting for something else—her love.
Enjoyed this love story from beginning to the end. Really liked Leya and Rowan together.....liked their chemistry and glad they got it together in the end. Highly recommend and good job Asia Monique.
I enjoyed this book... The storyline was pretty nice... It flowed at a nice fast steady pace... There was no edge of the seat moments... But the storyline was enough to hold my attention and hold it... Although there was times when the story was building up with a secret... I feel like the secret was not as big as they were building it up for... So it was kind of disappointing... But again I did enjoy the storyline... I really liked all the characters... Well except for the mothers... But as you read you will see why... Cataleya was such a sweet young woman... She just had a no good mother that made her have to grow up way before her time... And all because of what a man did to her... I hate when mothers take their anger for a man out on the child... I be like woman you ate the one that chose to be with and lay down with this man... The child didn't make you do it... ugh... Well Cataleya had to deal with all her mothers bad decisions and ended up taking on more than she could afford... Then the topper what when Her mother was not paying the mortgage with the money that Cataleya was giving her to pay it...ugh that woman kept making me mad... Well Cataleya handled it well and kept it pushing... Lucky for her she at least has her best friend Jessi that she can turn to when she needs to vent... There is no telling where she would be without her... Jessi was an amazing friend... She held secrets and didn't throw things in Cataleya's face and she supported her when Cataleya needed her the most... Especially when Cataleya got her heart broken by Rowan... Rowan is a pretty good guy... well except for how he did Cataleya... Yes he is a single man and definitely living the single life... But he needs to know how to be a man when handling these women... Let them know what it is... Don't play with their emotions... Well I am talking about how he did Cataleya... Then because of how he handled her... He never knew what she went through... I really did feel bad for him with what happened to his sister... And just that quick... He is an instant dad... But not without the biggest battle of his life against his parents and his heart... Cataleya and Rowan were both in a very bad situation... But it just so happen that they each had what the other needed to help their situations... Yet there is one big problem... They are both trapped in their own mind about what they want and what they think the other wants and feels and they are not listening to what the heart wants the most... They both hurt their own feelings so much because of this... But this little precious 7 year old named Rayleigh is the one that really stepped in and helped the adults... I guess it is bad when a child has to make adults see what is right in front of them... I loved that everyone was finally able to find some type of happiness... Even though it took them longer that it should have taken... But in the end all. That matters is that they did find happiness...
This one was a nice, sweet romance. Cataleya had a good heart. She had major issues with her mom, but she didn't turn her back on her. Rowan experienced a huge blow in his life with his sister's accident. These two had a lot in common. They were stubborn, but super cautious with their hearts with regards to the opposite sex. Their communication issues though, were nerve-wracking. Little Rayleigh was a sweetheart, she was definitely wise beyond her years. I've never had any major complaints with this author's work and this one was no exception. Good work
This author is one of my favorites. I love a book with an equal balance of love and drama. This was not your usual girl gets saved by a thug. This was a story built on a man and a woman finding their way back to love and exploring the idea of a family. Although this book did not just come out, when I got the alert about this book I stopped what I was reading and jumped right into this. This was truly a very well written story. Looking forward to more books by this author.
I really enjoyed this love story. It was good from the beginning. I loved Leya and Rowan together....I highly recommend this as a must read...I hated to see it end. Asia you have done it again...great job
I’ve few to love this author and her amazing love stories.. it amazes me how she draws me in and keep me interested from the beginning to the end. I would like a little more from her.. the storyline was great along with the characters
I enjoyed this story. Rowan and Leya were good for each other even though they tried to deny it for a while. Glad everything worked out for them. Would like to know why Rowan’s parents were like that.
Leya and Rowan. Rocky start to their relationship but solid finish. Nothing is worse than parents that refuse to see how toxic they are and how it effects the lives of their children. Glad Rowans dad saw the light and Leyas mom too. But more importantly I'm glad that Leya and Rowan took a real chance on love.
It was a good book. I loved his niece she add so much to the story line without even having a POV. I wish it was a little longer but other than that I enjoyed it.
Rowan and Cataleya had hooked up through their two best friends and Rowan got ghost on Cataleya when he started developing feelings not knowing she was pregnant and miscarried their baby. She never stopped loving him and their fake marriage brought out those feelings that she was trying to hide not knowing that he was hiding his feelings as well. Eventually, they worked everything out to get their HEA with Rowan, Cataleya, and Rayleigh.
This book was awesome. The two main characters or definitely something else. You could feel their chemistry coming off of each page. I was glad when they got themselves together and really gave their Love a try. I definitely recommend you read this book and take this amazing journey to Love.
It was so good and it was different. I think that’s why I liked it. The uniqueness of it. It wasn’t the typical chemistry/love at first look. The whole marriage convenience was a dope spin on the typical romance read. Rowan and Leya were meant to be, life just had a way of bringing them together and they couldn’t deny that their love was deeper than tangibles. And miss Ray was so darn adorable. Good job 👏🏾 I recommend!
Asia Monique did it again I knew Leya and Rowan would find their way regardless of how stubborn they both were and Rayleigh wasn't having none of that foolishness with them ! Feel free to give us an update Asia !!!
This was a long, emotional journey but I enjoyed every moment of Leya & Ro's story. They both had so much emotional and family baggage to contend with, but it was great to see them come out better on the other side. Glad I found this author, this book was excellent!
This is a very compeling story...forgiveness can only be attained after you accept the transgression ---not the apology. Rowan was awesome! I'm so glad he embraced his future and allowed himself to love. Leya had me stressed out, but I know the damage that unconditional love can cause when its abused. Together the healed and loved.
Asia Monique is great story teller; her writing is always on point! Rowan and Cataleya and his niece Rayleigh; adorable love! No messing around with family love!!!
I absolutely love this book, I love every book written by the talented Asia Monique. This book is a delightful and utterly heartwarming love story . The characters are highly developed and the storyline flowed nicely . This book kept my interest from start finish..... Impossible to put down. I highly recommend this book.
I love a good marriage of convenience story which was probably what kept me reading this one but I just didn’t like it. It was a quick read, so a lot wasn’t flushed out, such as we don’t know why exactly Rowan was a man-whore with commitment issues, we could only assume it was because of his upbringing. Plus i just didn’t like him, i felt that he wasn’t there for the heroine most of the times besides monetarily, such as, she was dealing with things with her family but he didn’t call to check up on her, he just let her go and paid all her bills. I’m sure emotional support would have been nice. In addition to being a man-whore, he was bossy and cocky (I wanted to smack him each time he smirked which was a lot) all qualities I hate in a hero. He was also forgiven too easily.
