This five-book series is well-worth 99 cent investment. On #KU, it's only one read! With hundreds of five-star ratings, and a 4.5 star average for the series, this one is not to be missed!
Baker. Enjoyed the story. Cash. This story wasn't as good as the rest because I really didn't like Cash. Goose. Loved this story. Ghost. That book broke my heart. It has been forever since I cried over a book. Reno. This was difficult book to review. I had no compassion for Carma. She knew the consequences of being a illegal alien. They could have asked for asylum because of Angel. The information she could tell authorities would have given her family the help. Reno, I understand that he would call in favors but....
Looking forward to Tito's story. It just came out and had to rehash his brothers lives before starting the new book.
DEVIL'S DISCIPLES BOX SET : MOTORCYCLE CLUB ROMANCE by Scott Hildreth is an amazing series that is set apart from other MC works. Scott does it with a style that makes the characters come to life. You are missing out on brilliance if you do not grab the box set as Scott knows how to write like no other.
Baker (Devil's Disciples MC #1) is like one smooth ride. This is my first read of Scott’s work and I must say I am an instant fan. The characters are well developed and the writing is very vivid that you can imagine being right there with them. I found myself laughing out loud at the antics of these men and the women they encounter. I fell in love with most of the characters but had a hard time with Cash, I hope when his book comes there is a lot more to him than meets the eye. If I ever needed help these guys would be the ones to call on. I mean, who does not like sexy bad boy bikers? What I also love is that the romance is written by a male. Baker, the leader of the Devil’s and is a man who is happy with his life as a biker with his brothers and does not desire to change. But when one sassy woman moves in next door his life just became more complicated. This is not your typical biker story but that doesn’t mean it isn’t well worth the read because let me tell you it most certainly is.
Cash (Devil's Disciples MC #2) is another great story in this series. I must admit that Cash did not a lot for me in the first book, Baker, but he certainly redeemed himself in this book. The characters are men who look out for each other and are right the wrongs that they see affecting others. They are not perfect and are most definitely flawed by their pasts. Once again I found myself laughing out loud and often tears running down my face. One of the characters Jennifer is absolutely insane but you cannot help but love her. Scott’s writing is once again spot on and he is very talented with his words. Cash is often overlooked in the brains department but is loyal to a fault and not afraid to say his peace. He is also the brawn in the club and is not afraid to use it. He is a sworn bachelor and no woman can make him change his mind or can they? Grab a copy of the book, grab a drink and prepare for one good ride.
Ghost (Devil's Disciples MC #3) is wow, just wow. It is the book of all books. It is the pinnacle of stories. It is the story of a lifetime. It is holey moley. Scott, Scottie, Scot-tie what can I say, it is one emotional rollercoaster ride and I must say that I was not in a million years prepared for the ending. OMG, did not see that coming. If you have not guessed it yet, I am here to tell you this is the book of the series. I loved these characters who had me laughing and crying all the way through and absolutely balling as I got closer to the ending. I am still thinking about the book after finishing almost a week ago. Ghost has had so much happen in his life that it has left a little cynical in the belief realm. When he meets Abby his life will be forever changed. I cannot tell you anything more about the story as it is one that you need to fully experience for yourself. This one will require a good stiff drink, a cigarette or two, possibly a cold shower, definitely alone time and a box of tissues. Let me just say that this is a masterpiece that should not be missed by anyone and I mean ANYONE! If Scott is not on the bestseller list with this one, he should be...................
Goose (Devil's Disciples MC #4) is another story of these great Alpha guys in the MC club and mixed in with another MC to add a little bit more spice to life. I love Scott’s work, and no one writes a MC story like he does. He is a brilliant wordsmith and it is through his vision of the world and characters that you feel like you are just as much a part of it as them. These guys are tough, and no nonsense and they love there one and done women but to watch them trying so hard not to fall in love is fun. I love that they are family and are written with humanity and humour that just makes you crack up We saw the death of Ghost and it has hit them all hard but non harder than Goose, but he did get to meet Ally, the woman who became friends with Ghost. Goose loves plants and loves things in order and Ally is not order. She makes him look at things differently, but she may just be what he needs, and she may have something the club needs as well. I loved Ally she is sassy and a no-nonsense kind of gal. She is also hiding a big secret and she hates to tell lies. Meeting Goose has made her determined to make him hers, but she will not be pushed around. The Devil's Disciples soon find out this tiny woman is the answer to their problems and are awed with what she can teach them. Another brilliant story from Scott.
Reno (Devil's Disciples MC #5) is a good old fashioned back to the basics of a MC club story. In this one we get to meet more of the members of different clubs and their women. Scott is the master when it comes to MC stories and they are easily imagined through his words. Ghost is my favourite of the series but Reno is right up there. This story had your heart pumping and lots of laughing as we deal with drug cartels, crooked cops, deportation and disposing of bodies. But let's not forget the bike runs, hot alpha men and the women who make them better. Camo is hiding from the one man who destroyed her life and has the power to do whatever he wants. She is smart and fun and won’t take sh*t from anyone, except for the men who want to kidnap her and take her back to a life of horror. When unsuspecting MC members come into her place of work she proves Reno is faced with walking away or helping the beauty out of a bad situation. Never one to walk away from helping someone he has now painted a mark on his back and those around him with one of the deadliest men in the world. The question is can they both overcome their past and find a future together. OMG this one had me in fits of laughter, especially the shower scene. Brilliant writing Scott brilliant.
I can’t get enough of anything that Scott Hildreth writes his characters are some of the most real characters I have ever read. This collections has all of the Devil’s Disciples books in one shot. Each story follows a different biker and his lady. My personal favorite is Ghost. His story of love and loss completely breaks you in the best possible way, it is so beautifully written you feel such deep emotion while reading it. I cried through most of his book and even on into The next book. I loved the series as well as his Filthy F*ckers series. Great read !!
I'm actually reading this as part of a massive book set of 3 series: Selected Sinners, Filthy Fuckers, and Devil's Disciples. The only one I've hated enough to review so far is A-Train's book. The Selected Sinners was my favorite series.
Devil's Disciples may be my least favorite series so far, when I'm only one book in. I didn't like the immediate "take your clothes off and fuck me" approach from Baker (maybe I have Hildreth fatigue as I was binging over the holidays), I didn't believe in the love story especially from someone as resistant as Baker though the way Hildreth writes women I knew she'd accept him pretty soon, and there was absolutely no reason for Cash to put himself out there like that to save Andy.
Also: for a guy who has written something like 50 books and is an international best seller, you'd think he'd have a copy editor, and/or have trained his grammar checking software that he probably doesn't mean "lair" when describing a person (3 out of 4 times the word is lair instead of the intended liar). That is the most egregious error that I remember from the first book though it's repeated in other books. The dropped words, extra words, wrong words make comprehension occasionally difficult, even with context.
Thankful that I didn't pay for this and got it off Kindle Unlimited during a 30 day free trial.
I finished "Ghost", wrote a scathing review ("You broke the compact. I will never read another book from you."), and returned it to KU. You don't let the heroine die and kill the hero shortly after. Not in a romance book. That's not an HEA, even if you show her greeting him in heaven. That might work if you believe in an afterlife, but even then, you broke the compact between you and your reader. I don't trust you, Scott, and your lack of editing has gotten on my nerves. You are also incredibly inconsistent. Some might see this as creativity, but if I want to read an MC romance, I expect certain things. Even within the series between "Baker" and "Ghost", I got completely different styles that gave me whiplash.
Scott Hildreth has been a favorite author of mine since the first book I read of his. Since then, I haven't been disappointed with any of his books, and I doubt that I ever will be. The Devil's Disciples MC is quite a bit different from traditional MC stories, but in the best of ways. They were brothers in every way except blood, which made what they had even more special. After reading each of their stories, getting to know the true men behind the masks they wore, and the special ladies that entered into their lives, I can honestly say that this is one series that I'll be reading again and again.
With lots of hilarious banter, emotional turmoil, heartbreaking childhoods, suspenseful twists and turns, and unexpected surprises that you will never see coming, this was a fantastic series that everyone who loves MC's will enjoy. I have to say that I was very disappointed at the end of this book, that was until I realized that there was one story left, and it's immediately available. (Which I promptly borrowed!) Don't forget to check out the last story in the series after this book, cause they're all absolutely amazing.
I would definitely recommend this book, series, and exceptional author.
One heck of an amazing read that is a non-stop bundle of suspense! The nail-biting storylines will keep you on edge with anticipation for making the perfect choices and a great HEAs! Emotionally engrossing, witty, exciting and enjoyable! Lip-biting hot chemistry! An amazing bad boy must read that will have you rooting for Mr. Right to take a hike! This Series had me laughing and crying (Especially Ghost and Goose stories), I couldn't put it down, until i started Ghost's story and couldnt read the words, then again with Goose's. Man, Scott Hildreth you do know how to hit the heart and soul of the Reader!! I will be getting all of your stories now!! Thank you for All your hard work!!
To say I loved this series is an understatement, I enjoyed the banter between all the characters. Each person's storyline i found captivating. I laughed, cried, was actually on the edge of my seat. I loved all of them but my favorite which hit me hard the most of all the couples was Ghost and Abby. Their story lingers in the back of my mind through my continuing read. That one is pretty unforgettable.
First off, where is Tito's book? Second, there were only two authors that made me cry while reading their books, now Scott is the 3rd. The characters were believable, as were the storylines. Parts of the stories also made me laugh hard. I love Scott's style of writing. I bought this series because I enjoy biker books, am sure glad I did. I also have a new author to add to my small list of authors to support.
I wonder how Scott decided on Great Falls MT for the hometown of the guys. I'm currently sitting at our kitchen table, in Great Falls MT. I fully agree that Montana is not a state you would want to ride your bike for 365 days.
The book that hit me the hardest out of the series? I'd Ghost's book. Goose's was a close second. Cash is a dude I could've done with out. Ally did a dang fine job at dealing with him.
Devil’s Disciples MC Boxset is action packed and gritty with a touch of hearts and flowers to have you swooning. An emotional series that will have you laughing, crying and falling in love. These bad ass bikers take you on an emotional fast paced ride with some twists and turns thrown in to have you on the edge of your seat.
I'm giving this three stars, because I did make it through 2.5 of the books, but then I'd had enough. I love MC romance, and I had high hopes. Unfortunately there is hot & romantic crude, and just crude. I didn't really FEEL any of the emotions, and ballsy heroines aren't my cuppa tea. Disappointed and didn't want to waste my time on the rest.
except for Ghost. No I like him too just not the sad part about his book. I cry every time and it doesn’t matter if it’s the first time or the twentieth time I’ve read it. It still gets to me. Read these books!!!!!
Great set of stories. The Devil's Disciples are a different type of MC. Still a family that has each other's backs but without the cuts. The stories are funny, sexy, and a touch of danger.
I loved every minute of each story. Very well written. Never wanted to put it down, reading well into the night. I love how all the characters have different personalities and each story was unique. Great stories!
I was surprised how amazing this was! Amazing, and shocking. I couldn’t even believe what happened in Ghosts book. Let’s just say I was not expecting what happened. I will definitely be looking for more from this author!
I'm always amazed with Scott's writing. I'm never disappointed and this box set is one to compete with. I felt every emotion imaginable. I laughed, cried, wanted to through my kindle and so much more!
really good book. author is fantastic. minimal sex (which is good). Funny, suspense, sad, action. really loved this book. looking for ward to read more of scott hildreth books.
I won't rate this. I read book 1 before I got the boxset which I loved. I read book 2 which is another amazing story. I just couldn't finish book 3 so I didn't read the others.
Enjoyed reading each book - Ghost touched me deeply on personal level. All have determined men with special talents & strong women. There are various emotions, secrets & blind discoveries.
Super books, nice stories, great writing. The stories are not predictable, the ending was in some not to foreseen. It was a lucky star, that guided me top this author.
All I can say is you can’t go wrong with SH and getting to each of these guys in this MC Each’s story is amazing and the women they meet and not expect to love for all different reasons Not only do these women fall for Scott’s MC’s but so will you I can’t get enough of this Charter
