After the fiasco of 'Baby Mistake' book Amazon has decided that I need to read this book too so... Naturally had to put it behind me. Surprise, surprise this was not that bad.
In this story we deal with Sam who was Janelle's roommate in Baby Mistake book. After El moves out, the girl struggles with piling bills and new job. She decides to help Cameron who is in need for a fake fiancé in exchange for 50K. Who would have thought that she would also sell her heart in the process.
It was quite pleasant read. A little bit of emotional drama were the hero and heroine are not too sure of their own feelings but this read being so short, it wasn't as annoying as it would be in a longer book. Faking a relationship is hard as any other book, like this one l, out there can proof. Lines between reality and lie could dissappear quite quickly, leaving our characters in an internal dilemma as to if they should make it happen and have a chance at happiness or leave it and probably have a heart broken too. Plots like these usually have no action other than pursuing an emotional happy end. I'm OK with that as long as we get some speed on the way too!
Other than that I'm kind of glad that I gave the author one more chance. I was pleased with the result but I will say that I did not read the blurb before reading the whole story, didn't want to make the same mistake as with Janelle's story 😁

I love how well this author writes her storyline s the characters are always well developed with so much chemistry between the couple and with a little bit of twist makes for a wonderful read.

I received this book as an advanced reading copy and I would like to give my honest opinion about what I read. This book will, make you cry, you will get frustrated with the characters, and they will make you laugh out loud at some of the lines that Alexis comes up for these two people that she has created. Both go into this agreement with eye wide open each with their own goals. However the gray lines start to come forth, and each is afraid of rejection of the other. The problems with these two is they don’t know how to communicate. The question is will the learn how before it is too late. Samantha is in a real pickle right now. Since her friend Janelle or El I should say moved out to be with her fiance Griffin a few months ago her trying to make ends meet have come to the forefront of being impossible. She has even been working double shifts at the ER and that doesn’t even help. El comes to her apartment for their annual girls night of Netflix to discover that Samantha has had her internet turned off. She keeps asking Sam to let her help her but Sam has her pride and right now it is on the verge of biting her on the back end. Cameron Styles is one of three partners in a law firm. They have been trying to land this one account with a huge grocery chain for the last several years. Mr. Smithfield has an appointment with them that afternoon but had to move it up to the morning because he was expecting his first grand baby any moment now. He needed to fly out of Chicago and get back to Georgia ASP. Cameron had really wanted his fiends and partners there on the meeting. They were the ones that had more of the moral compass that Mr. Smithfield was looking for. Not that Cameron was a bad guy it is that he was a playboy of sorts. He didn’t do relationship. He had his reasons why but I don’t think that even he really knew why. Mr. Smithfield was not convinced that Cameron was the right man to represent their family oriented company. In a moment of panic he told Mr. Smithfield he had changed and even had a fiancee now. The only problem was is that he did not, and he needed someone to find and fast. Mr. Smithfield had invited him and his fiancee to spend the week with them in Georgia in his guest house before he decided on singing a contract with him. He went to his friend Griffin to tell him about his problem. Sam was leaving work when the doctor that she has been crush on for months now asked her out on a date that night. Of course she agreed. She even called El her exciting new on the way home. El also told her what she had over hear Griffin and Cameron talk about. El told her that it would be the perfect way to get herself out of her mess she was in. Sam however assured El that everything was fine. She rushed into her apartment turned on the lights and...nothing. She found some candles and went to the box that she kept her money and bills and sure enough there was the electric bill with a big fat final notice stamped on the front of it. Opening it she found that it would cost over nine hundred dollars to catch up with her past bills and the attitudinal to have it turned back on. More than her paycheck. Now she knew that she had to take the job offer with Cameron. When they meet she didn’t let on any false airs about herself. She let him know exactly the type of person that she was. Though he didn’t want to admit it Cameron was drawn to her. He gave her the contract after their dinner evening she went home to look over it then agree to everything it said. There was on thing that Cameron had left out of it with out thinking and that was the sex part of the contract. These two get together with one agreement but all they do is confuse themselves with their own feeling and not knowing how to interpreter the others. They do some insane things together but then again the unknowing know how to hurt each other as well. Will these two ever find their happy ever after? I guess that is just one thing that will have to be read to find out if and how.
OMG what a hot book! Alexis has done it again! You will not be able to put this book down. I could not wait to see what would happen next. Her characters are vibrant and full of life. The sex is steamy. There are misunderstandings, tense moments, lots of times where the line between acting and reality blurs, jealousy, and of course, HEA. Cameron is sex-on-a-stick handsome. Rich, famous. He can have any woman he wants, and he wants a lot of women, just no relationships. When his potentially biggest client informs him his businesses are family oriented, and that he honors family values above all else, Cameron thinks he is in trouble. He knows it when he's invited to spend a week with the client and his family. So he invents a fake fiancé. Now he just has to produce her. Enter Samantha. Beautiful, but about to be evicted, Sam is desperate. When her BFF tells her that her husband's best friend, Cameron needs a fake fiancé for a week and is willing to pay dearly for the privilege, well, what else is a girl to do? Even though there is a contract in place, neither Cameron or Samantha are sticking to it. The sparks fly between them. They can't avoid their emotions, or the bedroom. Yes there is steamy sex. Watch as they try to overcome their barriers and admit they are falling in love. HEA is assured. But it is not an easy road to get there. I loved this book! It is a keeper.
This book contains sex, mature themes and language and is intended for mature, 18+ readers only.

•••There's a lot of spoilers probably in this book••••
So omg this book was actually good, and also different from the other engage pretend books I have read which is 100% better and a plus... I don't think I would've liked this book if it was; so with that being said.....
I never thought that Samatha best friend Janelle aka El.... was the one that set up this fake engagement with Cameron... I knew that both Cam and Sam was going to end up falling for one other, especially with the way they were acting towards one another. With Cam getting jealous when Sam went out on the date with Dr. Ken aka Dr. McSexy. I think Samatha did the right thing because for one it proved that Cameron actually was jealous and upset about her talking to another man... knowing that he had a feeling for her and genuinely loved her. But neither of them confessed their love for one other because both were scared. But in the end it was Janelle who gotten them well more so Cameron to go over and talk to Samatha and both of them end up apologizing to each other; and ended up getting engaged for real this time.... this book was awesome can't wait to read the other two books "Castile hotel series".
Sam is returning home from her long shift at the hospital. Her former roommate, El, who had moved out to live with her boyfriend, was waiting for her for their pizza and movie night. But El saw the stacks of bills on the table and asked Sam about how she truly was doing. She offered money, she offered a loan when a gift was refused, but Sam was too proud to accept help. Her internet access was already shut off, so she was pretty isolated! With her 12-hour shifts, she couldn’t easily work a second job, even if she had the internet available to look for one!
Cameron Styles was a successful lawyer getting ready for an important client meeting. Image was everything, so he tried to be eco-friendly and tried to reflect the values and morals of his clients. He was quite a playboy, but tried to keep that quiet so his reputation remained perfect, avoiding controversy and staying out of the media. As he walks into the lobby of his law office, a woman approaches and follows him to the elevator. She introduces herself as Mr. Smithfield’s assistant – the potential important new client he is meeting with this afternoon. Mr. Smithfield’s daughter went into labor early and he cannot attend the late meeting. He has only the morning open. So Cameron has to scramble to prepare. Unfortunately the two other managing partners he counted on to join him were too far away on business and could not get there in time. He would have to do this one – his most important client opportunity – on his own.
Mr. Smithfield arrived and said he thought Styles, Schmidt & Fitz would be the perfect law firm for his family-owned business. However, he had one concern. He took out a picture of Cameron leaving a nightclub with two women on his arm. The picture was from 4 years ago, when Cameron had just gotten out of law school and used poor judgment. It was not who he was now. But Mr. Smithfield did not want that to reflect badly on his company and asked if Cameron had gotten married or was settled down with one woman to reflect his stability. As Cameron started to answer, he told Mr. Smithfield he was engaged. Mr. Smithfield’s phone rang, his assistant telling him she got him an earlier flight. He had to leave, but invited Cameron and his fiancée to join him in Georgia where they would finalize things if they found they were a good fit. Cameron needed a fake fiancée quickly!
Sam excitedly called El to tell her the new “hot doctor” just asked her out! She was elated! After sharing the news, El told her that her boyfriend Griffin didn’t have any work for her yet. But there was this other sort of opportunity to make some extra money . . . El told her Griffin’s playboy friend Cameron, the top lawyer in Chicago, needed a fiancée for a short time! At first she flatly declines! But when she gets home, her power is shut off. So she calls El back and agrees to be Cameron’s fake fiancée. Unfortunately, she has to cancel her date with the “hot doctor” to meet instead with Cameron – who arrived a half-hour late at the restaurant! He begins to interview her and immediately notices she is blunt and honest; she definitely speaks her mind! Would this fake fiancée thing work?
This book was a joy to read! The reader can almost guess that Cameron is going to have a rough time as the feisty, strong Sam interacts with him! The characters are very well developed, and the story line draws the reader in. You won’t want to miss this one – it’s funny and you will care about the characters you meet along the way!
Sam is a nurse and when her roommate moves out, she does her best to keep up with all of the expenses, however when a couple of surprise expenses occur, she is in desperate need of cash. Cameron needs a fake fiancé for his image and Sam is willing to take the job. What will happen when sparks begin to fly? Fast-paced read with plenty of drama and steam. A fun entertaining read. I liked it!
Fifty stars!! I can't say enough good things about this book. Samantha is a nurse struggling to pay bills and put food on her table. Cameron is a lawyer in partners with two other lawyers in the biggest law firm in Chicago. He is secure and happy with his life of ready money and no worries. He is trying to land a rich client but first, he has to prove to that client that he is a man of good morals. Cameron needs someone to be his fiancee to prove himself worthy. He hires Samantha. Solves both problems. Can they convince said client? Will they be able to keep their hearts from being broken? They each assume instead of honest communication and you know what it means to assume. ( makes an ass out of you and me ) Fake It by Alexis Winter is a spectacular story with delightful humor, aww moments, and a happy ever after. You must read it.

Fake It by Alexis Winter this is book 3 in her Castille Hotel series.
I gave this book 5 stars - I loved everything little thing about this novel. This was a fake fiance romance were Cameron is a lawyer he is part owner of the firm and there's this client that he has been trying to get for a long time. The issue is that this guy is all about family values, and Cam is the furthest thing from committed relationships and fam values person there is.....his style is lots of women envolving one night stands with no strings attached ... So he quickly comes up with this brilliant idea that he is engaged, and he is forced to show up with a " fiancee". Samantha is the sweetest woman working 12 hour shifts in the hospital ER just to try and keep a roof over her head, but she quickly looses the battle and is forced to accept the big cash contract to be Cam is offering for her to be his fiancee for a few weeks. They were not counting on the chemistry they'll have for each other! This was the perfect witty, entertaining, some emotional, romantic sexy hot steamy romance story, there's definitely miscommunication between these two. There was some characters from the previous story which was great to meet since I haven't read the other books yet. This novel had a beginning, middle and end. The author took us alongside for the ride with Cam and Sam's love story until they found their HEA. This was a standalone, no cliffhangers and an epilogue which I love ❤️ . I can't wait to read more books by this author!

The rehabilitation of a known playboy and an overworked, underpaid nurse... Samantha is in dire straights. She’s dead broke and holding on to her utilities by a thread. She has no social life but she wants one. There’s this dreamy doctor at her hospital…yeah, she’d like to start something with him. El, her best friend and former roommate is now living with her wealthy boyfriend (from BABY MISTAKE). She has a great idea b/c she hears that Cameron, a BFF of her husband, will need a pretend fiancée and the pay is $50,000.00! Sam is skeptical b/c being the playboy Cameron’s fake anything sounds iffy but the money would be helpful right now. He has quite the reputation… Cameron is a very successful and wealthy lawyer who tries to be what his clients expect of him and right now he needs to appear to be settling down. Cameron has been hurt before so he steers far away from true entanglements. What he doesn’t expect is this snarky, saucy tell-it-like-it-is nurse, his fiancée for-hire. I so enjoyed this book. There are insecurities for both of them. See how they overcome them. Ms. Winter can write a very funny and sexy script. Some of this dialogue could be on SNL it is so funny. If you like this trope and a strong female character who gives as good as she gets, read this book. You will love it. I volunteered to review an ARC of this book through Booksprout.
I really enjoyed reading this book. “Fake It” is the story of Samantha and Cameron. Samantha is a nurse who is in deep financial crisis since her roommate, El moved out. Cameron is a high profile lawyer who told a prospective client with high family values that he is engaged to be married. Cameron needs a fake fiancé and is willing to pay her $50,000 for a few weeks of her time. El, who is engaged to Griffen, one of Cameron’s friends, hatches a plan that will help both Samantha and Cameron out of their respective troubles? The story is well-written with a progression that makes sense. The characters are real and likeable and, as it turns out, have a hot and steamy attraction to each other. It is amusing to read about the interactions between the couple and be able to predict the outcome of their story before either of them have a clue where they are headed. I’ve read a few books from Alexis Winter and I always enjoy her writing style. I think you will too, so what are you waiting for?

Amazing read with lovable characters When Samantha' s best friend and roommate gets engaged and moves out of their apartment, Samantha finds herself struggling to make ends meet. Cameron’s offer to play his fake fiancée couldn’t have come at a better time and Samantha’s the best candidate because not only can she pull this off, he believes that once this ruse is over, they’ll both walk away with no strings attached. Playing his fake fiancée is as challenging as walking a tight rope and Samantha does make a few unwise decisions that almost let the cat out of the bag. She’s feisty, outspoken, beautiful and perfect for the cocky, charismatic but uptight Cameron. Their chemistry is off the charts. They make this book intriguing with plenty of drama and laugh-out-loud moments. I love Ms. Winter’s writing style. It’s like being front and center in the book with these characters which in turn makes the journey getting to their HEA incredible. Fantastic read. Enjoy! **ARC kindly provided by the author in exchange for an honest review. Thank you! **
This was a great read. Sam is a nurse and is worried about how to pay all her bills. Her best friend, El comes up with an idea. If she pretends to be Cameron’s fake fiancé, her money problems will be over. At first she is against the idea, until she comes home to no power. Cameron, is a lawyer and he is trying to land a new client. This client is all about family values and doesn’t really like past pictures of Cameron with different ladies. Cameron accidentally lets slip that he is actually engaged to be married. Now Cameron has to find someone to pretend to be engaged. El and Griffin set it all up. These two are both workaholics and have no time for relationships. Neither one of them want marriage, kids, white picket fence, so they think all will be fine. They just weren’t counting on being instantly attracted to each other and their walls to come down. This was sweet and romantic, and I loved the characters, and the story. There is some miscommunication that makes you want to smack the two upside the head. Don’t miss out on this read. It is cute, romantic and funny.
Samantha ( Sam ) works 12 hour shifts at the hospital she is broke and the bills are piling up on the table, she won’t accept any money from her friend and former roommate El and soon she won’t even have an apartment. Cameron is a very successful lawyer image is everything even though he’s a playboy but what his clients don’t know won’t hurt them right!. Cameron lied to a very important client he said that he has a fiancé so the client invited him and his fiancé over to his house in Georgia where they will sign the contracts, now all Cameron has to do is to get a fiancé really quick. Sam’s friend El told her that there is this playboy that needs a fake fiancé immediately but Sam knocks her back until she gets home and finds that her power has been turned off, then she told El that she will do it. When they meet Cameron likes that Sam is straight forward now they both have to keep to the contract no feelings, but it’s funny how quick fake can turn into real. A fantastic story and I highly recommend this book it’s definitely well worth the read.
Samantha is a nurse down on her luck and trying to make ends meet. She is on the brink of being homeless but is hard headed and refuses the financial help her best friend offers. Cameron is a wealthy lawyer trying to gain a client and needs a fake fiancée to make it happen due to to a past photo of him. What would you do if someone handsome offered you a lot of $$$ to be your fake fiancée….? I absolutely loved the characters and plotline in this story. All the characters were well written an interesting. The chemistry between Cameron and Samantha was off the charts anazing. And I absolutely loved that Samantha was such a strong female character, plus she is full of sassy, witty and hilarious. There were sad moments but I was also laughing out loud during parts of this story. Alexis yet again weaves together another story so effortlessly. This book will keep you engaged from the first to last chapter and I could not put it down. I would definitely recomend this book.

A quick read with some “happy outcomes.” Cameron is a high-power, high-dollar, big-city attorney with an unrestrained libido. Everyone knows he’s a man-whore, including a possible big client who wants an attorney to share his own family values. Cameron “invents” a fiancé to prove he’s turning over a new leaf and has become a moral, upright man. He hires Samantha to pose as his fiancé, live with him, and be on his arm as they travel for a vacation at the client’s Southern estate. Of course, we all know how those all-business-no-benefits things work out, right? This book is a quick read but, believe me, you’ll soon be reading as fast as you can while trying to catch your breath! Will it turn into the real thing, or will they just fake it till Cam lands the client? Hint: they’re both commitment-phobic, so it’s a long shot!

This book book doesn’t disappoint! Samantha (Sam) Fix a nurse desperately needing money and will do anything to get out of debt. Cameron Styles an arrogant and womanizing wealthy lawyer trying to land a major client finds himself needing a fake fiancée. Sam agrees to the business transaction. Cameron will pay her fifty thousand dollars. Twenty five upon signing the contract and twenty five when the client signs with his firm. Neither are looking for relationships. Will they be able to keep it that way? So fake it til you make it that’s the question. Things heat up during their trip to Georgia. They tried with no success in keeping their hands off each other. Cameron successfully signs the client which puts an end to the their contact. The chemistry between Cameron and Sam is undeniable but was it enough to give them their HEA? This is a well written book and highly recommend. Read as an ARC reviewer.
This is book three in this series, I haven’t read the first two but had no problems following along. There are supporting characters in this book that you can tell were introduced previously and I will be going back to read about them.
This story focuses on Cameron, a hot shot lawyer who needs to prove he’s mended his playboy ways to land a very traditional client. He makes up a fake fiancée and then needs to find one. His friend suggests Samantha who is a bit down on luck and really needs a quick infusion of money. Samantha is not at all like the women he normally meets. She resists him and calls him on his BS. You’ll find yourself drawn into the story as they actually build a relationship and have to work on it. I really enjoyed how they didn’t just fall into each other. For me it made things so much more enjoyable when they did hook up.

Sam is struggling financially now that her best friend has moved out with her boyfriend She is working as many extra shifts as a nurse that she can but she can't make ends meet especially when things come from left field like her car breaking down and her cat getting sick Now she has no internet and the electricity has been cut of what is she going to do. Her friend Eli tells her that her boyfriends friend needs a fake fiance to tie up a deal could this be the answer to her problems. Cameron is a closet playboy he knows that he needs a clean image as a lawyer especially if he wants to get the big clients and he is about to close a deal with the biggest client of them all but they aren't sure about his image after seeing old photos of him so he needs to present a good image to this family man and what is better than a fiance who is a nurse. What happens when pretend starts to feel oh so real can they keep it business like or will it go of the reals and they will both get a HEA
The story was amazing. The storyline is great, the characters are so opposite. Samantha, a struggling nurse who is in need of money to help her with bills and such. She is an independent woman who refuses to ask for help. Her best friend, El, is wanting to be there for her too. Cameron, handsome, powerful Lawyer in Chicago decides he needs a fiancé. Well low and behold, he comes to find the perfect candidate. The two hit it off really well becoming friends! Samantha and Cameron and are so different that I believe that’s what makes this story great. I love their HEA and can’t wait to see what comes next for them.

Samantha is very broke but reluctant to follow El's suggestion to become Cameron's hired woman. However, her choices for making more money to pay her bills are non existent so she eventually agrees to meet with Cameron. After drawing up a contract Samantha moves in with Cameron. Some really funny moments follow as Samantha is prepared for her trip to Georgia. Their relationship develops and becomes hot and steamy despite them both trying to resist each other,

Samantha has been down on her luck lately. She works long hours at the hospital, is broke and about to be evicted when her best friend calls her with an offer she just can’t refuse but what will happen once the job is done??
Cameron is part owner of the top law firm in Chicago. While trying to land a big client his firm wants to represent the client tells him he is looking for a family man to represent his company, before he can even think about it the words flow out of his mouth. Now he needs to find a fake fiancé to help him land this client. Last thing he expected was the woman his friend suggests.
Lines will be crossed, words will be said but when the deal is done will they be able to walk away and pretend that the feelings don’t exist?? 🖤🖤
This was a great book! I fell in love with the characters. Cameron Styles is the most successful lawyer in Chicago. Along with that quality he is both arrogant and a complete jerk, handsome, and a complete ladies man. He needs to land the biggest client of his career. Except the client wants the lawyer he picks to be a family man with good morals. So Cameron does the only thing he can do in this situation...He says he is engaged to be married. Which is a big lie! A mutual friend tells Cam about Samantha Fox. She is down on her luck and needs a lot of money fast. They meet in person and Cam offers Sam 50K for Sam to play the part to perfection until he lands the client. It is an offer Sam can't refuse. But what happens when the job is done? Will they both be able to just walk away?
Simple but very good romance I really liked the two main characters of this rather classic account of false relationship. Samantha is a nurse who has struggled to each month since her roommate moved out. The latter, offers her to play the fake fiance of of her husband's friend. Cameron is a rich and cynical lawyer, but he needs a fake fiance to get a contract. I found that it was extremely well written, in a good style, and well described in terms of feelings, with good dialogues and characters who have temperament, who are stubborn and who have trouble communicating to the point of creating problems where there are none. In short, the characters compensate for a story that I never found boring. I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book
Fake It is a fast read that delivers characters with great chemistry and a solid story line. Cameron and Samantha are an unlikely match. Cameron is a successful, self proclaimed bachelor and Samantha is a nurse that is hanging on by a thread. He needs a fiance and she needs cash, fast. Despite their snarky banter, there are several smirk worthy and chuckle moments between the two. This book does not revolve around the Castille Hotel like the others but the sub characters are brought in seamlessly to make the tie in. This is a quick and entertaining book that can be read as a stand-a-lone or part of the series.

Short but Sweet and Sassy. Fake It - Castille Hotel Series Book 3, by author Alexis Winter is a quick read that left me feeling satisfied and happy to have read it. There were strong, well developed characters all around, but especially Samantha and Cameron who that lent to enjoying the storyline as well. Fake fiancées is not an original idea therefore it becomes even more important for the author not to drop the the ball. And since this is close to a novella in length, that was the perfect way to go. Definitely recommending this book for your reading enjoyment and pleasure. I am leaving this review for your consideration. Peace.

Sam , a nurse, is exhausted from her 12 hour shifts plus overtime and is hugely in debt. No matter how many extra shifts she takes, she still can't pay her bills after her roommate moved out. Cameron is a lawyer who needs to look more like a family man to gain a lucrative client. Sam's best friend, El, sets her up to act as Cam's fiance. I loved Sam's personality. She really told it like it was. She challenged Cameron and they built a relationship, getting to know each other. Their banter and connection was fabulous although their communication sometimes was lacking. The sex was hot and their connection was explosive. They get their HEA but because I've invested myself in their story, I'd like to have an additional epilogue. I don't want to say good-bye to this couple.
This was my first read by Alexis Winter. I love finding new authors and new stories.
Sam is struggling financially. When her friend mentions that a friend of her boyfriend is looking for someone to fake a relationship (with pay) she pass the offer. But when she gets home and finds herself in the dark, she changes her mind.
Cam is the typical playboy. Looking for a good time without the complications of a relationship. But when he’s looking to land a new client and said client its the family type, he finds himself looking for the perfect girl for a fake relationship.
Can Sam and Cam fake it? Or will they break their hearts in the process?
I am definitely going back and read her first two books on the series.
