When Julien Hunter is recruited out of college as an elite asset for a nationwide anarchist group, he expects for it to be simple--the occasional challenge, a good payday, the stroking of his rebellious ego, and the occasional beautiful face in his bed whenever he has to go covert. But then he sees her, Ari Johnson, and everything he's ever known is turned to dust.
He and Ari spend a forbidden evening together in her hotel suite, and although Julien knows he must leave her or risk compromising a mission, he can't get Ari out of his head.
A year later, they run into each other again. Julien is a different man, a hardened man after having spent the last several months undergoing a life-or-death training for a counter-terrorism ghost unit. A training that nearly costs him his life. So this time, he takes chase. He won't let Ari go and nothing, no one, will stop him from making her a permanent part of his life.
But the life he's built is dangerous. The enemies he's made are focused only on one thing--kill him and everyone attached to him.
When he gets a phone call that changes his life, threatens the very world he is trying to build with the love of his life, he will do anything to punish those responsible. In the worst way possible.
In this 3rd installment of Angels and Assassins, we get a serious peak in to the lives of Julian and Ari. We also get updates on Dex, Gage, Mo and Georgio. Julian is a dad with a precocious daughter Thandie. However, Julian has been on edge, then all heck breaks loose on Thandie's first day at school. The gang goes into offense mode and Julian realizes his past has come to haunt him in the worst way. Ari recalls her 1st meeting of Julian when he was working. They each remember how they came to know they were made for each other. Someone tries to breakup their marriage and kill the couple. This is a page turner because the deceit and lies begin to pile up but no clue as to where Thandie is and who has her. Julian is on edge and Ari nor he are sleeping much. A blast form Julians' past says she has come to help. However, Ari is very suspicious of this new comer. Julian has an intense dislike for the FBI agent in charge of their case. Ms. Walker has done it again her writing of this novel. Julian discovers his past has more secrets than he could even imagine. Can't wait to read part four as there is a "teaser" into the dynamics of why Giorgio is Mo's shadow..YEah I can't wait.
First let me start by saying this is a five star book, I have read every book in this series. BUT I gave it 4 stars because even though it was stand alone I did not understood what was going on with the characters until the 15% mark. I also I think these books are far in between because I completely forgot what happened previously And the characters.
The Anarchist by itself was a great story after it was developed.
Another 5 stars worthy book from this author. I loved the love between this couple even through their darkest time. Their coming together all those years back was just as beautiful. Omg and the gang!! It’s wonderful when you have friends turn brother/sister that will always have your back no matter what. Now I’m even more excited to read Mo and Gio’s story.
I'm not sure about this one. They are so far and between that I was over 1\2 way before I could put the characters in their rightful places. But all in all I'm not adverse to the possibility of reading the next book
I enjoyed the story, however, way too many characters to keep up with. I went back to check if I read the other books. Turns out that I did, but there a characters that don’t have books yet. It was confusing. Overall, a good story.
This was awesome! Loved Team alpha. The storyline was great. Ari and Julien were perfect for each other. Thandie - why know one in the family talked of her great escape., is beyond me. She is 5 years old. Can’t wait to read about Gio. On to the next one.
This book was long, boring, and confusing. I hardly knew who each person was or understand who's child belong to whom. This was a mess. I had a headache by the time I finished reading this book. Hard pass.
I have loved every book to have so far about these Men and Women. They are all something. I have loved them all. How different they all are. How far special they are to me as a reading.
Thank you so much for introducing us to Curtis in this book and how these crazy guys got together in the first place. I always wonder about Curtis and how he was as a man and being apart of the group. I'm glad that we got to meet him and understand why Cndrtis is so missed by everyone.
I like hearing about Ari and Julien Love Story. How the met and fell in love with one another. Gage and his crazy ass interrupting every time they went on a date or tried to be along together. I thought it was so cute how Gage looked out for Ari and Mo.
What I loved most about reading this book or any of the books you have written about these people how strong not only the men in this book. but the women are just as strong too. They can stand on their own not wait for a man to come and rescue them out of trouble.
Mo is a Badass woman that don't play with a gun. I liked her a lot. Ari, when she and Julien was on that high speed car chase. I mean the girl could wheel a car or truck and shot that FBI creep. I knew from the start that he couldn't be trusted. They way he was getting close to Ari. I knew something was up with him. I guess Ari had, had enough and shot him like she did. She wanted that man dead. I know it.
Just like I knew it had to be someone working at the school. How else could these people pull this thing off like they did. I knew something was up. They came in too easy to kidnap the kids like they did.
I was so proud of Thandie and how she got away from the woman like she did. Mommy and Daddy taught her well. Then again with a Mama and Daddy like Julien and Ari I knew that Thandie would take her chance and get away. Plus she had Uncles and Aunts that would fight to their own deaths to have her back home.
I was so great and wonderful how when Thandie and the other children were kidnapped. Everyone stopped what they were doing in their own lives to be there for Thandie, Julien and Ari, to not give it a second thought to help their brother and sister in need. It was so great the love they had for this little girl and parents.
I can't wait to read the next book. I know that it will be jammed pack with a lot of action, love. more of the guys that I have come to love so much. Thank you for written this series of action pack book.
So good....yasssss👏👏👏👏🙌⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️deserved more than 5 stars...
So finally Julien and Ari's story is out, and man was it good or was it good! Julien, Julien, Julien... A genius, a geek, a nerd and an alpha man all wrapped up in one package, man oh man oh man, where do I get one. I absolutely will go wherever I can acquire a Julien for myself. He was loyal, compassionate, protector, understanding, loveable and I could keep, going and going as this was a man all into his business even though he was not a fighter or mercenary or a soldier, he was holding his own specially when his heart was being threaten.... (hint: Miami and Shida!!!EPIC) Ari, well, a sweetheart, gentle, confident, intelligent, a genius and a geek in her own mind, she was the perfect one for Julien. She was beautiful inside and outside. Right now, even though Gage and Tayler were my top ones on the list, Julien and Ari has knocked out Dez and Larke out of the 2nd spot with a tight race behind Gage and Tayler. The difference is so insignificant that I could say that they are definitely sharing the number 1 spot. That said it was so sweet to have revisited a little bit with the couples we have read so far, Gage and Tayler and Dez and Larke while waiting on the others. I am so happy that the next couple would be Georgio and Mo. These two would be a riot since according to Julien, Georgio must be somewhat subhuman the way the man appears and disappear without any sound or warning. Dale and Roshida deserved everything that came at them, specially Roshida whom one can understand once you sample a little bit of Julien.... You will go bonkers, coucou, gaga and certified crazy... Ari knew exactly what she had in her hand. This was a great story and very believable and down to earth, and I can't wait for the next couple's standalone.... This deserved more than a 5 stars, definitely more than 5 stars...
Overall: Julien and Ari confront his past when their daughter, Thandie, is kidnapped.
What I enjoyed: - Gage shooting Julien with a dart at the end of Julien's date with Ari was hilarious. - Julien's generosity when it comes to others he thinks could use a chance is admirable. - The guys' brotherhood shined in this story with all the action. Each of them contributed more than their fair share to finding Thandie.
What I didn’t enjoy: - Why is this series out of chronological order? 😑 The intro to Team Alpha made sense once I got deeper into the story, but the timings do throw me off. - I feel like we got more about Gage's family in this story than in Gage's own book. - With how much was said about Thandie's tantrums and disobedience, she sounded terribly annoying. - Ari being so helpless for 80% of the story was grating. - Julien keeping secrets - from the Tribu to Shida - was so, so dumb. And the team not noticing what was happening to Larke and Ari, while there were multiple team doctors available? Also so, so dumb. 😒 - Mo and Ari's upbringing seems to be all over the place - Ari was a hacker, Mo had ballet, now Ari's a dentist, and Mo's an assassin, all before the age of 30. While I enjoy versatility in characters, this should be explained at a deeper level.
Favorite quotes: "Giorgio would kill air and water if he ever caught her [Mo] choking."
"You always know what I need." - Ari "Because I'm in love with you." - Julien
"'If you had the money, would you go?' He sent Mo a quick wink. 'The money for med school or for my mother's treatment?' Kelly asked. 'Both.' 'Yeah. Definitely.'"
Current ranking as book bfs: 1 Gio 2 Julien 3 Dez 4 Gage
Crazy Ex-girlfriend targets her ex-boyfriend and his family to avenge the love that he found with someone else when they were not really in a relationship and then after the fact because she discovered that his father that he never even knew about killed her father for what turned out to be because of her father’s betrayal and deception. Ari and Julien have such a deep love for each other. They would die for each other, kill for each other, live for each other, and not live without the other, but they were tested when their daughter was taken, even before that when he held secrets, but they were able to overcome that and come together. It was sad to see a glimpse of what Sydney and Joel go through with trying to have a baby when their friends just had theirs. I hope they have good news in the next book or the one after. I guess Monroe will never have a nursery if it is left up to Dez. Unless his brothers hijack the nursery, she will be rooming with her parents until she is maybe Thandie’s age. I can not wait to ready Giorgio and Mo’s story especially after reading the SPECIAL EPILOGUE, cliffhanger for real! I also can not wait to read Huang’s and Xara’s story to learn why he decided to let her believe that he is dead, especially what with Ayesha is going through.
This took me all night to read but I just couldn't put it away. Red eyed and happy, I finally hit the pillow at 3:45 thoroughly entertained and pleased with the outcome. Thank you Alex for giving us the backstory to one of my favourite couples who was introduced in Angels and Assassins 1 and 2. They always seemed so together and idyllic, practically singing from the same hymn sheet but it was not always so. We see Julian and Ari navigate their way through all sorts of traumatic experiences with their daughter, Thandie's kidnapping. To make the plot more complex the author cleverly goes back in time so we see these two protagonists as they meet for the first time. Throughout the novel, the use of the flashbacks at strategic times was most useful and relevant. It was also wonderful to catch up with the other members from the previous books. A thrilling read!! Loved it so much
FANTASTIQUE!! I absolutely love this series, and this one was another great one. Thank you for the flashback, mostly on Gage, I understand him even better, Damn, I can't believe the thing he did to Julien, all in the name to protect "little Ari".. I wish I could reach and strangle Rashida... Damn, I f++++ hate a woman who can't take no for an answer. Get some f**** pride!! And that agent, it know who, I could "smell" him miles away... Asshole!! The brotherhood, the bond between them make my heart "smiled" . Julien & Ari's love are so beautiful and strong, Ari was upset about Rashida, but she is very confident in her Judy's love for her, no insecurity... My kind of girl! And the children, and their interaction, get me each time. Thandie, is one special child! I could go on and on about this book, however, I'm leaving you with this: It a great read, full of all kind of emotions, intrigues and more!!
Loved this story more than I initially thought I would. Julian is The man, Northumberland amount of Alpha and Geek combination. Ari was the perfect heroine. I love it when the female heroine is strong without being obnoxious and feminine without being useless. I was nervous as to where the storyline was taking the reader, but Me Walker did an excellent job with the love story interspersed with the intrigue and mystery. The explanation of the radical underground aided greatly in moving the story. Now I must know more about one of the characters, Giorgio. He is so mysterious in most ways except his feelings for Moana. I hope we won't have to wait long for their story. Loved this entire series. I thought Gage was my favorite, but Julien is giving him a run.
While this book captured my attention and held it, there were times when I thought that some actions of the couple were just dumb and a bit immature! Ari came across as weak and naive on so much of her interactions with her husband and that FBI agent. If they had spent more time talking, I could look on this as more of a healthy relationship. But, their focus seems to be all about sex and who can better do the other in sex. Also, does anyone really leave their house full of guests to go to the bedroom to have sex? This happens as the ending for this book and I just did not get that part! I guess Julien saw this as his birthday present from Ari! Anyway, that intrigue surrounding Julien’s time with the Anarchist group and his Special Ops group dynamic is what makes this book and the series so enjoyable!
The dead still tell tells but how far does anarchy still drive the vision.
Julien has a dark past with an anarchist group that he thought he left behind. No full disclosure, but buried. The past that he kept to himself came and wrecked his world. This Tribu group are the enemy that he finally sees, but doesn’t recognize the old acquaintance isn’t over their shared moments of his past. Devastating events and stress doesn’t help the situation or relationship with his wife. He’s smart but things don’t reveal themselves so easily. His brotherhood jumps to action aiding in his quest for the truth and one’s causing the chaos. He finally learns the true reason for being hunted and he then becomes the hunter.
It was around a 2.75 for me but rounded up because I like the author overall. This plot isn’t my trope of choice namely because most of the book takes place after the couple gets together and some drama arises around their kid. I prefer the enemies to lovers forced into close confines until tension becomes unbearable trope with an age-appropriate couple. If I’d gotten the correct vibe from reading the synopsis, I’d not have bothered to read this one and I don’t think I’d have missed anything. Intimacy scenes were just ok. The chosen-family group of friends trope usually goes over well and same goes for this one. It helped to not make this book wordy or slow.
Love the back story on Julian and Ari. Thank you to the author for telling how the team was formed and their specialties. (Hacker, sharpshooter, navy seal, etc) Don't mess with my family, if you love mystery, suspense with some Hot Alpha Males and there lady loves this is the book for you. Julian and Ari's daughter is kidnapped. Who did this and why. The brotherhood and sisterhood is fantastic they always have each other's back. Cannot wait for Mo and Gio's story.
So Real! Amazing Series👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾 One for all and all for one!!
I loved Julian and Ari's story. In Angels and Assassins 3, the gang is back to assist Julian and Ari in the kidnapping. This story was so emotional and my feelings were all over the place. The storyline is amazing and well told. As they race to find and save the children they encounter, Crazy villains and shoot outs . Check out this book to see what happens when your past haunts you. K. Alex Walker is an awesome storyteller! On to the next one.💗😍
It is the only title for this book. I love it like the first two. Julien is awesome. He and Arihi together are dynamite. I was scared at first that Ari was about to die, but she made it. I also glad that you wrote that the kids didn't die. Julien's spidey senses was on point. Although he didn't like anyone looking at his wife, he sensed something off about the FBI agent. This book was so good. I am not going to give away anymore information about the book. You must read. On to the next one.
JULIEN & ARI are the youngest couple of the group but have proven that their love is strong and everlasting. They went through a lot and their love for each other grew stronger.
I initially thought this should have been book 1, but after getting into it I can see why it’s book 3. It put a lot together and also can see where it’s heading.
I enjoyed this book and am loving the series. Ms Walker again did her thing. (I can see that Joel’s story will be about he and Ayesha’s budding feelings for each other. )
I am loving reading this series, I am learning how the team was form and why they work so well together. I read the 4th book an stop because I wanted to know how these men met and boy oh boy did I find myself reading the books and enjoying every one of them. I got to say angels and Assassins is a crazy ride that keep getting better with each book. Yes there was some word mistakes but I was still able to keep the reading flowing. All I got say is Ms. Walker keep writing ,these books are good. On to the next book! Happy reading😉.
Oh wow this is a fantastic story! This one will have you on the edge of your seat with excitement along with characters that are amazing and their chemistry is sizzling hot. There is so much drama and emotions not to say again that the romance is absolutely hot. I really enjoyed this series ! I have devoured each story in this series and I know I will be reading each one of them again. There is plenty drama and romance that makes this series binge worthy. I am so excited and impatient to read the next book. I highly recommend this series.
Sooo good that it’s worth a second and third read!
This book was just amazing, from the beginning to the end I was hooked. The characters drew me in at first, then it was the intrigue, danger and suspense. The love they have for their women, each MC an ALPHA in his own right! It’s like that Brandy/Chris Brown song 🎶 Imma put it down, you gone fall in love 🎶 The brotherhood between them and their back story. I love K.A Walker style of writing, she keeps me entertained, enraptured, enthralled with her words, sometimes I promise I feel like I’m there with them. Great work!!!!
Didn't see Julian as being this BAD ___ from the other books. I mean come on, he's borderline genius. I'm my mind he was the sexy nerd type. Not after reading book 3. This was an excellent story held my interest all the way through. Learned even more about the all of the guys in the flashbacks. WOW! Now I am itching to get the scoop on Giorgio and Ari's twin Mo.
I am really enjoying this series. Getting to see the the background of Julian and Ari's relationship makes things clearer. These guys and their ladies care for each other every much. The taking of The daughter's class was crazy, I mean the whole class!!! I was always suspicious of that Agent Edwards but didn't see the relationship coming at all. Well done. Looking forward for the next story.
