Swept along by Kei's suggestion to give dating a try, Mako struggles to see where she really fits in. Meanwhile, Mitsuru has become distant, and in her attempts to get back the friendship they had, Mako discovers his hidden past. Mako, Kei, and Mitsuru now have to confront their own feelings, and they might get a little lost before they find their true answers...
This ending was so cute! I adore these characters and I’m very happy with who she ended up with 🥹 This was exactly the kind of cute and adorable manga series I was looking for. I marathoned all 3 volumes tonight because it was so cute, I had to know where it was going!
Впродовж серії мене сильно дратував Кей, тобто він був закоханий в Мако вже довгий час, але ніяких кроків не робив, і як побачив що в ній зацікавлений Амемура, то раптом він йому забороняє з нею зустрічатися🗿
Literally awwed at the ending! I love both main pairings, but am glad the couple I appreciated more ended up together. :)
And Mako girl, have consent before you surprise photograph someone (3 times!). Especially when that person had previous traumatic experience in the modeling industry. That part bothered me not gonna lie.

Oh, it's over already! Was that always the plan? I thought it would be longer, but I'm kind of glad they wrapped it up so briskly instead of having drawn-out drama and heartache.
If you aren't sure you like teen romance manga and want try one that's low angst and only the length of a regular novel, this is a good one to try. Solid art, likable characters, no squickiness.
I am alittle sad that this is the last volume. I feel this could have gone for a few more volumes.
I enjoyed the concept of the main characters being into photography. I hoped we could get to see more of Kei-chan. Maybe he falls for someone else while healing from Mako.
Well, they did grow up a little. Mako's straight forward honesty is nice. And the ending resolution felt surprisingly not forced. Forgettable, but all right!
I really enjoyed this final volume. I read it so fast. I read it in one sitting, probably in like 20-30 minutes, right after I finished my review of Volume 2. It was just such a cute, light, fun, easy read. Mako and Kei trial out dating, and I liked the results of the trial dating.
I really liked how relationships were presented in this manga. Both the friendships and the romance were healthy and really cute to see. I would definitely recommend this series if you're looking for an enjoyable, light romance manga.
"I wish I could live my life without making a single mistake. But I don't think that's possible. Even so, I have friends to lift me and people to watch over me."
This was definitely the best volume in the series and reminded me why Yoko Nogiri is one of my favorite mangaka!
I felt this was an amazing and greatly paced wrapup to this story and was very happy with how things unfolded/happened. It had a beautiful (and impactful) message of being yourself and loving yourself, which is a message I never tire of. I especially liked how that message showed in a very bright spot near the end. <3
Overall, this was a good series! It's not my favorite by Nogiri, but after reading the end, I could see myself picking it up again and reading it after a long day and wanting to unwind!
sobsob i'm so happy with the ending and there's not toxicity in this story YESH!!! Even though it's a love triangle, it ends greatly, and not painful sobsob.
What cute ending to a cute series…. I am really loving Yoko’s simple style… not too complicated and easy to read…. Perfect for those days when you want to read but don’t want to read at the same time.
Nose un poco go girl give us nothing todo.
Listen.... I thought this was a good series, like I thoroughly enjoyed reading it. The characters are all kind of fun too and have some thing going on. My only critique would be HOW SHORT it was. I feel like it would have helped a lot if this was a bit longer to further delve into the characters more. While they were able to give the leads their own "back story", I would've really preferred it if it was a bit longer and deeper. With that being said, maybe I am just used to reading mangas with like 100 chapters. Nonetheless, this was a good read. :)
Rating: 4 Stars ★★★★ (Maybe 4.5? Still deciding on a rating!) Love In Focus Vol. 3 completes the series following Mako, a photographer whose passion leads her to a new school and into a complicated love triangle! Vol. 3 really puts a focus on our 3 main characters and wrapping up all the loose threads of their backstories, mainly from Kei and Mitsuru. Mako is sort of thrust into a relationship with Kei and although he's doing it because he's in love with her, it also makes Mako learn more about what being in a relationship means. Also how it makes her think more about her relationship/dynamics with both Kei and Mitsuru. This volume essentially is about filling in the story with a lot of internal emotional/plot development to keep the reader in suspense as to who Mako will finally choose! Character development and plot are consistent parts of this series and I loved how it continued till the very end. There's a lot of growth to Mako and her emotional journey, same goes for Mitsuru confronting his past, and Kei learning to move on. No spoilers but, I loved how the series came full circle with the 'Bonus Short.' The art is beautifully done and one thing I especially noticed more in this last volume, are the clever artistic style choices to reflect certain panels as if they are seen through a camera lens.
From the first page, there was also a feeling of sadness because I knew this would be the last volume with these characters, but overall there was a sense of joy and anticipation for how the series would wrap up! This is a series I'll always have such positive memories of despite my critiques because its a light, but moving and character-driven series! Reflecting on this series from volume 1, I absolutely love the paneling. The way it uses blank space and background panels to highlight passage of time or reflection of emotion is beautifully done. I've never really seen a manga series presented this way. What I will always appreciate about this series is how its a soft, quiet kind of story unlike any other contemporary I've read before. Although it clearly uses typical romantic tropes, its done in a way I really enjoyed. I'll admit that because this last volume is so focused on our main cast, the side characters were a bit forgettable and mainly just there for the background. Also, I still have mixed feelings on Kei, but I liked how he changed throughout this last volume, though it felt a bit rushed. Love In Focus Vol. 3 is a satisfying conclusion to Mako's story and how her passion for photography led her on a journey of finding love.
To be completely honest, this series was a very short read and I wish it could've been longer and we could've seen more about the host house and the dynamics between the people that lived there. In my opinion, I think this was a good end to a series that was designed to be short. I appreciate how the series was as brief as it was, this plot could've seriously been drawled on for at least 5 more books but it was only for 3 and I think that's for the best as it normally gets boring after the 3rd book in the series.
As for the book specifically, I was totally caught off guard by the fake dating stuff with Kei, but I digress, it was for the plot and for Mako to recognize her feelings. I usually despise love triangles, but this was the one time I found it tolerable and actually enjoyed reading it. The plot is really simple and I appreciate how each character is not just a 2 dimensional person put there to fill a panel, they all played a part and I really enjoyed this specific cast of characters.
Overall I really liked this read! It was definitely nothing special, felt very cliche, but a cliche was definitely what I was looking for going into this series so I am very fulfilled.
Side note: the art is GORGEOUS. It's always a really nice bonus to read a manga where I enjoy the art style this much

It's hard for me to judge fairly a story about a love triangle, because most stories seem to absolutely DESTROY one person's character so that it makes sense for our main to end up with The One™. That....doesn't exactly happen here, but the ending feels incredibly rushed, as if the mangaka was told to wrap it up ahead of schedule (I don't doubt this, as there were only so many places this story could have gone). The manga is called "Love in Focus", but big chunks of the story feel like they aren't given any spotlight, always hovering just out of range. Backstory is practically non-existent, excepting the very quick explanation at the end. "Half in Focus" would have been a better fitting title.
It wasn't a waste of time to read, as the art is truly beautiful in some shots and as an innocent tale of high school romance, it succeeds on a very base level. But if you were looking for something of more substance, or better background of the trio involved, you will be disappointed.
I must admit that the ending felt bittersweet because at the same time a lot of heartwarming things happened, one of the things that I despise THE MOST in shoujo manga also happened. Which made me really hella mad.
Overall, this is a highly cliche and predictable manga with absolutely NOTHING new to add to the table, but if you're in for a quick and kinda fun read Love in Focus might be for you.
This whole manga was just really really cute. Love how everything wraps up. It was short and sweet and I really love Mako and Amemura, I really think they really do belong with each other. Though I am feeling sorry for Kei, he was pushing Mako into a relationship that she wasn’t even sure of so boo for him. But other than that, I love how this volume gave me butterflies. 💕
This was such a sweet, refreshing series. I love triangle without ridiculous drama or anyone getting nasty or mean. Just really sweet characters that are easy to like and connect with. Highly recommend this series. Read it free with Comixology Unlimited but I would say it's worth paying for too because I really like it and i would definitely reread it at some point.
