The paranormal? It’s all nonsense, but proving it might get him killed.

When he is called to investigate a Yeti attack in the French Alps, Tempest Michaels is certain it will just be another fool in a costume - He’s going to solve the case in five minutes and spend a few days skiing. Yay!

Guess again.

The mountain, the locals, and above all, the Yeti, have other plans in mind.

With the Dachshunds doing their best to avoid the cold and Big Ben distracted by the abundant snow bunnies on offer, Tempest is in for a tougher test than he expected.

Tempest Michaels is the guy you call when something goes bump in the night, but he doesn’t believe any of it is real! He’ll go all out to solve each case, but with his mother in tow, his dogs creating havoc and his friends chipping in as backup, you can expect mayhem to accompany the murder and mystery.

The stories in this series are cozy with no gore, sex or cussing and they move at a fast pace.

Let's start this off with an invitation to get some FREE books. No, you didn't read that wrong, we are talking about multiple free books. I love giving away free books because once people delve into the fast-paced mystery thrills I write, they go on to buy lots more.

All I need from you is an email address to send them to. Here's the link you need - https://mailchi.mp/fd47a6eb4ae5/patri...

When I wrote my first novel, Paranormal Nonsense, I was a Captain in the British Army. I would love to pretend that I had one of those careers that has to be redacted and in general denied by the government and that I have had to change my name and continually move about because I am still on the watch list in several countries. In truth though, I started out as a mechanic. Not like Jason Statham, sneaking about as a contract killer, more like one of those greasy gits that charge you a fortune and keep your car for a week when all you went in for was a squeaky door hinge.

At school, I was mostly disinterested in every subject except creative writing, for which, at age ten, I won my first award. However, calling it my first award suggests that there have been more, which there have not. Accolades may come but, in the meantime, I am having a ball writing mystery stories and crime thrillers and will claim to have more than a hundred books forming an unruly queue in my head as they clamor to get out.

Now retired from the military, I live in the south-east corner of England with a pair of lazy sausage dogs. Surrounded by rolling hills, brooding castles, and vineyards, I doubt I will ever leave, the beer is just too good.

The last of the 10-book series made available on Kindle Unlimited. Bonus points for being in France with the dogs. Fancy ski resort in the Alps with a ferocious Yeti

Tempest Michaels has always been clear about his views on the paranormal: nothing of the sort exists. But what is a paranormal investigator to do when he comes face-to-face with one of its very real creatures?

Jagjit has recommended Tempest’s services to the owner of the French Alpine hotel where he and his new wife, Alice, are honeymooning, as Hubert Caron’s daughter, Marie, was slaughtered by a Yeti. He and Big Ben, along with Bull and Dozer, make their way to Tignes to join the rest of the crew, expecting to find a man in a costume. What he finds, though … is a nine-foot-tall beast with two rows of teeth, giant tusks, enormous paws, and a hellacious roar he can hear all too well as he’s frantically snowmobiling away from it.

And to up the ante, just as the Yeti makes a special mid-blizzard appearance in front of the hotel, who should enter stage right but Vermont Wensley and his henchmen, Stefan and Arthur, certain that their special tools and spiritual skills will slay the supernatural animal.

As the creature claims two more lives and fear rises in the tiny mountain village, Tempest uses his Army training, common sense, and the cooperation of the local le chef de la police, Francois Delacroix, to not only ferret out the mystery of the Yeti, but uncover the truth of Marie Caron’s grisly death … and, after all is said and done, welcome Amanda for their first romantic rendezvous.

Paws of the Yeti is Steve Higgs’ most adventurous Blue Moon mystery so far … not only he does he solve his most difficult case to date, but he and Amanda finally match their starry-eyed timing. It’s a wonderful schuss down the slopes.

In this wonderful story we find ourseves off to the Alps in search of a Yeti.
Tempest has just finished a case of a man wearing a costume, and the guy is jumping out and terrifying children.
Tempest is called to the Alps, to solve the death of a hotel owners daughter, who died at the hands of a Yeti.
Things get interesting when he runs into the Yeti, and realizes it isn’t a person wearing a costume!!!
This was such a fun and hilarious read. I read it in one sitting as I was hooked to it.
This series is so much fun to read and so addictive as well!!!
Highly recommend reading!

Even though the setting is abroad, Tempest is joining his mate at his honeymoon in the Alps because the hotel owner was given his business card. Several of his other mates tag along, so the usual gang of unofficial sleuthing assistants is on hand to help solve an outbreak of murders, pinned on a mythical local abomination.

The only thing breaking the exotic mood for me was how nearly everyone manages to speak in English when there are crisis meetings with the local villagers, despite it being Switzerland I guess their centuries of helping tourists add up? It is lucky for us readers, certainly. That is a minor quibble when the mystery and the danger our heroes face is extreme. I don't want to give too much away, but it seems the supposed 'monster' is as much a victim of villains with no conscience as the dead locals. Mother Nature steps in and strands everyone at the top of the mountain, too.

I found this just as entertaining as any other of the Blue Moon Investigations I have read, including Tempest's ultimate reward! (wink wink)

"Paws of the Yeti" sees Tempest, his Dachshunds (Bull and Dozer), and Big Ben on the trail of the Yeti in the French Alps.
Two young women have been attacked, one has been disfigured and has had plastic surgery on her face, while the second was decapitated and can only be identified by her mother through skin blemishes.
It was at this point that I figured out a major piece of the plot.
When Tempest comes across the Yeti there is absolutely no question that it can be a man in a costume. Could this be the first time that he has come across a truly paranormal creature? Nah - the bottom line in the series is that the paranormal is pure bunkum.
Also, there are plenty of people around when the Yeti attacks yet no-one takes a snapshot of it (there's a first for everything!) And, why the hell, have they travelled up the mountain unarmed?
It's the sort of book that is easy to pick at but, like the rest of the series, it is very readable and fast read.
And Mr. Wriggly finally finds a home!

Another strange mystery occurs and it is up to Tempest Michael to take the case. This time he will be hunting the ever-elusive yeti. But what sort of case is there when you hunt a monster, why murder of course!

The first thing I liked about the book is the change of scenery. This one takes place at a mountain ski resort in the French Alps and the book has a different air about it due to the shift in scenery. Sometimes an author needs a moment to refresh the audience and this one was a welcome change of pace.

As with the change of scenery there is a larger cast of characters, though not unfamiliar ones. It is nice to see an expansion of secondary characters other than Big Ben.

Normally the fun of the book is figuring out the who-dun-it part. This story didn’t have that going for it very well. It was easy to see early in the book many different facts and the who-dun-it wasn’t a large surprise.

Overall, decent and a breath of fresh air for the series. I enjoyed it, and hope anyone who has gotten this far in the series likes it as well.

Another great story

Tempest Michael's is a fantastic character. As a matter of fact most everything about this book would lend it to a 5 star review except the stupid trash talk. I can deal with a little bit of it but it's so over the top it detracts from the story line at times. Steve Higgs turns most nondescript females in these stories into drooling bimbos who can do nothing but follow Big Ben to bed for no other reason than HE thinks he is a god and a gift to all women. A little of it I could see to help define part of Ben's character but it seems that is 95% of what Ben's life is.
Now I know Steve Higgs is a great story teller, builds excellent characters for the most part and has great story lines but really? Ease up on what you think Ben's machoness is all about. Keep on with the case and excellent story being told. All of the Tempest Michael's stories are a great read and worth getting into if you like or can get around the rubbish talk.

Tempest is called to the Alps, to solve the death of a hotel owners daughter, who died at the hands of a Yeti, by his friend Jagjit while he's on his honeymoon. Big Ben accompanies Tempest in the traveling and the hunt for the Yeti. Both Jagjit's and Hilary's wives join in on the process of catching the supposed Yeti and solving the murders in this snarky, fun, and enjoyable book.
I received this as an ARC for my honest review. Can be read as a stand-alone, but best if the series is read in the correct order.

Another excellent crazy mystery by Steve Higgs! Our paranormal investigator, Tempest Michaels, and his friends get into the funniest and sometimes scariest situations. It really keeps me reading and once I start, I just don't want to put it down. Tempest became a paranormal investigator quite by accident and firmly believes that every paranormal incident is really caused by, or acted out by, a human being. This Yeti thing really trips him up and he doesn't know what to think. Never fear, the mystery will be solved in the best possible way. I can't wait for the next book!

Paws of the Yeti, book 10 in the Blue Moon series, is definitely, imo, the best of a very entertaining series. I have come to care for all of the major characters, except perhaps Anthea. I am very glad to know there are already three more books in this set that I have yet to read. I highly recommend PotY and sincerely hope you enjoy them as much as I have. For the most part they can be read as stand-alones, but why deprive yourself of the entire treat? I'm off to find book 11, enjoy!

Paws of the Yeti by Steve Higgs is the 10th book in the Blue Moon Investigations series. Tempest Michaels is hired to investgate a Yeti attack in the French Alps where his friend Jayjit is spending his honeymoon. An entertaining quick mystery. I like Tempest's band of loyal friends who are always willing to lend a hand and I love that Tempest treats everyone fairly and acknowledges everyone's talents and skills. Bull and Dozer also manage to tag along on the trip. Another fun cozy mystery, although rather incredulous and more for the blokes.

Tempest Michaels, Paranormal Investigator extraordinaire, solves a case of a monster scaring children. The monster turns out to be a man wearing a costume. Now he's off to the Alps to solve the murder of a girl by a Yeti. But has he actually found that Yeti does exist?

A fun and enjoyable read that you won't want to put down. Steve Higgs' books are addictive.

Another LAUGH YOUR SOX OFF mystery with Tempest and the loveable sausage dogs, Bull and Dozer! Besides being the world's biggest skeptic regarding paranormal sightings, Tempest is also the guy who investigates and proves that the occurrences are engineered by person or persons soon to be known. Besides being a good mystery, the hilarity never ends even when things get dangerous. And this yeti is more than just a man in a costume!

Starting out as a Private Investigator which quickly turns into a Paranormal Investigator (big mistake in the phone book) Tempest spends his time now debunking the paranormal. So when called in to find the Yeti he is sure it’s a hoax. Is it? Will Tempest find out what is going on before too many people die? Don’t miss this thriller, one of the best of his books so far (I say that with each one). It’s well worth the read.

Tempest thought it was a guy in a suit...imagine his surprise to meet a huge animal with teeth that he can see are real, as it snaps at him! Funny title: How to Tranquilize a 1 Ton Carnivore AKA I like bruises. Suddenly Tempest has more help than he can handle; everyone is getting into the act. And now Jane is taking on cases. I don't know how this series can get much better; I'm sure Mr. Higgs will surprise me in some way. Recommended, especially if you like to laugh.

Looking for a series on Audible I found this one. I went through books 1 through 9 one right after the other. The stories are interesting and so far have not had repetitive plot lines, which is quite refreshing. The characters are interesting, some of the verbiage that is spewed from the protagonist’s mother is so real that it makes me roll my eyes, and sometimes absolutely laugh out loud. This kind of character development makes continuing on in a series worth the time.

Bleh!

Hey the crime and the solving of it was very imaginative and often amusing. But it was the crudeness, vulgarity, sexual innuendo, man whore etc etc that destroyed this book and authour for me. I really enjoyed the first book in series I read. But won’t be reading any more from this authour, this book has a lot of crude content that comes from the gutter or below.

Steve has done it again

Highly recommend, but you must read in order to get the full development of the characters. The whole series makes me want to visit SE England and explore. So much thought and planning went into the Yeti that you have to wonder at Steve's IQ. Give the series a try.

I like the Patricia Fisher books very much (even though they sometimes have sexist statements about women). I think that Steve Higgs has a good sense of humor. However, I've read a couple of the Blue Moon books and, although I like the stories in general, I really can't tolerate the crudeness of the main character, Tempest.

I won't be reading any more of the books.

Outstanding

I can't stop reading Mr. Higgs books. I go through 1 or 2 a day.. Sometimes reading all night. He indeed is a genius. So talented with his characters, especially Mr. Wiggles. I laugh out loud with this character. I have recommended this author to all my friends telling them to look for Mr. Wiggley's character. On to the next book. lindA oRRs, Utah

Murder on the slopes.

Is the murderer animal or human?

And why are Bull and Dozer having more fun than Tempest?

Will Tempest and Amanda ever get together?

Read it and find out.

Lots of intrigue and some murder.

As usual Tempest Michels has a case because of his friends letting the right man know he was a friend. He and Big Ben go to the ski resort to save the day.

Read and enjoy!

Criminy! It's a real Yeti!!!
This author has an incredible imagination and gift for telling amazing stories. Debunking is the name of the game for Tempest Michaels, but can THIS story be debunked? The ensuing investigation is gripping! Don't miss out on this fantastic adventure!

A great who dunnit!!

I would say that this murder mystery actually rivaled the writings of Sir Conan Doyle! As usual, Steve Higgs has written a humdinger of a mystery, packed with humor and lots of action. I admit I had trouble putting this one down!
