What the Enemy Tried: From Victim to Victor

Rate this book
It wasn’t until someone tried to expose one young woman that she gained the courage to tell her story. If nothing else, she understood throughout her pain that no one else had the right to tell her story, but her. Her story isn’t the picture-perfect fairy tale; it is the unique circumstances that made her who she is a survivor, to say the least! Throughout this book, you will read a series of situations that were meant to destroy her. Yet, she overcame every obstacle and defeated the enemy on every level. She is not perfect, nor is this book intended to make anyone feel less than. But it was written to show others that you are not defined by what happens to you—regardless of if it was inflicted upon you or self-inflicted. All in all, she aspires to restore hope to young individuals who feel trapped, defeated and completely hopeless. She wants her testimony to be a voice for every person who has been silenced, every heart that has been broken, and for every life that has been paralyzed by fear. The enemy’s job is to kill, steal and destroy us; it is our job to remind him of our heavenly Father and His promises. With God on our side, we cannot be defeated! We will not grow weary and, more importantly, we have the victory!

The reason most people give up is because they tend to look at how far they still have to go instead of how far they have came and from reading this book you came a long way and I’m glad you told your story and maybe this will inspire others to do the same

"What the Enemy Tried" by Trimechia M. Jones is a definite must read.Having gone through some much pain and disappointment, the author conveys how she never let it steal her life's purpose "even though the enemy tried it". The book shares her testmonies in hopes to free others from their trials by providing sections to help you reflect after each chapter. Every chapter is unique and everyone that will pick up this book is sure to gain a new outlook to their own test to turn them into testimonies!

Trimechia M. Jones is an awesome mentor and motivational speaker helping girls in the metro Detroit community see their worth and experience freedom by letting them know (and see) that no matter what the enemy throws their way they too can make it through.

As for me, after reading "What The Enemy Tried" self reflection was imperative because I related to some many of the stories. I admire her courage to tell her stories and be vulnerable to help others.

"What The Enemy Tried" is a great quick read that is sure to leave you inspired!

Trimechia writes from her experiences and what she learned but allows each reader to address their own struggles with the built in workbook. I truly enjoyed reading this book because it teaches EVERYONE (males and females, young and old) that their problems small or big can have lasting impacts on their life if not addressed and that your past does not have to define your future but can fuel it.

I recommend this book to anyone hurting or recovering, anyone mentoring youth, and youth with a guided read. I thank Trimechia for her selflessness and understanding that her story can help someone else.

Great read! A short read packed with raw, eye opening, uncut stories of the authors life and experiences during her journey. All walks of life can persue and self reflect with this powerful read! The Author has opened up in a way that is motivating and inspirational, for others to cast back on their lives and walk in their truth. The best takeaway is to note that you can write as well as, re-write your story. Stay encouraged!

The book was inspiring and honest. It's hard to hear what she went through as a child but amazing to see where that path lead her on her journey. I liked that there were areas in where i could write notes and thoughts I was feeling throughout the book. It definitely left me wanting more and I hope she puts out another book soon to let us know where her journey takes her.

I love this book. It's very much a testimonial of the authors life... But what I love most about it is how it invokes and attitude of gratitude. It gives you an opportunity of reflection and planning for your next step. Easy read, great content.

Life can have you believing that you are the only one going through your situation and the light at the end of the tunnel is non-existent.
