DelSheree Gladden was one of those shy, quiet kids who spent more time reading than talking. Literally. She didn't speak a single word for the first three months of preschool. Her fascination with reading led to many hours spent in the library and bookstores, and eventually to writing. She wrote her first novel when she was sixteen years old, but spent ten years rewriting it before having it published.

Native to New Mexico, DelSheree and her family spent several years in Colorado for college and work before moving back home to be near family. When not writing novels, you can find DelSheree reading, painting, sewing, and working with other authors.

DelSheree has several bestselling young adult series and has hit the USA Today Bestseller list twice as part of box sets. DelSheree also has contemporary romance, cozy mystery, and paranormal new adult series. Her writing is as varied as her reading interests.

Already number 4 and finally (yes!) we get to the part where Eliza's evil half-brother Simon gets into the game.

The story starts off with a (literal) bang as Eliza loses someone dear to her. Simon is back, with a vengeance, and the rest of the book Eliza is put under protective surveillance. By the police and by Baxter (will they finally admit their feelings??!!). In between Eliza juggles her classes, working at Saul's and Mina's bakery. She gets an opportunity to earn the tuition for a whole semester of culinary school – if she can sleuth a bit and save a little girl.

I must admit I did not see the twist Simon presents Eliza with coming. Overall he was a bit of an elusive baddie and he conveniently stayed out of sight the first 3 books :-)

The book was really enjoyable and hopefully this will not be the last book (or novella) about Eliza! I do still have some questions left..

Omg! (Possible spoilers)

I had hoped the firdt few chapters were a dream. A horrible nightmare. I have to admit this book hit some personal threads that made the pain more realistic than normal when I am completely immersed inside a story. But I was still riveted until the end. As I have been this entire series. There was so much going on that i felt it would never all fit into this one book. Yet at the same time I felt it went to fast. I love all the characters in these books and sincerely hope for another book in the future. What an amazing series. If this is the end at least it's a great one.

So much happened for Eliza, working for a mobster and hiding from Simon are just a couple things. This girl is most definitely a trouble magnet, along with being a tough chick she turns the men into cavemen around her. Everything gets wrapped up so this could be the final one, but I sense an opening for more. I received an early copy and wrote my unbiased review voluntarily.

This book was so good I was barely able to put it down to get some sleep! I finished in less than 24 hours.

Eliza finds herself in mega trouble this time as her crazy brother is seeking to destroy her all while she is "teaching" a mobster's daughter to cook. Interesting combination of events to be sure.

Loved it!

I can't believe it's over. This was such an emotional book! It kept me guessing and crying. Eliza goes through so much in this book.
