Prophecy. Men. What now? Prophecy found – Check Three sparks claimed – Check Nine to go – What the ever-loving Goddess? Luna here again. I finally found the prophecy book my mother left me. Now I just need to figure it all out. To make matter’s worse, more sparks are arriving. The train is now jumping tracks. My world is being up ended once again, and there is nothing I can do about it. That bitch. Goddess, please let me get out of this mess in one piece. *Warning this book is intended for 18+. It is a fast burn Reverse Harem series, with a cliffhanger. This book contains lots of M/M interactions, light BDSM, and other explicit sexual scenes some readers may find offensive.

So I read Triad Found (loved it) and was SUPER excited for Pentacle Bound—I love a larger harem, and I LOVE MM so I was definitely excited for this one, but I couldn’t help but find myself shaking my head about 20% through.
The male characters are becoming very much the same—they find their Goddess, are super excited, then really scared and nervous, then super jealous, then they have a little MM scene, and then they’re all good. Every single one is becoming super duper the same. Every character is into literally everyone in the house, and super into Luna. I liked it for the first three characters, but it’s becoming a little tedious as it goes on and the same.
Next. Even though I love MM, I’m struggling with how much there it, and how it is equally as important as the relationships with Luna. Had this been marketed as polyamory I’d be like “OH cool okay we stan all loves” but in a reverse harem I expect the harem to be focused, devoted, and invested in their MC, even if they’re also with each other. It just doesn’t really feel that way to me, and It almost seems like the majority of the emotional relationships are between the men. Before almost any of them are claimed by Luna, they’re already in love with one of the men in the house. The relationships she has with her harem feel second fiddle to the relationships they have with each other.
Lastly, I want Luna to get MAD! Everything is cool and she’s relaxed all the time. She’s super happy and the only emotion we got was around Ry and short-lived. I want her to get MAD AT SOMEONE. I want her to make someone CRY. I want her to SCREAM AT THE SKY.
More men, more sex, more HOT in this book. I definitely felt more connected with the characters in this book than the first, even with there being a total of 13 characters overall. Yummmm. Onto book #3!
I really did enjoy the first book of this series and I was excited to continue the series with this book. I had high hopes and hoped to see the great relationship growth and character development that I saw in book 1 with progression of the overall plot with the prophecy...however, I was let down and left unsatisfied. I still love the premise of the series of Luna fulfilling the prophecy set forth by her mother while claiming her 12 mates but things just seemed to kind of fall apart for me in this book. There were plenty of things I did like about this book. I love the larger harem and the polygamy involved. The steam was scorching hot in this book with plenty of MM. There were plenty of times that Luna gave excellent advice and counsel to her men but sometimes she would flip a switch and not seem as sympathetic towards certain men she has sparked with. Not as consistent as I would have liked to have seen.
Let’s start with the prophecy. This prophecy which is written in the typical sonnet style consisting of a maximum 3-6 words per line. It would take less time to read the prophecy in its entirety than it would to toast a slice of bread. She would read 12-16 lines at a time before stopping with the intent of “taking a break” and revisiting the prophecy the next day. She acts as if she just binged an entire action filled, emotionally invoking chapter of a book or the entire novel...girl seriously, you only read 30 words. 😐The prophecy that obviously plays a huge role in her life and all of her men should be their top priority yet they can’t even finish reading it. I just didn’t understand that whole thing so every time she wanted to stop, I was finding myself frustrated. Now that I have finished this book, I think the reason the author broke up the prophecy the way she did was for the reader. I think she was concerned about maybe too much foreshadowing in regards to the men and how they will be claimed but it just made it unbelievable and irritating to read.
Now there is Luna. I didn’t really connect with Luna in this book. I found her to be rather dramatic and embarrassingly childish at times. She storms off when an ex girlfriend shows up and cries herself to sleep despite the fact nothing happened and she already knew of this ex girlfriend. She kicks someone out of the house because she was called a b****. This whole situation is life changing for EVERY SINGLE PERSON in her life. Most of these men have been in long term committed relationships with each other without a female companion. So to have a woman who they barely know spark with them can be a huge shock and requires some adjusting. That being said, I understand the feelings and emotions some of them are showing which is normal. I just didn’t see her being quite as fair with all of them. I am not excusing the name calling, but I do think she went a little overboard with her reaction. Especially when she was so accepting and accommodating to Max when he had jealousy issues in book 1.
Then there is the storyline. It just didn’t flow quite as well as book 1. Transitioning from one scene to the next seemed to be disjointed and fragmented at times. Things seemed to be too convenient like the ready made bunker big enough for all of her men. Add some drama and some edge of the seat excitement, not make things too easy like that. The emotions the characters displayed would drastically change from one minute to the next. Some things just didn’t make sense like Luna’s dad apparently knowing what would happen to him in the future yet the Goddess did not? I just got the feeling that her father was more powerful and omniscient than the Goddess which was hard for me to believe with how the author conveyed this part of the story. The character development seemed to take more of a backseat in this book and focused more of the physical and sexual relationships...I love a good smutty book but the characters just seemed more shallow to me in this book compared to book 1. I felt like I lost the growth, connection, and development of Ry and Zu in this book.
While this seems like a rather damning review, I plan on giving this series another shot by reading the next book. There have been plenty of series I have read where 1 or 2 books just paled in comparison to the others so this may be the case here. Didn’t mean that I didn’t enjoy the overall series. So I’m gonna continue to the next book and hope that things take a turn for the better.
The more I keep reading these books, the more annoyed I get with all of the characters. All stories need to have highs and lows. All stories need to have good things happen so rather bad can be at least somewhat balanced. Here is how this series goes:
Man 1: I can’t be with you Luna....such and such is the problem Luna: I won’t force you, I’ll wait until you’re ready. Goddess: you can’t wait or you and the whole world will die, claim your men Story: something happens to make Luna run away crying Sex Luna: reads prophecy, meets new man, runs away crying, ‘this is all too much to handle!’ Goddess: you need to claim your men! Man 2: I can’t be with you Luna....such and such is the problem, I don’t want to hurt you. Luna: I won’t force you...he doesn’t want me!! Cry cry cry Story: something happens to make man run away crying. Goddess: hurry up and claim your men!! Luna: I’m not ready! Sex Luna: reads prophecy, meets new man, runs away crying, ‘this is all too much to handle!’ Someone/ everyone is jealous about something/everything Repeat above
That is the entire series of books so far. The only thing that happens that isn’t negative is the sex...and sometimes they cry during sex too! And the amount of time they spend being unsure of having sex or the time spent talking about whether or not to have sex is about 85% of the book. Dawson’s creek y’all.
The story is interesting but there more sex then story line just a heads up. My biggest thing is sparking only means one more man to add to the harem in which all the guys can add to theirs. Sex scenes are hot but a little annoyed that every guy even if they weren’t bi before is bi now and has to hook up with another one of Luna’s guys. I kinda just want one guy for her. I thought it was Dame but again it seems like the original three get a new guy added to the harem. Hard to get past that aspect of the story. Luna is very excepting but I kinda think it would be nice if she had just one guy that was in love with her and her alone and friends with the others.
Look i need SOME ONE to be a priority an a RH book.
DNF just under 50%, the issues I had in the first book EXPLODE in the 2nd. If you are reading this for smut alone this is your book, go forth and enjoy, because it remains incredibly sexy and mirrors the first book in that regard.
My issues with this are tied to the romance alone. I just don't like the harem men being just as attracted an in love with each other as our leading lady. "Love" and devotion in this book cheapens the meaning. I'm all for people lusting for each other but.....
For example, in the last book there was a soulmate bond between our first 3 guys, there was major jealousy from the men that they all loved each other. It's mainly worked out in the first book, however in this one one of the original men just randomly is like , wow i have loved this other dude this whole time and never said anything about it and hes going to fit into our lives just as well, AND NO ONE CARES. no jealously, not 'uhhh am i not special?" nothing. The book lost the thread for me, I need some form of nod that someone means more/less to everyone else.
In this regard this feels like a 'everyone loves everyone Polyamory/Polyandry book' its less a reverse harem since the harem all love each other just as much as the MC, and that's TOTALLY FINE if that is the kind of book you want. It just bothered me.
The final 'toss the book across the room' moment was when a "straight" guy comes into the harem, and before he even does anything with our leading lady one of the other harem men is like 'you sure you don't like dick?' and then proceeds to blow the dude off. feelings happen thereafter.
If you ever wondered what the characters in a book were eating at every meal, you're in for a treat. Every single meal, and there are a lot of them, are described in plenty of detail to sate your curiosity. Also, every time Luna drinks coffee, and its a lot of times, the author makes sure we know about it.
The over abundance of food and drink included in this book is only eclipsed by the amount of repetitive sex. Don't mistake me, I like steamy book but wooooww... there is a lot. I guess it makes sense that they're is a lot because she has to bond with so many men, and sex is the only way to do that, but very little progress is made to that end all things considered.
Theres some repetition and redundant statements and a ton of unnecessary exposition. If the food, drink, sex, repeats, and unneded exposition were removed we might be left with a few pages of plot.
I was pretty disappointed with this book really. It was way longer than it needed to be and not much progressed in the plot. The upside was there was some character information that was passed along and relationship growth but I dont think I will be reading the next book. If you like food and sex you may very well like this book more than I did. Happy reading.
I really got into this series… but then realized none of the rest of the series is on Audible. I think I’ll have to put this series on hold, because of that.
I really enjoyed the slutty lovey but need to save the universe trope, but given this audiobook was released in 2021, and the author doesn’t care to give updates, I shall choose to not care to finish the series but give an above average rating despite my disappointment in authors giving up on finishing mediums or updates and the like. (One of my biggest pet peeves)
One thing I really appreciate in this series so far is that there is tons of mm. And it's not just random mm thrown in but these guys are working on real relationships. What I am a little confused about is the fact that jealousy over sharing was such a big problem for the original three in the first book and now you hardly see those three guys together at all. In fact, each of those three guys has found new guys to occupy their time. I think having multiple partners in this situation is a given and I'm happy to see it, but not sure why is was such a big problem in book one but now they're all over it just like that. Doesn't feel genuine.
I know some people like to read why choose with lots of people involved but I'm finding that the guys are getting lost. I honestly don't remember what any of them look like and the only personality I sort of remember is Max. There has been lots - LOTS - of thoughts from Luna of spending time with each guy individually but none of that has happened so far.
One other thing that kind of bothers me is how uncomfortable Lucian has repeatedly said he is with claiming solo and he keeps getting pushed to do just that. He has his reasons and his feelings are valid. His consent here is just as important as Luna's and she's fine with having Everette there. I don't know why the separate claiming keeps getting pushed.
The story is okay overall. I was more interested in book one but I feel like it has slowed way down. Personally a lot of scenes felt unnecessary, like repeatedly describing dinners and movie nights. Considering Luna's mother has been quite clear on the urgency of their situation, they all seem very unhurried. I take that as drawing the story out needlessly and I keep getting bored. I'm going to give the next book a go but I'm struggling not to dnf the series.
I think it would also help if these first two books had a really good proofread. There are tons of errors. In one spot you have the plural form of tacos in a sentence like “He made taco’s tonight, are you sure you don’t want to at least try a bite?” and then later it's shown “Ok, what do we have; leftover Tacos?" So the first time it has an unnecessary apostrophe and the second time it's capitalized for no reason. Then and than have been mixed up as well as to and too. We have missing punctuation, especially missing question marks when questions are asked. These are just a few examples. It's really disruptive to the flow in my opinion.
Got to the 70% mark and threw in the towel. Luna, is an idiotic, manipulative, spoiled brat! She's basically telling her guys that she doesn't want them lonely and therefore have at each other when she can't be around. One instance had me seeing red where it seemed like she forced two of them to be intimate. They were having a hard time dealing with their attractions, and she went ahead and paved the way by telling them what she wanted to see, like a selfish b-word, and the reluctant one went ahead and did as she requested. I heard him loud and clear everytime he vocalized how he was unsure of how he felt about being with another man, but no... what Luna wants Luna gets!
Now, at the 70% mark she kicks a guy out for being angry at his "mate" and calling her EXACTLY what I wish I could write in this review. She threw a hissy fit, like a child, and dared said that Ashe was being childish over his anger and hurt... and I just want to slap the bratty Luna.
I had reservations from the first book, but decided to go ahead and try and make it through the series. No. I can't. I don't like Luna at all! She irritates me, the guys are getting on my nerves with giving in to her whims. It's TOXIC, their whole relationship is terrible. What ever happened to the first 3, who were so at odds about their jealousies and trying to make it work. None were happy when more guys showed up, and they aren't even really together any more. The more guys who show up, the more those 3 first ones have forgotten about each other and branched out to corrupting and giving in to their desires for the shiny new guys. Like? Ugh!? It's borderline disgusting how half of them only spark with her and the others just get it on with non-sparked, all because Luna says she can't be there for everyone, so go ahead and have a free for all, if it makes you happy, I don't care. It's just not right!
Don't even get me started on the prophecy that they have YET TO EVEN READ THE WHOLE THING! That should be priority number 1 but no, Luna wants everyone to get it on all the time, so the focus is always about smutty times. I'm just done.
I am done with this series.......I have read a good bit of reverse harem books this year and so far so good. I will say, this one was a bit too over the top for me. There were sex scenes in every chapter. Its getting a bit boring because the sex scenes, emotions and issues just seem to be on repeat with each male group she finds. The story line has taken a back seat to all the sexual relationships happening in this book. I keep forgetting what her purpose is at this point. All she has time for is being a sex mediator between the guys and getting laid as much as possible.
**UPDATE** I also wanted to add some more things I did not like: 1. All the men seemed to cry at the drop of a hat. I am all for men showing emotion but they were a bunch of whiners.
2. All the men seemed to loose themselves after meeting her. They would start out with their own unique personalities. However, the minute they bonded to her, they all turned into mindless drones. It was like a hive mentality. They all just lived to serve her and her needs and nothing else. I forgot who was who at times because they all just seemed to blur together. I believe that also aided in the book being so mindlessly boring.
3. Why did it feel like it was stipulation that they all sleep together in order to be in the relationship. The one shiftier, who wasnt gay, appeared to be pressured to be gay and sleep with one of the other males. I mean, he had major apprehensions about the sexual relationship, but she wanted it to happen to sate her fantasy, so he did it! I feel like he was forced in some aspects.
I loved this book maybe even more than the first one. The hot and steamy factor is through the roof and the author keeps amazing me with her never ending imagination. But that's not all, the author seriously gets into the story and whatever was hinted previously to be coming, is here already. The characters that we met in the previous book have nicely balanced out and found their optimal relationship dynamics, but then the rest of the crew shows up: Dane, Lucien, Everette, Lilith, Slade, Ty, Ashe and Zeph. And everything starts again. By now Luna is so overwhelmed that she is seriously struggling with her new reality and needs some time to process everything. The prophecy is incredibly interesting and beautifully written and I enjoyed that little treasure hunt with the group. Well, proverbial treasure hunt, as they all have to figure out how to proceed not actually find a treasure. And they are on the run because not everyone wants them to succeed. And did I mention that there is so much sex featured here and not without reason, it is a part of what is required for the prophecy, and it's so good... This is definitely becoming one of my favourite series and totally binge worthy as well as comfort read. I already started reading the next book as I am dying to see what happens next, and to enjoy more hot and steamy content, of course. The books only make sense when read in order. The reading order is: Triad Found (Claimed By The Goddess Book 1), Pentacle Bound (Claimed by the Goddess Book 2), and Elements Tamed (Claimed by the Goddess Book 3).
So this book isn’t that bad, I promise. The author has definitely made her life more difficult by giving herself 12 different men to write about with their own personalities and relationships, so I can respect her for that. It’s just that the plot that exists isn’t really going anywhere anytime fast. The books are mainly about the relationships, which would be fine if I was really into that sort of thing, but I’m not. This series is worth a try, but if you had mixed feelings after the first one, just know that the issues in that book still exist in this one. There is some progress made in the plot but this the book isn’t 400 pages because of that, it’s because of all the intergroup drama and sex scenes. I do appreciate the realism of the jealousy in the group but there also needs to be something else in the book to keep me going and it just isn’t there for me.
I LOVE THIS SERIES!!! I usually don't enjoy fast burn books but this one is really good!! I love all the m on m action, and I'm intrigued to see her claiming the rest of her men!! Especially Slade and his preference... I'm also loving all the emotional moments, and naughty bits (aka the banter but also the action) I'm also looking forward to seeing Luna growing into her full magical potential
At the end of book 1, Luna finally found the prophecy book that the Goddess has been telling her to find. Honestly I thought she was daft that she didn't investigate the humming earlier or mention it to anyone. I don't even know about magic but I was sure it had something to do with the book!
In this book, the Goddess actually appears to her in a vision and tells her to hurry up and claim all her guys. Still, she takes her own sweet time. By the end of the book, she has claimed the incubus, Ryzeth, the angel, Zuriel, and the kitsune shifter, Dane, but that's all. So she still has six men to claim -- and the six all show up in this book, so they're all present and available to be claimed, she just isn't doing it. The issue is the same one that Gabby faced in the Hemlock Academy series by Kelsey Soliz: Luna doesn't want to force anyone, wants to make sure that each man is comfortable and ready for the claiming, give them time to adjust to the new dynamic within the large harem, doesn't want to have sex just for the sake of having to claim them, wants to get to know them first before jumping into bed with them. And, like when I read Hemlock Academy, I wanted to yell: YOU DON'T HAVE THE LUXURY OF TIME HERE!!! There are bigger things at stake, just get on with it!!
Honestly, first it's the angel who is terrified that his special peen will be too much for her to take, so he's terrified about having sex with her. Then it's the kitsune shifter who is too cocky and put her off, so that she doesn't even want to kiss him good night. Then it's the fae and vampire who have been in a 300-year relationship with said vampire having jealousy issues over having to share his partner with someone new. Then it's one of the four elementals being an asshat because he also has jealousy issues because he has been with the others for 25 years, since they all sparked for each other when they were seven.
Fine, the jealousy issues are realistic for an RH, especially with 12 men in the harem. But there are so many things getting in the way of Luna just claiming them that it was kinda annoying. So much filler happens in between because we have to wait for people to get their heads on straight. A lot of the filler is sex, and to me, a book which is built around sex is boring. If I just wanted smut, I'd go read erotica. I read RH and romance because I want story and feelings.
And all the filler and sex made me feel that there was no urgency. There's no sense that time is running out, the prophecy is coming to fruition, we'd better get ready and have everything in place so that we're ready to roll when the time is right. No rushing. No concern. No jumping into action. Instead, what we get is reading bits and pieces of the prophecy at time because it gets too overwhelming: let's just stop after reading this portion, give us time to digest it, it's a lot to take in. Stick our heads in the sand or cover our ears and go, "Lalalalala," for awhile, don't look at the book for a few days (or weeks, who knows), and meanwhile just have plenty of sex to take our minds off the scary prophecy that we don't want to think about. I was ROLLING MY EYES.
There are a few bits of Luna learning new magic because each time she claims a new mate, she gains a new power from him. But these are very few and far between, especially since she only claims three guys in this book. She keeps getting freaked out whenever she sparks with someone new, even though she knows she'll eventually have 12 men. She freaked out so much that when she sparked with Ty, one of the elementals, while shaking hands, she literally pulled her hand away from his and ran away! Okay, so it's overwhelming, but it was a really childish way of dealing with things. More sticking head in the sand.
Luna's insistence on trying to spend equal time with all of the men and not letting any of them feel left out felt reminiscent of Their Vampire Queen by Joely Sue Burkhart. But, I still felt that she spent more time with some compared to others. In this book, River seems relegated to the background, as she hardly spends any time with him except together with the angel Zuriel. Even flirty and horny Liam doesn't get much time with her; he's mostly busy cooking and bringing her coffee in the mornings. After she claims the incubus Ryzeth, they hardly have any one-on-one time again. She spends the most time with Dane because he's often cuddled up to her in fox form, comforting her when she has one of her freak-out episodes or is upset about something. She doesn't even have much time with the fae-vampire pair Everette and Lucien, mostly because they are a pair so they tend to be on their own. The four elementals come into the picture during the second half of the book and she spends no time with them because one, she's too busy with the other guys, and two, one of them is a douchebag so she kicks him out and then spends a whole day crying and not talking to anyone or eating anything. So I'm not really feeling the development of relationships here, despite the author slowing down the claimings to supposedly allow relationships to develop.
With nothing much happening in this book to advance the plot, this book didn't contribute much to the story arc except to finally bring all 12 mates together, with only half of them claimed by the end of the book. Two stars for a book that's full of sex but no other action.
In a word, I’m OBSESSED. This series has my heart in an literal iron fist and simply won’t let go.
I’m so attached to each of the guys and what they bring to the harem. Part of me wishes we hadn’t met all 12 men at this point in book 2 but I also understand that they need the time to cultivate a relationship; it probably would have felt too rushed and lacking chemistry if we were introduced to several way later in the series. It gives us the needed time to process their personalities and for them to develop something with Luna over time. I do like how it’s not all insta-love with them, that’s extremely refreshing. I digress.
The plot is slightly slow-going but it’s still got me intrigued. Meanwhile, the building of the relationships between Luna and her 12 men is keeping me completely consumed and on the edge of my seat. I just about fucking LOST IT when Lilith showed up. Ugh that sinful bitch and ofcourse she had to go and be the drama queen that she is and call Dane freaking out, then BOOM cliffhanger. Get fucked bitch. Don’t care much for her after what she did to Luna but we will see what the fuck she needs now.
On another note… Rozie has blessed us with some of the most wonderful and creative smut scenes I’ve had the pleasure of experience during my RH journey thus far; I kinda love how frequent the sex is as well (I RARELY say this), simply because it’s written so well. The mixture of people involved is quite dynamic and I love how fluid most of them are towards each other. I’m practically drooling thinking about who else we will get the pleasure of finding together naked. DELICIOUS.
One thing that I noticed though, is that each River, Max, and Liam have found another “lover” so to speak. River has Zu, Max has Dane, and Liam has Ry. The original 3 lovers barely spend time with each other anymore I feel and it’s upsetting me; like when Max was grieving, River and Max were sideline supportive but Dane was the center of his world. It struck weird since Max was so consumed with the other guys in book 1 but we don’t even get any intimacy between them anymore. Idk maybe Rozie is giving us time to adjust to them having other lovers but I still want to feel like the relationships from book 1 stay present in the writing. I’ll see how it goes in book three and check back on that one.
Anyways, It’s safe to say this series is an incredibly fun ride so far and I’m beyond intrigued in terms of what will happen in Elements Tamed. Give me all the feels, sexy times, and angst. Im 10000% living and breathing for this presently.
This book literally picks right up where book #1 leaves off, so you'll definitely want to read it first. The story has gotten more interesting as the series continues, as well as hotter. That's one thing it doesn't lack at all, it has the ability to get you all hot and bothered and make you need extra batteries (◠‿◕)
Sadly, the thing it also continues to lack is poor editing. The author still seems to jump around a lot from scene to scene with no consistency or focus. I still think it's lacking in real details too. Even with it being a pretty long book, it doesn't have a lot of those little things that make the storyline truly feel compelling or complete. You still feel like your missing a lot of parts. Like this council member that wants Luna dead.. Who is he exactly? How did he even learn about Luna or her whereabouts if they kept her arrival a secret? Why is he set against the magic being released? What does he gain from it not releasing or what does he lose it it's released? And that's just him, this is a reoccurring problem throughout the book for multiple things. The author doesn't follow through with building the suspense in the plot, she kinda throws out a hint of a twist in the storyline, but doesn't followup afterwards.
I'm not trying to be all negative or dis the authors hard work, but I also want to write honestly what I thought of the book. It really does have the potential to be amazing with a little work.
I loved the first installment of this series very much. This is no exception. I must say that the grammatical errors are still there but not as prevalent as they were in the first book. If you can get past that then this is a really good RH PNR series. I personally think that more than 5 guys is hard to keep up with even if there is m/m, m/f, and m/f/m scenes. Which there are a lot of them. If you like more story and less sex this may not be for you. If you like menage or RH at a maximum of 5 or so guys this is not for you. At the end of this series there will be 12 men and one woman. So keep that in mind if you feel you can't keep up. I normally get bored after 5 and most of the time the guys are exactly the same after that number without much story to them. I think the author does a great job of making each man interesting and unique from each other. They work well with the storylines. The only reason I won't give this book 5 stars is that I think it could be better with a bit of proofreading. It managed to take me out of my comfort zone of 5 guys and kept my interest without sacrificing the plot.
While emotions are good in books all of these men crying every chapter and the way they are overly emotional is a bit weird for me. Aren't they supposed to be in their 20s?..yet sometimes I feel like I'm reading a high school drama about a bunch of kids. They barely seem capable of handling anything and I'm hoping there will be more maturity in the next book but I doubt it. Also liliths 180....soo pointless...I can't even with that...😒 also it's nice that there's m\m but sometimes it feels like I'm reading BL and there happens to be a girl squished into the middle of all these separate guy relationships within the relationship. Hopefully Luna gets some more lovin on. There's the promise of bdsm later on with slade soooo yum 😜 that's something to look forward to.
One of the main plot points of the first book was one of the guys' jealousy issues. That all goes out the window in this book. There seems to be almost no jealousy at all, and to top it all off the one straight guy is suddenly not straight? In the first book, we are lead to believe that the first three guys are super in love with each other but, now we see them pairing off with others outside of the triad. I know that 12 men is a lot for one girl to have in her harem and pairing them off with others as additional love interests helps keep everyone happy, I can't help but feel like having them paired to begin with was just superfluous. It's not like any of the guys that were together are keeping to their original groupings.
I'm not entirely sure there's really a plot here. At this point, I'm honestly just reading it for the hot m/m scenes and that's it.
This review is for the whole series, it is now complete.
First, lets talk about the story line. It was good, a paranormal "find the magic" trope, where the female main character is not aware she is supernatural until she meets the first of her men. After she has come to terms with being supernatural, she has to save the world, with the help of her fated mates and some friends. The story line is good, the characters develop deeply enough that you know what to expect from each person in the harem. Its a large harem, but the reader knows how she connects to each guy, and their relationships make sense.
Now, lets talk about the hot hot hot relationship scenes. WHEW! With so many guys, there are a lot of them! In all configurations, so expect many MM scenes, some with, some without the FMC. The guys develop relationships with each other, romantic and familial, outside of the scope of the female, which made this book so nicely tied up into its happy ending.
The overall storyline was okay, I do like the idea of predestined “mates” that spark... but twelve? Now I have seen larger harems, one had eleven, so I know it can be done, but I just don’t think it flowed well. There were several parts that I were extremely hard to follow who was talking to who, and a few parts that I think the author even fumbled a bit keeping track. I just felt like with so many some of the guys were forgotten. Overall, it’s a good little read but there was room for improvement. I’ll still read the next one.
Luna is finally aware of what the prophecy says, and she must work out logistics on the how and when. After all she not only had to deal with her original men, but she keeps adding more and more. She is trying to deal with the stress from getting to know and claim these hot as sin guys, all the while learning to use the magic that she didn’t know she had until a few months ago. So mayhem ensues, but not without tons of smexy times. 😉😉 that cliffhanger though is not nice....
DNF 49% I tried, but had to stop from all the fucking drama. Everyone was far too sensitive and insecure. And don't get me started on all the fucking crying....ugh!!! I loved the storyline but I need my characters to be confident. Great characters that are unsure of themselves are a turn off. Luna was a sook, straight up. Stand up for what you want ,instead of running to your room to cry your eyes out...jeez!! Too much heart to hearts for my liking. Shame really. I want to know what happens, but can't go on. My head hurts. The sex was super hot though.
So I think I would call this book a fast burn in the steamy heated kind of sorts but a slow burn in regards to the story line. It’s not a bad thing, for Pete’s sake Luna does need to get to know her TWELVE sparks and claim them. I love each of the characters and getting to learn about them just like the MC. Witches, angels, shifters, elementals and even a sexy incubus who I think might be my favorite ❤️ and don’t forget the Goddess trying to keep it all straight - what more can you want?!
Good follow-up. We meet the rest of the guys. Only thing that bugged me was that the original three now have new partners that they haven't sparked with and don't seem to be with each other anymore. Not really sure why the change .... But I did like meeting the other guys and look forward to more of their relationship development. We do get a cure fox and a dog... So that is fun.
