Easter Cookie

Rate this book
Sinful weekends in Vegas have never been this fun.

Natalie

Thinking outside the box has gotten my business to the top. Few companies can put together an event with the jaw-dropping quality I deliver. I'll be damned if I let Mr. Stephen Know-it-All Clark steal this potential client from me. We might have this 'frenemies with benefits' thing going, but I'll outbid his proposal and kick his perfect behind without breaking my stride.

Or my designer stilettos.

All I've got to do is not get distracted by his rippling six-pack.

That should be easy.

Right?

Yeah, right.

Steve

Getting the Sexy & Sinful Spa & Resort account is the difference between expanding or filing for bankruptcy. My partner has just visited the resort. She made personal connections with the general manager and brought back invaluable suggestions. We've put together the perfect proposal and a killer presentation. What could go wrong?

Famous last words.

All I've got to do is not get distracted by Ms. Natalie Todeschini. Too bad her curves have been my downfall since high school.

Too darn distracting.

That should be easy.

Right?

Yeah, right.

What if what happens in Vegas doesn't stay there?

Download today the first installment in this delicious new series and find out if Natalie and Steve survive Easter weekend in Sin City.

Read for Smutathon round 5- 2020 challenge!

Square- Enemies to Lovers romance.

This was the first read to kick off my second ever attempt at Smutathon (and the shortest read on my TBR) which I finished in half an hour. What I can say about Easter Cookie is it is steamy, sexy and daring. Telling myself now after reading this one... prefer my romances to have some substance to them (ie- characters have interesting backstories) Not much happened other than the two main characters Natalie and Stephen travel to Las Vegas and trying to be business professionals but that getting thrown out the window on arrival. A dialogue-driven read. This wasn't for me sadly!

This serial series starts with Easter Cookie (which is currently free)
Where we meet Natalie and Stephen.
Both are successful
They have the same careers
They have the same drive
They share a history
They share a little something extra
They are competitors in and out of the boardroom

Each release so far has been about 50 pages and despite each release being so short -
I was engaged in the story line.
I felt a connection to the characters.
I wanted more.

Natalie is weary of any form of commitment. Having been burned by her bestie and the boy she thought was her boyfriend in high school she has become a bit of a commitment-phobe when it comes to long term commitments. Frenemies with benefits though is a definite okay in her book. Her character is spunky and takes no prisoners. She is a bit clumsy but not in her ever-present stilettos.
Every woman needs her armor.

Stephen is laid back. I liked how he admitted the woman had him in knots every time she was within breathing distance. He is patient and knows his persistence will pay off. Or he hopes it does.

Easy to follow story line with solid characters that will engage and delight.

This is a short story that introduces us to Natalie and Stephen. There will be more short stories of them in the future which I can’t wait to read. It has to be easy in some aspects and hard in others with Natalie and Stephen being friends since school. Funny that they work in the same industry but are competitors. There is more between them than just competitors. You will find their relationship very interesting. I encourage you to read the book. I voluntarily read an Advanced Reader’s Copy of this book given to me by Booksprout.

I enjoyed this novella. It is just the start of this series, so expect to be left wanting more. I liked Natalie and Steve. It was easy to feel their attraction and sparks really flew between them. The story was fun and the book is short but it held my attention well. I'm looking forward to the next book. This is my truthful, voluntary review.

Not So Funny

I have the book a low rating because the description does not mention it ends in a cliffhanger!!!! I HATE CLIFFHANGERS!!!
Natalie and Steve are former high school sweethearts. I have more empathy for Steve's character because he is honest about his current feelings for Natalie. In the other hand Natalie is in denial about her feelings.

Good funny steamy romance

I gave this book a 4 stars.
I am going to rate this book as a whole since I have read 3 out of the 4 installments the last part is releasing in November 2020.
This is the 1 book in a 4 installment story. They are short books, that end on a cliffhanger, you have to read all of them in order to understand the story. This is my first book I read by Liz Gavin and I did enjoy them.
Steve and Natalie were friends back in high school and they liked each other. He was the shyer nerd type and she was popular cool girl. They always hung out together, bestfriends, they were 3 of them Bella was her best friend until senior promo happened- it all changed that night!
Secrets, misunderstandings, misinterpretation, betrayal, broken hearts. The next installments will take us through their rollercoaster of a relationship, rebuild trust , company's they've built, friendships, rivalries in same industries, ex's return, their chemistry is undeniable steamy HOT sex they just can't fight it.. They have both matured into strong alpha, fiesty firecracker, independent people that know what they want, and will fight for it. This is also a comedy romance. Some funny scenes...LOL.
I did enjoy the story as overall ( except of course the ending n/a yet) I'm just not a huge fan of installment storytelling. I wish this was just one bigger novel.

i read this book as part of an arc program. This is the first book in a new series called A Year In Love. In this book, Natalie and Stephen grew up together and now run competing marketing companies. Natalie and Stephen are both in Las Vegas to try and get the Sexy & Sinful Spa & Resort account. Stephen was a nerd in high school, but he has buffed up and shed that image. Stephen and Natalie have a love/ hate relationship, they hook up when they cross paths while away at business. After they both present their ideas to the resort, they are free until the job is awarded and they meet up. Things take a bit of a turn when word comes about the job. I liked this quick read, i thought Natalie and Stephen cared about each other, but i got the feeling Natalie wanted things to stay the way they were, while Stephen wanted more. I look forward to reading more of their story.

Steve has been in her life since high school. But a falling out left them not friends, but his work out regime and some explosive chemistry at least keeps them pawing at each other.

Natalie is competitive even with her lover/nemesis/competitor. They have rival event businesses and this new spa is a huge deal for both of them but will it keep them platonic or worse...

Book 1 of this short story series was a great quick read, I'm left wanting more. I have so many questions and hopefully it won't take all year to catch some answers.

I'm curious especially about their falling out and if maybe they'll consider merging their businesses together to really kick butt.

Easter cookie was a win for me. Hopefully I can be patient while I wait for each installment.

★ Will Cookie crumble? ★

—>>> Review Rating: 3.5 out of 5 stars - Stephen "Sexy Abs" Clark and Natalie “Cookie” Todeschini are event-planner rivals who leave the competition behind closed doors during their secret trysts to let off steam. Natalie is just not the commitment type, and Stephen has been in love since he was a geek in high school crushing hard on her. Out of the two, Natalie’s company Stiletto is definitely doing better, and Steve’s is in a slump, but nabbing the contract for an upcoming on Easter weekend in Vegas can be the big break both his company C& P Event Management and Stiletto is waiting for. The winning bid will open up further business opportunities, so a lot is riding on this. Especially when they find out the terms of the winning bid.

This dual POV was a cute prequel to the Steamy Sensations Holiday Shorts.

This was a good beginning to a new mini series that shows promise. Natalie and Steve grew up together but had a falling out when they were still young. It seems both of them have different perceptions of what happened but they are askew.
Years later they are both still in love but there are so many things unknown and unsaid.
Now with their companies both being chosen to work together on the same project they’ll have to come to some sort of compromise.
Pride and fears will have to be set aside in order to move beyond their current set up.
I like the characters well enough but I didn’t quite connect with them. I’m interested in seeing how the story and characters develop. It’s highly possible that I will end up becoming more invested in their story the further into the series I get.

Easter Cookie by Liz Gavin is a the hilariously funny first book in the A Year of Love Series. This book is about two childhood school friends Stephen Clark and Natalie Todeschini who have a very hot friends with benefits relationship. This book is a delightful contemporary love story between two very stubborn people who refuse to acknowledge their true feelings about one another to each other. This book is a short, fast, and humorous read that will make you giggle at the absurdity of the things that happen to this couple on the way to finding their happy ever after. This is one funny contemporary romance you do not want to miss.

Take a Chance.
Easter Cookie is a novella which introduces the readers to Natalie and Steve who were in high school together are are now in professional competition as event planners. Only one problem...they can’t seem to keep their hands and other body parts off and out of each other. What are they to do?
These five chapters gives you a taste of their year long adventure that the author promises to be funny and romantic. Fingers crossed!!!
I am leaving this review for your consideration. Peace.

I don't normally read romantic comedies, they often come across too sweet and naïve for me. But Liz Gavin has created a new series, "A Year in Love", with this being the first book. She's given us Stephen Clark and Natalie Todeschini who grew up as childhood friends and then became friends with benefits as they got older. A storyline about two very stubborn, hard-headed people who refuse to acknowledge there is more between them than friendship and sexual chemistry. Filled with a humor that will give you small chuckles to full blown belly laughs, this could be a series I'll follow along with.

This was a fun introduction to Natalie and Steve. I knew it was going to be short, but it’s an even faster read than I was expecting. I’m not quite sure what theme to class their story as. Second chance? There’re some elements of that. Friends to lovers? Enemies to lovers? Frenemies to lovers might be more accurate. Natalie and Steve are rivals with passionate feelings for one another. I’m very interested in seeing where this rivalry is about to take them.

3.7 for me, the blurb did had me intrigued but as I started to read I just couldn’t get into the book. It’s not a full length so I continued to read and give it a shot. Natalie and Steve give us a quick taste of their personalities as individuals as well as when they’re together. Towards the end I felt the storyline pick up a bit and can see things becoming more interesting.

No. Just N.O.

What in the world?! We get all hot and bothered over the steamy romance between Nat (Cookie) and Steve only to have the book end on a cliffhanger?! Just so we'll purchase another book by the author....without the blurb revealing that very important information?! No. Just N.O.

This short story is quite interesting. Cookie is sure of herself strong woman, she is use to get all she want. Steve despite being businessman in front of her became “little geek in love with popular girl”. I can’t wait to hear more about them in next book.

Non-friends 3 ½ stars - I read Easter Cookie, free as of 06/02/2019, before reading Cookie Wars. It is entertaining and funny with a short steamy sex scene. Steve and Nat’s characters are endearing. What could have led them to being non-friends?

Event planning

Steve needs this project to keep his company afloat. Stiletto needs this project to go international. They both want each other. You have to read the second story to see what happens.
