Newly divorced Polly Morgan is feeling jaded. She hopes that extra time in the oceanside town of Indigo Bay before her friend’s wedding will help set herself straight again. However, she doesn’t expect to have to save the entire event alongside the man she measures all kisses against—her first love, Nick Wylder.
Nick hasn’t seen Polly in almost two decades, but that doesn’t mean he’s stopped thinking about her. He’s pretty sure she feels the power of their rekindled love too, and he’s ready to make a move. To his Texas ranch, to her home in Canada—anywhere as long as she’s there.
But what will he do when his fast moves send Polly running? Can these two exes overcome their past and claim their second chance at love?

Sweet Troublemaker by Jean Oram is part of the Indigo Bay Second Chance Romances. It is a sweet, fun loving second chance romance that had me cheering for Nick & Polly from the first chapter.
Nick has a huge cowboy heart. He loves his family 100%, so when he was fired off his family’s ranch Nick found himself a little lost. A bachelor by choice Nick knew there was only one woman who could measure up in his eyes. Polly Morgan.
Polly confidence is shaken as a newly divorced woman, under the persistence of a well-loved friend Polly is about to attend a wedding where she left her heart many years ago. Often wondering what became of Nick Wylder, Polly Morgan sets off on her adventure to her past.
There is not one thing I don’t adore about Nick and Polly. I enjoyed their witty banter, their sparks, their love of family, but most of all their chemistry. Nick & Polly are taking off on an adventure in Wedding Planning of all things. As in most relationships both must give a little. Polly is shocked and unsure of Nicks true feelings. Nick would follow Polly to the ends of the earth. Can these two agree on the most important thing, love?
The supporting characters added so much to Nick and Polly’s story. I will say there is a part with Nick and his Uncle Roy that caused me to have a moment in the beginning, but Ms. Oram smoothed that out nicely. The Wylder boys are an interesting lot. I can’t wait to see what author Jean Oram has in-store for them in the next book in the New Series coming soon.
Sweet Troublemaker is a wonderfully well written sweet romance with memorable characters, a plot that is packed full of family heart, tenderness, hot hunky cowboys and the women who love them. If you enjoyed this first book in the Indigo Bay Second Chance Romances please check out the following books in this series.
Polly has had her confidence shattered by a bad marriage and believes love isn't for her. Nick has always compared every woman to Polly and, in his mind, they've all come up short. Now, Fate has brought these 2 together after 20 years and the sparks fly. They are perfect for each other--if only Nick can get Polly to see that.
If you enjoy well-written sweet romances with likable characters, an engaging plot, humor, and delightful banter, this is the book for you. If you like swoon-worthy cowboys, this book and series are for you. If you like stories where family is important, this book and series are for you. I could go on but the point is: read this book!
Nick is selfish, drifting along from ranch to ranch.
Polly Morgan is recently divorced. Yet, Nick makes her do a public declaration and he barely does the same while she has to make this long speech before someone else’s wedding.
She also has to be the one to say she’d move first, while he has no permanent base.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
This is my first visit to Indigo Bay, but it won’t be my last. I love a good second chance romance and this story was perfect. I loved Polly and Nick and the minute they saw each other it’s like no time had passed since the last time they saw each other, which had been 20 years. Polly did have some reservations and wasn’t sure if she was ready for another chance with Nick but as they spent time together before a family event for Nick, they saw each other and learned more about who they were as adults. It was nice to see them working together to ‘save the day’ for Uncle Roy and I also enjoyed Ralph, he was such a cute part to this story. I appreciated that Nick made sure that Polly was part of the decision making when it came time to decide where they were going next. Great story and I’ll be checking out the other books in this series.
Sweet Troublemaker is the first in a New Indigo Bay series. It is a delightful stand-alone but some characters have appeared in other Indigo Bay books, including Polly.
Polly and Nick dated twenty years ago when they were teenagers but they went their separate ways. They never forgot each other and a friends wedding offers them a second chance to make their relationship work. If only it was that easy… but unfortunately twenty years of baggage gets in the way.
This is a well written romance with some fabulous characters and a great second chance storyline. It’s always a joy to visit Indigo bay and this is no exception. I really enjoyed this book and definitely recommend it to all romance fans.
Polly is reluctantly off for an adventure. She hasn’t been back to Indigo Bay since she was a teenager. After a terrible divorce, she’s ready to move on. Nick works on his uncle’s ranch but is heading to the beach for a family wedding. Uncle Roy has had enough of Nick’s pranks, it’s time for him to move along and find something to settle him. They have to team up to put Uncle Roy’s wedding together after the wedding coordinator bails. Can they pull it off without succumbing to their attraction?
I received this book as an ARC reader for my unbiased review.
A gentle love story that started as a great friendship twenty years ago. Polly thought Nick was fun and always felt comfortable and safe around him. Fast forward to the present when they meet up again and find out that the link between them is still there and still strong.
Polly gets roped into "saving" Nick's uncle's wedding when the wedding planner quits suddenly within a week of the wedding. Unfortunately, not much planning had been done. Polly's charity event planning skills help save the day, and working with Nick makes them realize how they feel about each other.
I loved the determination of the characters and the consideration they had for each other. The author shared a realistic love story with bumps and all. It was lovely and left me with warm feelings. Highly recommended for all ages. Wish more people were like these main characters!
This is a sweet second chance romance. I loved hearing about Polly and Nick when they were teenagers and first fell in love. They sure seemed to have a great time together. Nick brought the adventuresome out in Polly. Twenty years later the two meet again in Indigo Bay for Nick’s uncle’s wedding. I just love a cowboy and Nick sure sounds yummy. I feel bad about Polly’s first marriage, especially since she is so gun shy about men now. The two must move past issues they both have to find a future together. I encourage you to read the book. I voluntarily read an Advanced Reader’s Copy of this book.
This is a sweet, clean second chance romance about Nick and Polly reconnecting after about twenty years. Polly’s ex finally signed the divorce papers and she’s ready for a new start. Nick has just been fired from his uncle’s ranch, so he’s looking for a new start too. When they team up in Indigo Bay to plan his Uncle Roy’s marriage to Sophia, will this bring them closer? I loved what happened before the wedding ceremony and then, what happened at the reception. I hope there will be more books about the Wylder clan.
I really wanted to like this couple, with their second chance at love. But Nick was immature at the beginning of the book, and didn’t really grow, as far as I was concerned. Polly needed to make all the concessions in this version of the relationship and frankly, she did that for a decade plus with her ex. Every author can have a book that a fan doesn’t like. Unfortunately, this is mine. I received an ARC, for which I agreed to honestly review this book. I’m sorry I didn’t enjoy it
"Sweet Troublemaker" (Indigo Bay Second Chances Book 1) by Jean Oram is a great read. I loved Nick and Polly's story. This is a great addition to the Indigo Bay series, and I loved catching up with Daphne from the Summer Sisters! This story had humor, second chances, entertaining characters, sweet romance, family, and more. I can't wait to see what happens next! I highly recommend to all fans of sweet romance, entertaining characters, and series.
Sweet Troublemaker is the first in the Indigo Bay Second Chances series by Canadian author Jean Oram. This is a “new to me” series by this author, whom is also fairly new to me as well. I found her writing style engaging, witty and with a bit (or a lot) of romantic angst.
I found the main characters (Polly and Nick) both had depth and substance as characters. Both were flawed as well as slightly injured with respect to their individual past romances, which added to their relatability. And for this Canadian reader – I found that Polly was from Canada and Nick from the US kind of fun.
Nick and Polly were involved as teenagers but have not seen each other in over two decades. You could tell that the “spark” from their teen years was still present. They come together to celebrate the wedding of Nick’s uncle and quickly become involved in the preparations for the wedding when the wedding planner quits. Can these two work so closely together to pull off a wonderful wedding? I quite enjoyed the ingenuity of Polly and Nick when problem solving various aspects of pulling together the wedding. Let me tell you – there was also some HEAT between the two – and that certainly added a fun dimension.
In the end – would the cowboy from Texas end up with the gal from Canada? Guess you will have to read this engaging romance and find out! I anticipate you will enjoy the writing of Ms. Oram as much as I have. So much so that I have gone ahead and gotten more of this delightful series (Indigo Bay Second Chances) to read 🙂 Happy to have found another Canadian author that I can support wholeheartedly!
The Sweet Troublemaker is an heartfelt romantic second chance love story. Polly and Nick were both their first love as teenagers and they meet again for Nick’s Uncle Roy wedding. There is great chemistry between Polly and Nick but they have both have personal problems in their life that they are working on. Polly is divorced and Nick has to think about what iHeart wants to do in his life. It is easy to relate to the Polly and Nick and even easier to root for their love story. This is a wonderful emotional fun story that I could not put down reading and I highly recommend reading this book. I received this book as an arc for an honest review of it.
Love this story. Paula had everything she thought she wanted...until she had nothing. Nick has lived and worked on his uncles ranch, but always liked to play pranks, until they went to far and his uncle fired him. Now Paula and Nick meet back ip in Indigo Bay after more than 20 years of not seeing eachother, and the 2 of them are rescuing his uncles wedding. Can she get past her insecurities and trust Nick and the love she has for him. Is he willing to let her catch up to his feelings?
I received a copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily. I stumbled upon Jean Oram earlier this year. She writes books that are sweet and clean. If you enjoy this type of romance then this story is for you. Sweet Troublemaker is about getting a second chance at love with someone. It is set in Indigo Bay and after you finish reading these stories you will feel like you were there. You will also want to vacation (or move) there for real.
Polly newly divorced, and now a wedding to attended. Dreams of a past love awaken as she once again sees Nick. A cowboy, but heart’s not into it, told not to come back He loves his family’s; kisses of a past love kept him single. Indigo Bay a delight to revisit, with people we know, their lives A delightful second chance at love, will they take a chance Given ARC for my voluntary review and my honest opinion
Sweet is the operative word and I admit I enjoyed reading a love story about two people getting a second chance to find each other. Nick, especially, was a favorite romantic guy. They lost me when a big personal announcement was selfishly, I think, made but it was a good, "sweet" beach escape for me.
This story was easy to follow, entertaining, and filled with interesting characters who brought with them a sense of friendship and community. The scenes were described in such a way that you felt as if you were standing next to the characters. Lacking was ‘suspense’ and ‘lust’, which was attempted but never surpassed ‘sweet’. Altogether, an easy read and a nice story.
Polly is going to this wedding with a plan, she is going to try to decide what to do next, her marriage is over, what now. Meeting up with Nick, her first kiss, after twenty years is a pleasant surprise but realizing that she still loves him is an even bigger surprise. This sweet story is my first visit to Indigo Bay but I know I want to go back.
I liked this book. I loved how the characters felt real. I have read a few by Jean Oram and she hasn't disappointed me. I like the romance, the questions, the real life problems of a couple.
I was grateful that the woman came to work through her issues and let go of her past without dragging it out. The cowboy who was her first kiss and love turned out to be just who she needed
Polly and Nick are great characters in this sweet romance. Their past is an interesting read that is going to affect their future. Really fun book returning to Indigo Bay. This story really held my interest throughout. I received a free copy of this book and this is my voluntary, honest review.
I absolutely LOVE Jean Oram! She really makes her characters come alive and have depth and the storyline is always so good. I did love this book but I do feel it also sped toward the end. The fight the two main characters had seemed really rushed and it just seemed to wrap up too nicely.
Sorry but I just hate when a good plot is, for me at least, ruined by the female protagonist losing every single brain cell when meeting a good looking male, or get straight into panic mode with the same result. 30-somethings behaving like teenagers is just not my thing.
This book didn't capture my attention like other books in the Indigo Bay Second Chance series. It was one I had no trouble putting down which was a surprise to me.
SWEET TROUBLEMAKER was another great 5 star book by Jean Oram. Polly and Nick are characters that remind me of my second chance. I loved it & highly recommend! I was given a copy for my honest review.
