Dhruv Bhatt
15 books70 followersDhruv Bhatt was born on 8 May 1947 in Ningala village of Bhavnagar State (now Bhavnagar district, Gujarat) to Prabodhray Bhatt and Harisuta Bhatt. He studied at various places, standard 1 to 4 at Jafrabad and Matriculation from Keshod. After studying commerce for two years, he left further studying[1] in 1972 and joined Gujarat Machine Manufacturers as Sales Supervisor. He voluntary retired and started writing career.[2]
His novel Akoopar has been adapted into a play directed by Aditi Desai.[3] Tattvamasi was adapted into the 2018 Gujarati film Reva.[4]

એક અલગ જ, અનપેક્ષિત અનુભવ છે આ પુસ્તક. એનું નામ પણ નથી સૂચવતું કે આ એક સાયન્સ ફિક્શન ની હરોળ માં આવતું, છતાં ધ્રુવ દાદા ની આગવી છાપ, પ્રકૃતિ પ્રેમ થી છલકાતી. વાર્તા છે. યાદ છે મને, જ્યારે સમુદ્રાતિકે વાંચતા મને એક સંવાદ એટલો સ્પર્શી ગયો હતો કે વળી વળી ને તેની પર હું જતો રહેતો. સાર કઈક આવો હતો : પ્રકૃતિ સદા સર્વદા મુક્ત છે. તેને કોઈ બાંધી નથી શકવાનુ. તમારા કરેલા વિકાસ કેટલા વરસ ટકશે ? એ આજે છે. કાલે નહિ હોય. પ્રકૃતિ અનંત કાળ થી છે અને રહેશે.
બસ, આ જ વાત લઈ ને ધ્રુવ ભટ્ટ આપણને લઈ જાય છે અલગ જ દુનિયા માં. નવા ગ્રહો ની સફરે. પણ છતાંયે અહીં પ્રકૃતિ મુખ્ય પાત્ર છે. અને છે (લેખક ના ટ્રેડ માર્ક રૂપી) એક અલ્લડ નાયિકા, જે સત્ય કહેવામાં બે વાત નથી વિચારતી. છે એક નાયક, જે પોતાની જ શોધ માં છે, અને જવાબો મળે છે તેને પ્રકૃતિમાં થી. ખૂબ જ સુંદર રીતે શ્લોકો થી શણગારી, ભવિષ્ય નાં તત્વો ને ઉમેરી, માનુશી લાગણીઓ ની સફરે લઈ જાય છે દાદા તમને. આ સફર છે અનોખી, છતાં તમારી જન્મદાત્રી. પૃથ્વીથી જોડાયેલી છે. (અને હા, પરિશિષ્ટ નું શું કહેવું ! આખી વાર્તા વાંચી ને પછી નામોનો અર્થ અને નોંધ વાંચી ને અહોભાવ ન થાય તો જ નવાઈ !)
An exotic, unexpected experience this book is. Even its name does not suggest that this is from science fiction genre, yet havin that distinctive touch of Dhruv Dada, bursting with love of nature. There is a dialogue. I remember when I was reading Samudrantike, I was so touched by, that I kept going back. The essence was something like this: Nature is always free. No one can bind it. How many years will your development last? That is today. Won't be here tomorrow. Nature has been and will always be here, as it is from eternity.
Taking the crux of this ahead, Dhruv Bhatt takes us to a different world. Journey to new planets. Yet here nature is the main character. And there is (the author's trademark) a bold heroine who doesn't think twice about telling the truth. There is a hero, who is on his own quest, and gets answers from nature. Dada takes you on a journey of human emotions, beautifully embellished with Sanskrit verses, adding elements of the future. This trip is a unique, yet connected to your roots, to the mother earth that gave you birth. (And yes, the appendix! After finishing the book, you get to know the meaning of names used there in, and the references and detailed meaning of footnotes. Ah !)

સમુદ્રાન્તિકેના સમુદ્ર અને અને તત્વમસીની નદીથી વધીને ધ્રુવ ભટ્ટની કથા પ્રકૃતી સમગ્ર બ્રહ્માંડમાં વિસ્તરે છે. ભુઈ, ઈહા અને પૃથ્વી ત્રણ અલગ ગ્રહોની બદલે પૃથ્વીના જ ત્રણ અલગ અલગ કાળખંડો છે. ભુઈ ગ્રહ ઉપરના લોકો પૃથ્વીવાસીઓ એ ન પસંદ કરેલી રીતે જીવન જીવતા લોકોનો ગ્રહ છે. અહીંના લોકો માટે રહેવું અગત્યનું નથી સાથે હોવું મહત્વનું છે અહીંના લોકો આક્રમણ નથી કરતા, સામનો કરે છે. ભુઈ નિવાસી પિરથી પૃથ્વી પરથી આવેલા કી ને કહે છે: “તું જેને સુખ માને છે તે જ સુખ છે તેવું હું નથી માનતી મારા સુખો હું મારા પોતાના શાણપણથી શોધું છું જગતે નક્કી કરેલી વ્યાખ્યાઓ થી નહીં”
સરળ અને ગહન. સાત્વિક અને ચેતવનારું. કઈ રીતે જીવવું જોઈએ ? શું છે આ પ્રશ્નનો ઉત્તર ? આપણે જે રીતે જીવી રહ્યા છીએ એ તો નથી જ…નેતિ, નેતિ….ન ઇતિ (આ નહીં, આ નહીં……આ પણ નહીં)
સરળ અને ગહન. સાત્વિક અને ચેતવનારું. કઈ રીતે જીવવું જોઈએ ? શું છે આ પ્રશ્નનો ઉત્તર ? આપણે જે રીતે જીવી રહ્યા છીએ એ તો નથી જ…નેતિ, નેતિ….ન ઇતિ (આ નહીં, આ નહીં……આ પણ નહીં)

પ્રકૃતિ સર્વોપરી છે.
ભૌતિકવાદ અને પ્રકૃતિવાદ નું શું પરિણામ આવે તે જાણવું હોય તો ધ્રુવ દાદા ની કલ્પના આ સથવારે 'ન ઈતિ' નું વાંચન શરૂ કરવું.
જ્યારે ભવિષ્ય માં પૃથ્વી પર પ્રલય આવશે અને માનવજાતિ ને બચાવવા માટે ના વિકલ્પો વિશ્વ સ્તરે ચર્ચા શે ત્યારે આ નવલકથા નું મહત્વ સમજાશે.
જેને પહેલા ધ્રુવદાદા ના પુસ્તકો વાંચેલા છે તેઓ જાણતા હશે કે લેખક કેટલા પ્રકૃતિપ્રેમી છે.
તેમની પહેલા ની નવલકથા ઑ જેમ કે અકૂપર, સમુંદ્રાન્તિકે, તત્વમસી માં જે પ્રકૃતિ નો ઉલ્લેખ જોવા મળે છે તેના અનુસંધાન માં આ નવલકથા પ્રકૃતિ ને સંપૂર્ણ સમર્પિત છે.
મનુવંશી એ ભૌતિકવાદ ને અનુસરી ને જે અત્યારે પૃથ્વી ની હાલત કરી છે તેનું ભવિષ્ય શું હોય શકે, જે આ નવલકથા વાંચવા થી ખબર પડશે. લેખકે માત્ર આવનાર પ્રલય કે વિનાશ ની વાત નથી કરી પણ તેમ થી કઈ રીતે બચી શકાય તેનો ઉકેલ પણ બતાવ્યો છે. નવલકથા ના પત્રો કે ઘટના નો હું ઉલ્લેખ નહીં કરું. આતો મારો એક પ્રયાસ છે કે હું આ નવલકથા વિષે થોડું લખું બાકી ધ્રુવ દાદા ના લખાણ ની તોલે કોઈ નો આવે.

This book showed me Earth the way I've never seen or felt it. And I'm grateful for that. Many thoughts are repetitive, but it's better for reinforcement that way.
The way he's connected to the thread of the universe, I've never seen anything like it, so far.
આપણે તો કહીએ કે દરિયાશી મોજમાં ને ઉપરથી કુદરતની રહેમ છે!

Wonderful sci-fi on Indian civilization by a Gujarati writer. This book should be translated in many Indian and foreign languages.
