Homeland Insecurity: A Novel

Rate this book
Bestselling author Richard Abanes investigated white supremacist groups in an award–winning book. Now he and his wife, Evangeline, craft a nail–biting fictional exposé of this murky underworld. With no warning, white supremacists launch the most devastating attack on America to ever be witnessed. In Los Angeles, journalist Frank Delafield narrowly escapes death and starts his own investigation to find out how the deadly plot could have been planned and executed right under the watchful eyes of law–enforcement. Delafield is led to a clandestine group called Yahweh’s Holy Temple in the sleepy town of Rosamond, California. There he meets true Christians...but also those who twist the Bible’s words into a violent religion that reflects the hate of their own hearts. Even the hard–boiled journalist is shocked by their ambitious plans to destroy the U.S. government and replace it with a “Fourth Reich” based on Hitler’s teachings. Will Delafield be able to find enough information to expose their plans...and will he find that information soon enough to prevent more deaths?

This book is a hidden gem. I was very surprised to find very few reviews on it, and even worse is when I tried Googling it (by just typing its title) and found nothing on it - nothing, not even the Goodreads page. Strange.
I think this book deserves more attention.
Maybe I'm exaggerating a little because I like this type of novels? I'm not sure, BUT this book was AWESOME. It kept me on edge 95% of the time, which is very weird, considering -again- the very few reviews on it and the little to no information on it on the web.
The gist of the story is that America is attacked by neo-Nazi white supremacists and we witness the story from multiple perspectives (which isn't as bad as it sounds) including the protagonist, Frank Delafield, who is an investigative journalist. Anyway, I won't say any more than what I have said and I'll leave the rest for when you decide to pick it up yourself, and see it for yourself. I mean, c'mon, the name itself should make you want to read it right away -- "Homeland Insecurity" and Homeland Security -- get it? ;)
FIVE GOLDEN STARS FOR THIS ONE!

This wasn't my favorite book very slow read, but made it through. Different parts of this novel were more captivating then others. I wouldn't necessarily recommend this book however I am sure there are those that may like it so give it a try. I wanted to at least finish it.

This book explains how a white supremacist group plots to take over the country. It gives explicit detail as to how groups such as these function. Informative. Plot was relatively average.
