A reluctant Mail Order Bride accepts her fate as her family struggles to survive the fall of civilization on Earth. Food, medicine, and water are scarce. Her family’s only hope is the dowry they will receive from Trixie’s future alien husband. She agrees to be a Mail Order Bride without knowing what kind of humanoid he will be...
Rox is not exactly humanoid… he looks more beast than human. Worse, he paid for a bride during a drunken spree and then forgot about her. He doesn’t even show up for her arrival. Rox takes his friend’s advice, decides to enjoy his bride in every way until he can break the contract. Rox never expected she would be so beautiful, or that she would stir such desire in him.
Passion brings them together while stubborn pride threatens to tear them apart. Will they overcome the obstacles to their happiness or go their separate ways?
My biggest issue with this read is the connection. There was no emotional/mental/spiritual connection between the 2 characters. All they had was purely physical. So, I still do wonder how they got to the point of "I love U". Overall, Romance was lacking. 3 stars.
ROK applied for the Mail Bride Order services when he was coerced by his best friend, and they were both drunk as fuck. During a mission, he received a call that the agency has found his perfect match and she's on the way to meet him. Rok was absolutely horrified. He didn't want a wife, and he certainly didn't need one. But, things take a turn when his human bride appears and he's immediately taken with her, their passion burning bright despite the misunderstandings and rift between the two. Rok had his faults, he wasn't perfect and he didn't deal well with emotions. Frankly, he botched up the relationship by jumping to conclusions too fast. Real mature, Rok.
TRIXIE needed to marry an alien for the sake of her family. Brave and beautiful, she crossed the universe to meet her alien husband who apparently didn't want her, didn't make her feel welcome and only served to hurt her feelings. The only thing good about him? The sex. I'll be honest and say the only thing about this story that makes for good entertainment was the cliche angst because in terms of plot, it was shallow and so were the characters. Trixie though was at least filial and that was her main motivation throughout the story.
OVERALL it's a guilty pleasure of mine to just enjoy the drama-rama and take things off my mind after a long day. If you're looking for intense? This will not be it.
Patricia and her family love on an Earth that is slowly declining. Times are hard and when she loses her job her dad has her sign her with an alien bride registry. After a few weeks she's matched with a man whose nickname is Rok. Unfortunately, he signed up when he and his friend were very drunk and now doesn't know what to do with a wife he doesn't want. Patricia is not meet at the ship and when taken to Rok's home is not allowed inside. So she goes to a hotel where later that night Rok finds her. The chemistry between the two is electric and they can't keep their hands off each other. But life turns very difficult and hazardous thanks to the interference if a house keeper who acts as if she owns the place. Then due to a miscommunication, Rok kicks her out and abandons her at a ship yard. Her life becomes endangered. Will Rok realize his mistakes in time or will she lose her life. Fantastic story and read.
There is nothing worse to a new relationship than a man whose been deceived in the past and a lying jealous female currently in his life. Rok was an alien commander who orders a mail order bride while drunk. When the Agency informed him his bride was on her way he had no idea how she would effect in and turn his whole world upside down. Trixie just wanted to help her family, she had no intention on falling for her alien mate. It takes a devious, jealous, lying servant to jeopardize their marriage and wake Rok up to the reality that he loved Trixie. It was a story that kept me riveted until I finished.
I got this book confused with another book that was similar and have to rewrite the review. The fmc was an secretative ass from day one. I mean Mr. alien introduction could have been a little less brusque but she was absolute witch to deal with and she was the one needing his credits. I do not see why she didn't just tell him the truth of what was going on with her family. He was giving her a crap ton of money to just plurge anyway. I think the whole housekeeper thing could have been explored a little bit more. There should have been a conversation/fight between her and Rok. Overall, I kinda enjoyed the book, mostly.
Very enjoyable! Great world-building. Vuuqreoks really does behave like a jerk in the beginning, slowly showing more appreciation for his new human mate. However, he’s left her floundering in a difficult situation. Can he recover from these mistakes and rescue his marriage? Trixie is a spunky girl! I admire her determination to make the best of her new life, and her concern for her family on earth. Will a jealous houseworker ruin everything? You’ll have to read to find out!
Pleasantly surprised. She's a mail order bride with very little choice and Rok keeps her even though it was a drunken mistake. He holds off his growing feelings for her due to fear of being hurt again but a mistaken betrayal forces them to confront their feelings for each other. The sex was hot and Rok appeared incredibly human for an alien with horns and a tail.
I enjoyed the setup of this story and it was well written overall. However, the main conflict in the story could have been solved if the hero and heroine had bothered to talk to each other. That kind of plot annoys me, but I still think it is worth reading.
Loved it! The book has everything you want in an alien romance. A big strong alien, packed with miss trust, adventure, action, love, and hot five stars romance with awesome characters. Very enjoyable, hope to read more books on this series, and highly recommended?
Great new series. I like the setting for these bride books. He was a powerful rich scarred beast that signed up in a moment of weakness that wasn't looking for a bride. When she arrives she wasn't what he expected but slowly eases her way In to his heart.good series
The story was frustrating at times but good all the same. It was unique, not a common plot. I wish the end was wrapped up in more detail and not just general.
