One night with professional bull rider Trent Campbell had been everything that Kelly Sullivan had fantasized about. Unfortunately, it cost her everything. When she became pregnant, her father threw her out because she wouldn’t tell him the baby's father was his rodeo hero—the hero who ghosted her when she tried so many times to tell him about their daughter.
Trent Campbell never forgot the best night of his life. It was what kept him going when a 2,000-lbs bull ended his career and almost his life. Throughout his long recovery, thinking of Kelly and wishing he still had his stolen phone so he could contact her, were what got him through the tough days—that, and his bull-headed stubbornness that he’d not only walk again, he’d ride.
When Kelly returns to Last Stand, Texas, in a last-ditch effort to keep her family from selling the Three Sisters Ranch, she has a plan to make her father proud of her again by turning part of the land into a portrait studio location. Her father, however, has already temporary leased Trent some land for a rodeo school. Kelly and Trent still have the same explosive chemistry, but now the stakes are higher. If she lets Trent into her life, it won’t only be her heart he breaks this time if he leaves, it will be their daughter’s.

The Cowboy’s Daughter by Jamie K. Schmidt is the first book in her Three Sisters Ranch series. The series is off to a great start.
Kelly Sullivan is a professional photographer and single mom of 5 yr-old, Alissa. Kelly is kicked out of her home by her father because she won’t name her daughter’s father and moves to New York. Trent Campbell is a former bull rider whose career was prematurely ended by an enraged bull. He’s spent a considerable amount of time in rehabilitation for his injuries. Trent and Kelly both have vivid memories of their one night together and wish there could have been more. Circumstances have led them both back to their hometown. Can Kelly risk her heart again, knowing that this time she won’t be the only one hurt?
The Cowboy’s Daughter is an easy but fulfilling read. The story held my attention from start to finish. The characters, scenery and plot are all exceptionally rendered. This novel is unputdownable. I rate it a solid 5 out of 5 and recommend it to all readers of romance novels. Be aware that there is explicit sexual content that might be offensive to some readers.
My thanks to Tule Publishing and NetGalley for the opportunity to read an advance copy of this book. However, the opinions expressed in this review are 100% mine and mine alone.
- Received an Advance Reader Copy in exchange for a fair review - 3.5 stars. A very sweet, and sometimes sex-explicit, story, featuring an alluring wounded hero and a strong heroine and centered on the “secret baby” trope, “The Cowboy’s Daughter” is a very enjoyable, quick read. I loved that Trent’s injuries aren’t downplayed, on the contrary, and its lingering effects – limping, pain – are thoroughly described and not forgotten (!) in the narrative, as often happens with many authors. Jamie K. Schmidt wrote a great wounded hero in pain, making him both charming and vulnerable, which isn’t an easy task. The former bull rider immediately bonds with his daughter and reconnects with the heroine, Kelly, their previous intense chemistry reestablished too (perhaps a bit too quickly, bit it flowed very well). I loved how the author wrote this process, and how the decency of the characters shone through. Trent is a sort of a reformed Don Juan, but his attachment to Kelly and Alissa is undeniable. There’s an interesting background story including saving Kelly’s family ranch and Trent setting a bull rider school. The author managed to write one of the most obnoxious fathers (Kelly’s) I can remember. I found the graphic sex scenes a bit redundant and Trent’s reaction to an eventual second child somewhat naïve and contrived.
Judge me all you want, but I am total trash for the secret baby trope. And I really liked how that whole storyline played out. But good grief - for a single mom who got all “you can’t take my daughter away from me - I’ve never been without her” she sure left her daughter behind with her parents quite a bit without a second thought.
This is the first book I’ve read by Jamie K. Schmidt, but it will not be the last! Thanks goes to the publisher, via Net-Galley, for giving me the chance to read and review Cowboy’s Daughter prior to publication. My opinions are my own and are not influenced in any way.
Cowboy’s Daughter is a heartwarming romance with an adorable five-year-old, and a unique plot involving a second chance at love between a bull rider and the woman he could never forget. The writing is emotional, bringing tears on more than one occasion. I loved Kelly’s irascible father. He’s so stubborn but loveable! In fact, I enjoyed all the characters. Ms. Schmidt is very good at character development.
Kelly is such a sweetheart! I fell in love with her from the first page. She’s smart, determined and is will willing to return to Three sisters Ranch to help save it, even though her father turned his back on her when she needed him the most. There’s so much to admire! She truly deserves to find her happy ending.
Trent is an awesome hero. He’s so forgiving and accepting. Most men would not have been so understanding when he finds out his mentor’s decisions kept him away from his daughter. His determination to put his hurt aside and accept Kelly and his daughter into his life is amazing.
The chemistry is swift and powerful when Kelly and Trent see each other again. Even though there’s plenty of hot, sexual scenes, their underlying love is emotional and added to the enjoyment tremendously.
If you’re looking for a romance that will put a smile on your face, you will love Cowboy’s Daughter as much as I. I can’t wait to read the next book in this outstanding series. Happy reading!
Found this book a page turner, interesting, intriguing, romantic. Actually, it's quite graphic with being romantic. Love the intriguing and the fact it kept me guessing to end of book. Loved the plots. Will I read again? Jury is still out but not ruling it out. Because the book is graphic in places, I only suggest that a mature audience most likely 18+ read this book.
Kelly is drawn back home from New York when her family's ranch is facing financial ruin. Determined to help wherever she can, she's equally determined to avoid the entire subject of her daughter's father, a renown and retired bull-rider who has avoided her calls since their one-night-stand nearly six years earlier.
Trent is still finding his footing after the ride that ended his career nearly ended his life as well. He wants to start a bull-riding school on a local ranch, not knowing even a hint that he's already very connected to that ranch and its family.
This secret/unknown baby story rises above the usual with complex storytelling, well-developed characters, and an honest approach to the difficulties inherent in the characters' histories. It's instantly captivating, full of surprises, building a fictional environment that is as fresh and inviting as it is warm and familiar. It's an outstanding start to a new series, and I highly recommend it.
My only complaint is not with the writing itself, but with having to once again ignore a cover in order to escape into a book. Alissa is referred to as blonde at least three different times, despite the very obvious brunette child on the cover. It can't be that hard to get it right. I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book.
It started off wonderfully, I was hooked on that 1st chapter and the next that followed I was enjoying. 22% in and they meet and it was just so wrong I felt like DNFing right there. Our FMC was thrown out of the house, so she's a quite angry and hurt because of it, but the 1st day she's in their house she leaves her daughter in their house to go to a bar. The 6 year old fell asleep and she just left assuming her parents would look after her. Who does that? At the bar the MC's meet up after 6 years. Now, she hates him, ok, because he ghosted her, but that's not the case anymore. The reader can clearly see it's going to be all about the s.e.x. His lower brain takes over and it's all he wants to do with her. No how have you been, tell me what you've been doing these 6 years. She could be married for all he knows. He just assumes she's still single? The whole scene just lacked feeling, they were like two robots. 30% in the daughter finally entered the scene but was completely ignored by her mother - still leaving the child in the hands of those tat hurt her baffled me. Yeah. Nope. DNFed at 35%
A lot of developmental issues. Characters too self-centered, selfish. I asked too many questions to have an enjoyable read.
Trent Campbell was living a fast and free life in the Rodeo circuit until an angry bull took him out of the game. A broken bull rider who discovers his 5-year-old pint-size mini-me in Last Stand, TX, alongside the woman he has not been able to forget for 5 long years. Misunderstandings and miscommunications and well so much more kept these two apart but fate brought them back to the Last Stand at the same time. Will the power of a small child, a good woman, who has overcome a great deal and life in general be able to heal this man and a family?
Romance genre: second chance/secret baby Series: Three Sisters Ranch Length: 248 pages
Plot: Trent and Kelly had a one-night-stand a few years ago. Kelly ended up pregnant, and when she tried to get in touch with Trent, he never returned her calls. She went so far as to contact his manager (he's a bull rider), but the manager said that Trent wanted nothing to do with her. Now Kelly is moving back home to help save her family's ranch, and she finds that Trent has rented a piece of land on her family's property to open a bull-riding school. He can't ride anymore due to a horrible injury that nearly killed him. Of course, secrets will come to light as they get to know each other again, but the important thing is - do they want to pick up where they left off?
Character development: I was of two minds with Kelly's choice to keep her daughter a secret. Mostly, I was okay with it. She didn't actually try to keep her a secret at first. She tried to get in touch with Trent multiple times in multiple ways. It was his horrible manager (which, btw, nobody was really mad enough at him) who caused the problem. A small part of me thinks she should have told him right away when she ran into him again, but honestly, she had already tried, and thanks to the manager, believed that he wanted nothing to do with her or her daughter. S0 I really understood - she was trying to protect herself and her daughter, and yes, she was a little mad! I was mad at Trent being mad though! But again, not really his fault either - circumstances (lost phone, bad accident, terrible manager) caused the separation, not willful meanness. I was baffled by the insertion of the second secret baby plot device - I don't think that was necessary. Poor Trent - children popping up everywhere. It was even sadder because he seemed to want that, so if he had known about his daughter from the beginning, he probably would have been okay with it. That, and he had never forgotten Kelly.
This was a charming book the baby surprise happened 6 yrs before the beginning of the book so we are told the story of what happened then and what is happening now. I like cowboy stories and this one was pretty good, the main characters and the family were interesting and entertaining and the drama was low so it didn't ruin the story. New to me author, the writing was good, some steamy sex and believable story with HEA.
Weakness is life's way of teaching us how to be strong. Schmidt takes those words and crafts an inspirational story around them. Kelly and Trent had one night of perfection in each others arms. But at what cost? Can the heartache caused by that steamy night be healed by the power of love? The Cowboy's Daughter encompasses two love stories in one sweet life lesson.
A captivating read from beginning to end! An exciting storyline that leaves you breathless wanting more! Sexy steam filled chemistry! Emotionally heartfelt, enjoyable and fun! One heck of a twisted, intense rollercoaster ride! An amazing must read!

Stubborn pain betrayal is something you would think could have a happy ending. But threw a ruff road, a bull ride, a discovery you get that HEA you so come to love
I loved this book so much I don't even know where to start. After a passionate night with bull rider, Trent, Kelly found out she was pregnant. She tried to contact Trent but he didn't answer her texts or respond to her calls left on his cell or with his manager. It turns out that Trent lost his phone and has been thinking about her constantly, but never got her last name so he had no way of finding her. Because Trent was Kelly's father's hero, she didn't want to tell her Dad who fathered her baby. In response, Kelly's dad kicked her off of Three Sister's Ranch. Now Kelly has returned to the ranch with her 5 year old daughter to help dig out the ranch from financial difficulties and finds that Trent is leasing part of the ranch to build a bull riding school. I liked how the characters were both flawed but admirable and they were both mature and faced problems head on. Despite the misunderstanding that occurred 6 years before, they both realized that it was neither their faults and they both wanted to start over and get to know each other while Trent also wanted to get to know his daughter. The book set up future stories with the other two sisters and potential suitors. I can't wait for the next book in the series.

Five years prior to the start of the book, Trent and Kelly hooked up one night after a rodeo competition in town. He was the local boy made good, she was the daughter of a rancher. They both felt major sparks and texted for a little while afterward, but then, unbeknownst to Kelly, Trent's phone was stolen and he stopped replying to her. She thought he was ghosting her, especially when she then found out she was pregnant. She made several attempts to contact him, then contacted his manager, but was given the brush off, so she gave up. Her parents turned their backs on her but she has a good life in working as a photographer in NYC with her aunt, loves her daughter, and is relatively happy.
After 5 years Kelly is drawn back to the ranch on the news that her parents are about to lose it due to bankruptcy. When she arrives home, she discovers Trent has signed a contract with her father to open a rodeo school. As soon as they meet again, sparks fly just as they did the last time. The only problem is that Trent has no idea he has a daughter.
I love secret baby plots as long as the reason for the secret was realistic as it was in this case. I also loved Trent's determination to move on from a serious injury that decimated his health and his bank balance, and Kelly's determination to help her family. The book was a good read, but I did have an issue with how quickly people were forgiven. Trent punched his manager when he found out the manager had kept Kelly from him when she was pregnant, but otherwise never really held him responsible. As for Kelly's dad, who threw her out when he found out she was pregnant, he was an absolute a**, who did not redeem himself in any way. She dropped her entire life to try to help him with his financial difficulties, and he never even thanked her or acknowledged it. I also thought the relationship between Trent and Kelly picked up really quickly, and I didn't feel a strong connection between them.
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advance copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
this couple is the epitome of lust not love. the little girl is barely in the book so can't even give it cute points. the characters hardly developed, so i also can't give it development points. by the end of the book, the whole vibe was honestly just giving me the ick. i think this book would be better written as Trent's story of healing and connecting with a daughter he never knew. i wouldn't read that either, but the romance aspect doesn't exist in this book and should really just be written out.
I did truly try, but I did not enjoy this book; there were so many dysfunctional people weaving in and out of the storyline. The writing is fine, but the characters and plotlines are lacking. I did not like the people in the book; I could not warm to them and there was little chemistry between the main characters. When each said “I love you” to the other, I wondered why. Figuring out the purpose of this book was like trying to nail Jell-O to a wall.
Here’s what I mean: The male protagonist, Trent Campbell, was a bull rider on the rodeo circuit and a one-night-stand kind of guy until he was injured by a bull who stomped all over him after pitching him off and causing serious injuries. Trent had potential offspring with women all over the country, one of whom is the female protagonist of the story, Kelly Sullivan. That doesn’t say much for his moral or ethical character.
The female protagonist is a passive-aggressive woman with severe daddy issues. She seems one-dimensional, a placeholder in the storyline and not much more. She’s pushed and prodded all over the story and seems fairly directionless. Her main purpose seems to be one of Trent’s one-night-stands with consequences.
Daddy, Frank Sullivan, is a nasty, cranky old man who has a temper and no one in the family has the wherewithal to stand up to him. He kicked his daughter out of the house when she was pregnant with Trent’s baby because she wouldn’t tell him who the father was. That kept her away for five years. Even though Kelly returned for holidays, she did not like it and was not anxious to return to the ranch where she could easily be tossed out again (and she was right).
Mama was of little interest in the story. She was a babysitter for Kelly’s daughter and had absolutely no sway over her husband's opinions and behaviors. She just stood aside when her husband ordered their daughter out of the house. She didn’t have any sort of personality but seemed to be a pretty good door mat.
The remaining sisters, Janice and Evelyn, are on the periphery. Since all three are supposed to be personally and financially invested in the ranch together, it would have been interesting to see them interact with each other, as sisters. Three Sisters Ranch was named after them, but they do not behave as if they are especially close. They have a lot of issues from the thoughtless nicknames their daddy gave them.
Trent’s manager was a piece of work, so to speak. His main purpose was to keep fans away from Trent, particularly the women, ten of whom claimed to have babies by him. Yes, Kelly was one of the ten. He paid off most of them to go away. Nice. (not)
There were a few inconsistencies in the book. For instance: Kelly’s father left a message for his daughters and this message precipitated the main plotline. However, when the message was actually received is up in the air. On Kindle page 8 in chapter 1, we are told “Kelly hadn’t been thinking about much else since she got the message a few weeks ago.” Later in chapter 3, on Kindle page 51, Kelly tells Trent “He [her father] left all of us voice mail messages a week ago that he was selling the ranch.” Curious….
Kelly’s sister, Janice, has an unknown vocation. In chapter 2, we are told she “works at a dressage ranch in Kentucky.” This is reiterated later in the chapter when Kelly is thinking about “the dressage competitions [asking] for her [Janice] by name” because Janice is so good at whatever it is she does. Apparently, it’s something to do with dressage horses. But in chapter 7, Janice answers the question, “Where will you go?” posed by Kelly with this response: “Wherever I want. Every town needs a veterinarian.” I wonder if the writer changed her mind about Janice’s work? If she were a veterinarian, as she states in chapter 7, then that would have been an important fact to include earlier on.
Birth control pills are ~99% effective if taken as prescribed, and depending on the type of pill (e.g., one type of hormone vs. a mix) chances of pregnancy are low. If Kelly were paying attention to the administration of her birth control tablets, then missing one would not be disastrous since there is some forgiveness: hormones from the tablets remain in the blood even after a forgotten dose. Kelly does admit to being lackadaisical when it comes to taking her birth control pills. That’s idiotic. Although her daddy called her the pretty one, and not a smart one, she should be smart enough to remember not to get pregnant, unless she really didn’t care. If so, then she got what she wanted, a child. And she seems pretty happy with her daughter. And...the daughter seems to be the most well-adjusted character in the book, temper tantrums and all.
Overall, the book is a quick read, with few typographical or grammatical mistakes. Quotation marks are sometimes problematic. They are omitted on occasion and the reader has to backtrack to figure out when a character is speaking. It’s not awful, but it is disruptive and causes the reader to leave the story for a minute or two.
I rated this book 2.5 stars and rounded up. It is an easy to read style, but even taking time to reread sections, I could not find much to like about the characters. The sisters comprise an odd family dynamic and I am not in the least interested in reading more about any of them. I’ll pass on any more books in this series.
Just a sweet cowboy secret baby and second chance story
The Cowboy's Daughter by Jamie K. Schmidt was a heart tugging romance novel is there ever was one written. It is about Kelly Sullivan, a 28 year old single mother who lives in NYC with her aunt and is a professional photographer who is employed by her aunt. She is originally from Texas where she grew up on a ranch with her two younger sisters. Her father referred to sisters as - the beautiful one, the smart one and my baby girl. Nothing like being typecast in a family no is there? Anyway, at 22 she has a one-night stand with a rodeo bull rider named Trent after the local rodeo. Trent was a few years older than Kelly and her also grew up in the same town, went to the same school and was a town hero because he was one of the best bull riders on the PBA circuit. There was a little surprise after that evening which Trent left with Kelly in the form of a beautiful daughter named Alissa who is not 5 years old. Trent did not know anything about Alissa even though Kelly had tried to reach him due to his phone being stolen and then his manager not communicating her messages to Trent.
Now the bad thing is that Trent was Kelly's fathers idol regarding the bull riders and everyone followed him. So because Kelly thought Trend did not want anything to do with her and the baby she would not tell anyone who the father was. Dear old Daddy gave her an ultimatum and when she would not tell he banished her from the family farm, a real understanding SOB if I ever saw one! She landed in NYC at 6 months pregnant with her mothers sister. She built a good life for herself and had not necessarily healed but put some duct tape over the wounds and had a bit of relationship with her parents, especially for Alissa's sake.
Turns out that running the farm got a bit much and with financial difficulties the daughters are all called back to Three Sisters Ranch to say goodbye to it. The sisters all decide they will move back and try to save the ranch by opening different businesses that will then help financially. Dad however, has pulled a fast on on the girls and he has something up his sleeve in the form of leasing part of the land for a rodeo school, owned and run by Trent of course. So Kelly has some decisions to make and one of them is if she tells Trent that Alissa is his. But she first needs to trust Trent again and believe that he is here to stay. What she does not know if that he kept thinking of her and looking for her. So when he sees her at the local bar on her first night back he lasers in on her and won't let her go. So it seems that Kelly and Trent have an opportunity for a second chance if they can get over their prior misunderstandings and some other personal issues.
This story is really lovely, in a good way, as it is engaging, heartfelt, sweet, sexy, piss you off and good character development with believable back-stories. The author has woven together a great story with not only the main characters but a whole host of other characters that you get a taste of for their stories, other books coming of course for each of the sisters. I am looking forward to reading the other books in this series when they become available as I would like to revisit the Three Sisters Ranch and get to know the rest of the family more. Maybe hang out on the front porch swing with a nice glass of wine enjoying a nice breeze while enjoying the sunset.
I received a free ARC of this book in exchange for my honest review. My opinions are all my own.

However, her father has already temporary leased Trent some land for a rodeo school. Kelly and Trent still have the same explosive chemistry that led to their own night stand, but now the stakes are higher. If she lets Trent into their lives, it could damage the tentative truce with her father—especially if Trent is going to ride off into the sunset taking not only her heart, but this time their daughter’s heart along with him. Trent and Kelly are riding out to take stock of the condition the Three Sisters Ranch is in. Unfortunately, Trent's injuries make horseback riding difficult. But do you think he's going to tell her that? It was now or never. Trent eyed Sunflower and the pretty thing eyed him back with a sweet, but dim look. That was something at least. “Do you want a step ladder?” Kelly asked, concerned. His hip went, YES, I DO. His pride went,no. “Nah, I got this.” Please look away. Of course, she didn’t. Trent gritted his teeth and put his foot in the stirrup, and swung his leg over. It wasn’t the prettiest mount he’d ever done, but he was up there and he was planning on staying that way. He’d worry about dismounting when the time came. I highly recommend reading. I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book." The Cowboy's Daughter by Jamie K. Schmidt is a wonderful well written 4 star book Jamie K. 's Books with Tule: The Cowboy’s Daughter Three Sisters Ranch
The Cowboy's Daughter is the first in this series by Jamie K. Schmidt. This was a fast paced, thrilling, sexy romance that was filled with drama and misunderstandings. Bull rider rodeo champion Trent had an intense one night stand with Kelly that left her pregnant. When Trent is severely hurt by the bull he was thrown from, his recovery took years in order for him to heal and walk again which ended his career. But through all of this he never forgot about the one girl that got away when he didn't know how to reach her. When Kelly learned she was pregnant she tried leaving messages on his phone as well as contacting his manager who told her to stay away from Trent. When her father kicked her off the Three Sister's Ranch because she would not tell him the name of the baby's father Kelly had to move to New York to live with her Aunt became a photographer and raised her daughter alone.
Now five years later she returns to her father's ranch due to his phone call informing her that the ranch will need to be sold, but she along with her sisters have plans of their own to save the ranch. The one person she never expected to see again was Trent, but after a night out they run into each other and the chemistry is stronger then ever especially when he informed her that he has has been looking for her for years and wants to be with her. When she learns from Trent that he is leasing land on the ranch to start a bull riding school the drama unfolds, how does she tell him that he is a father and the years they missed due to his manager never telling Trent that Kelly tried to reach out to him. When he learns the truth that he is a father he becomes enraged that he was mislead by his manager, now they have to wait to tell the truth to her family as he gets to know his daughter. When all is revealed, her father becomes enraged and relationships are broken and Kelly decides to leave again. What will Kelly do when she learns the challenge Trent decided to take for his future as well as her family. Trent will be riding the bull that destroyed him for an exorbitant amount of money that will save the ranch but will this decision be life threating? Can Trent and Kelly be together and be a family? This is a moving, loving romantic second chance love story that should not be missed. Can't wait for the next book!

It’s ironic that it is often the small things in life that can change our destiny. Take Trent and Kelly, for example, they’d had one amazing, connecting night together. Each fell hard, each believed that night was the start of something amazing. They went their separate ways, each thinking it was only temporary yet when Trent’s phone was stolen shortly after he was unable to contact the woman who had such an impact on his life. And Kelly’s calls went unanswered, the calls that might have changed everything in between then and now. Yeah, life sure does hold a sucker-punch in the wings for us it often seems.
If I wasn’t already hooked and addicted to Tule’s Texas Born imprint’s creation of this small town of Last Stand, Texas with connecting series, then THE COWBOY’S DAUGHTER would have guaranteed it. Trent’s and Kelly’s story is realistic, believable and the broken trust, the pain both physical and emotional very real, and the connections between the characters so vibrant that even the secondary characters come to life. Dumb stuff happens in life, parents make decisions that will affect their children for years, and yes, those decisions are sometimes harsh and regretted. All of that plus the very real life-long effects of Trent’s injury has a sense of peeking into someone’s life, someone you know and care about.
I liked these characters, adored a little 5-year-old who often stole scenes, even sort of understood Kelly’s father’s reactions although I’m not sure I could have forgiven them (but that’s me). There are more stories to be told in the Three Sisters Ranch series, and I definitely am looking forward to discovering even more about this family. I’ve been vague on some details for although I had a blast with this romance I also feel that you should discover this one on your own. Take a chance on THE COWBOY’S DAUGHTER, you’ll find a believable couple, a realistic situation and a story that will draw you in and leave you wanting more.
*I received an e-ARC of this novel from the publisher via NetGalley. That does not change what I think of this story. It is my choice to leave a review giving my personal opinion about this book.*

Kelly Sullivan (27) is the oldest of her parents' three daughters, a photographer, and the mother of Alissa, her five year old daughter. Kelly's father sent her and her sisters a message telling them that he couldn't afford to keep the ranch any longer, so all three returned home. Trent Campbell (31) was a professional rodeo bull rider when he was injured 5 years ago. After a lot of physical therapy, he's finally able to start his own bull riding school. He's leased land from Kelly's father for three years to start his school. When Kelly returns home, she realizes her father lied to her and her sisters. Kelly tells Trent Alissa is his daughter. Trent learns that his manager was "protecting" him by not telling him about the 10 women who claimed to be pregnant with his children. Things in the ranch get difficult when Kelly's dad finds out Trent is Alissa's father. Trent takes a $3 million offer to ride the bull that injured him 5 years ago. In the end, Trent is in the process of buying the Three Sisters Ranch from the Sullivan family, and while not engaged or married, Trent and Kelly are together.
