Great Book! Jackson and Jenna have to overcome their high school misunderstandings to find their true feelings. Jenna thinks he is a jerk and he has always been in love with her. A clean romance that I would recommend. I received a copy of this book from the author, but I have read several of her books and have enjoyed them all.

I loved Jenna and Jackson in Emma St. Clair’s The Sandover Beach Billionaire (The Billionaire Surprise Book 6). They’re beautifully complex and layered but at the same time totally genuine, from the emotions felt about cleaning out the home of a loved one (bern there, done that) to the emotions felt when trying to show your true colors and value (yup, been there too). Perfectly plotted with a superb cast this is one heck of a fun novel (with billionaire icing on top - and I love a good billionaire romance). But for the fact that I’m literally dictating this review to my husband from my hospital bed I could go on and on with praises. The book definitely deserves it. Since I can’t do that I will simply note that the book is most definitely one to read, and it is easy to highly recommend.

There is so much more to Sandover Beach Billionaire than you can get from the blurb. Jenna has been plundered emotionally by the death of her mother and her divorce from her cheating spouse. She's back home to settle the estate and decide whether to sell or keep her old home. Steve, her best friend and childhood sweetheart, shows up almost as soon as she hits town. She also runs into Jackson, the wild boy from school. Jackson's daughter is a hoot! The characters are well written, the beautiful town is itself a character in the book. There are themes of redemption, forgiveness, and grace . Several of the secondary characters would make great main characters if this becomes a series. I could not put the book down and fervently hope there will be more stories from Sandover Beach.

I say this just about every time I read of this author’s books, but this is my favorite of the Billionaire series. The way she makes a concept that is so fantastical feel plausible and authentic is truly a gift. They are real and raw and there are a few swoons involved in parts: and it all feels like it could happen in the nonfiction world. This is good writing. This is what people want—stories that while fictional, also have a ring of truth.

Jenna had been hurt by men. Her high school boyfriend had dumped her and her ex-husband had cheated on her leaving her with a reminder of his cheating ways. She had grown up in Sandover Beach and was now back after he mom's passing to clean up and sell the family home. She couldn't stand Jackson Wells because he reminded her of the men from her past who had hurt her and left her feeling brokenhearted. She couldn't trust him but when she ran into him again and again, he was nothing but kind and patient with her.

Jackson Wells had loved Jenna for years and now she was back in Sandover Beach. He was determined to be worthy of her and to earn her forgiveness. He was a changed man and he wanted her to know how sorry he was to have ever caused her pain. After getting trapped in an elevator together and that searing kiss, was it possible there could be more than friendship between them? Would they be able to trust each other not to cause hurt and heartache?

This was a sweet, clean perfect summer read. It was a quick read that left me with a good feeling and a happy ever after ending. I was given an arc copy of this book and I willingly offer my review.

A lovely story!! I read the original and loved it, so was really excited to read this updated version. I LOVED Jackson! He was so sweet and nice you can't help but fall in love with him. Jenna... I wasn't so sure about at the start. She seemed a bit rude and aggressive, but as I read more about her story, it became easier to understand her point of view. I felt that Jackson and Jenna were really good for each other.
The plot was great as well. Although there were some cliche storylines, it was well-written and interesting. The story generally had a good flow and I really enjoyed reading it!
One of my favourites parts was Jenna's character development. I loved how after she reconciled with God, her character changed. Her insecurities and bitterness didn't just disappear overnight, but you could see (or should I say read ^^) how it affected her life. That was a really beautiful part to read.
Overall, this novel is not to be missed and I would recommend it to all lovers of sweet romance!

I received a copy of this novel from the publisher. This has not affected my review, which is my honest and unbiased opinion.

Second chance

A great clean Christian romantic read. It proves second chances do happen. I couldn't put it down. A must read.

I was excited to read Jackson’s romance. He was such a great guy and so helpful in the previous books in the series. I thought it was cute that they both had crushes on each other in high school but didn’t know it. He had an uphill battle with Jenna after her sister’s reputation was ruined in high school because of her association with him. Jenna’s exs were real pieces of work, lying and cheating on her. No wonder she has trouble trusting. Jackson had anger and quick to judgement issues too. When he finds out Jenna’s ex Steve kissed her he gets mad at Jenna and wants to hurt Steve, but he doesn’t listen to Jenna’s full explanation of what happened before reacting. His preteen daughter was funny in a moody teenage way.

An amazing romance between two old sweethearts that reunite making you feel all the emotions as Jackson tries to prove he isnt the kid he used to be and Jenna tries to heal from her brokeness. This interesting storyline has Jenna home after the death of her mother and her divorce from her cheating spouse. It includes, grief, pain, loss, guilt, twists and turns, forgiveness, hope, trust, happiness, faith and soo much more. It really made you believe there is hope and love as these complex, realistic, and well  developed characters with awesome chemistry as they face everything that life has thrown at them with a wonderful group of supporting characters. I voluntarily reviewed this ARC.

I really liked the realistic characters who have a second chance at love in this story. It is also a story of enemies to lovers. It will touch your emotions in so many ways. There is sorrow, hurt, pain, grief, hope, and happiness. I really liked how two of the main characters turn to God and find each other. It makes you believe there is hope and love after an unfaithful marriage and losing your mom. I also like Sandover Beach. It sounds like a fun place to live and raise a family. I received an advance copy of this book and I willingly chose to write an honest review.

This was an emotional read for me, both Jenna and Jackson tugged ar my heart and brought tears to my eyes. I loved Beau, Jimmy and Cash, they were great friends. Mercer intrigued me and I hope her story continues in another book. Loved Megan, she was great. I totally loved the lift scene, maybe because it was based on a real event ;-). I enjoyed how 'real' it felt, the struggles with faith, pain, grief, anger, loss, guilt and doubt, these were all mixed in with hope, faith, trust, happiness, forgiveness and love. I am voluntarily leaving this honest review after receiving an ARC.

The Sandover Beach Billionaire is the sixth book in The Billionaire Surprise Series. Although originally released as Sandover Beach Memories, Ms. St. Clair has updated the book by changing the cover, the title and the story. It’s about a woman, Jenna [she has had a horrible year], who goes home to clean up and sell her mother’s house. While Jenna deals with all the emotions of her mother’s death, she has to make peace with the turmoil that her life has become in the last year. I didn’t like Jenna very much until the story started explaining the reasons for her behavior. She seemed rude, impatient, and unforgiving. The story captured my interest and I couldn’t put the book down. Warning: have a box of tissue nearby. Since this is an Emma St. Clair novel, we have some romance and a HEA ending. I think that this is a really good book and feel that anyone who reads romance books or women’s fiction would enjoy reading The Sandover Beach Billionaire.

I love Emma St. Clair books. They never disappoint. I knew this book was being rewritten to incorporate it into a series. I was on pins and needles waiting for the release. The story between Jackson and Jenna involves the issue of grief (as Jenna is grieving the death of her mom along with the recent dissolving of her marriage). Jackson had a long hidden crush on Jenna, but never was able to pursue her due to a misunderstanding between them. (This is not spoiler info as we find all this out early in the book). The way these two find it into one another's hearts and arms is so engaging, creative, and sweet. You will love this book. I love ALL the Sandover books. The location and community of characters come to life. The more of these books you read, the more the people in the books feel like old friends. Read them all. You won't regret it!

Beaches, Second Chance Romance- A Few Of My Favorite Things!

Sandover Beach Memories is a first read of Emma St. Clair's for me. It came up as a recommendation for me though I can't remember when or where! But I am ever so glad I chose to follow through with this recommendation! It contains more then a few of my favorite things.
First, Sandover Beach Memories, is set on a beach island on the Carolina coast. I love the ocean and have long dreamed of owning a little beach cottage, a refuge and comfort to my achy soul. Also I love to escape to different beach locations, taking a virtual vacation, to places either I have never been, or wanting to return to but never have had the chance. With Emma St. Clair's magic words, I found myself getting lost in the Outer Banks of Carolinas! I went to Kitty Hawk long ago in my college days and have always wanted to return. Sandover Beach Memories instantly transported me back to that time and place. Beach memories indeed! And without the high winds, sand blowing or other things that sometimes mars an otherwise perfect vacation! Emma St. Clair presents a dreamscape of the rugged beauty of the Carolina coast that immediately soothed my soul like the ocean always does.
My next favorite thing is a love story that involves a second chance for two flawed human beings to fix the mistakes made in youth. Who hasn't dreamt of catching up with an old love, armed with the wisdom, maturity we only gain from time and experience? It is one of my favorite daydreams. Emma captures all the nuances of second chance romance in Sandover Beach Memories. I especially loved the expert way Emma wove the main ingredient in second chances, namely forgiveness, into this story. Emma St. Clair demonstrates excellent word craft skills as her characters slowly evolve through their grief and brokenness into people we readers come to love. It is easy to relate to these fictional beings, swept away on a tide of emotions, soul-searching, and healing, as it resonates with similar circumstances in real life. I couldn't help but highlight dialogue that sounded like conversations I have had in my own life. At times, I wondered if Emma St. Clair had read my mind!
This is a sweet romance with no explicit sex scenes. Though it takes real talent to make a goodnight kiss sizzle like Emma does in this story. In many ways the romance, and cherishing that Emma St. Clair portrays with words, causes more delicious tingles and body heat than some more erotic novels I have read. And I might add, Emma's love scenes do not distract from the overall story as with other novels where characters spend more time jumping each other in every room of the house then they do living life.
Emma St. Clair prescribes to the teachings of Jesus Christ and her writing does reflect this with Bible references, sermon notes and the like. I appreciate how she works these beliefs into the story naturally and subtley, fitting seamlessly into the plot. Emma does not preach as much as she as she teaches, showing rather than telling Christ's teaching of love, forgiveness and faithfulness. I found comfort in her gentle reminders of God's everlasting love. But again the story, the romance is what stands out in Sandover Beach Memories.
It is a shame that I can't remember where the recommendation for this novel came from. I would love to thank them personally for introducing me to Emma St. Clair and the Sandover Island series. The books are available in Kindle Unlimited so another favorite thing is how economical it is to read the whole series. So if someone hasn't recommended Sandover Beach Memories to you yet, let me be the one to encourage you to give this novel a try. It is well worth your time!

WHAT IT'S ABOUT

MY TAKE
I love stories with characters who have a history but aren't prepared for what life since has done to make them grow. Because, seriously, who wants to still be that kid in high school?

Jax and Jenna have some fun dynamics going on and a lot of baggage. I also love that in characters because I've been there myself. And it can be so hard. They struggle, but when push comes to shove, they make the right choices. And all I can take is Jax has some stalwart friends. Not many will take a hit for you--literally.

This is also a Christian story, and the characters live their faith. If that's not your thing, this won't be a book for you.

I really wish that I could give this author more stars - she's great at writing witty, funny and engaging banter, plus the stories themselves are good... except the characters are all caricatures and there are just way, way too many references to Christianity, the Bible, etc. Why so I say caricatures? Because in the few books of hers that I've read, the characters are always assholes before they become Christians, and totally redeemed after. I'm sorry, but in real life, there are plenty of assholey Christians and plenty of people who turn over a new leaf WITHOUT the help of religion. It's just not fun to read books that reduce people's journey to recovery as a magical one that coincides with them "finding" God. Human beings are infinitely more complicated and interesting than that, I wish that Ms. St. Clair would apply her writing talents to broadening her stories - instead of focusing so much on religion, write about the human experience. She already does in her books, but these experiences and stories are marred by the constant insertion of Christian values, bible verses, talk about god, praying, etc. There are so many people out there who aren't Christian who would enjoy reading these books so much more if they didn't feel like they were being constantly preached to.

Love Sandover

Especially Beau, Jimmy, and Jackson! The friendship between this guys (and Cash, even though we don't see much of him) is amazing. They're such a great group of guys. They have such a strong connection and will do anything for each other. Including brutal honesty and black eyes.

Jenna had it rough. But she was also kind of awful in the beginning. The mean things she was saying were just... mean. But Jackson, the sweetheart that he is, won her with kindness. Each jab hurt, but he chose not to respond in anger.
Jenna finally got to the roots of her bitterness and returned to God's grace, which is always heartwarming to see.

This one is definitely a slow burn type of book. They were attracted to each other in high school. But definitely weren't in the right places to be together. But after twenty years, they found a way to each other.

I do, however, wish that there was more about Megan. I wanted to see him interact with her more and hear more about them and her mom.

Very emotional and inspirational, clean romance. I love this community and their circle of support. Jackson and Jenna get a chance at a relationship. The woos of maturity & past experiences plus their stubborn pride have them clamming up, full of doubt. I think their insta-love overwhelms them and it's always easy to slide back into the contentment of not allowing your heart to take a another chance, Jenna even had a scripture reference to justify it. :) God has a plan for them, they just need a little support untangling the web and getting on board with it. I received an advance review copy at no cost and without obligation from the author.

Good storyline

This is a clean romance about people who had given up on love. Although Jackson and Jenna were happy together, they both kept waiting for the other shoe to drop, convinced that their love would eventually come to a dead end. It’s beautiful to watch them overcome that attitude and find their elusive HEA.
For me there as a little too much religious tones in the book. So my rating is 3.5 stars. Other than that it was a good read.
Rating: PG due to themes of divorce and infidelity.

Okay read

This book was enjoyable. Jena the main character really grated on me. She’s quite rude and mean, somethings she readily admits and laments. I understand that not every character is going to be totally likable all the time but there’s a fine balance of how long to keep that up before they start to change.

I couldn’t really get a handle on Jackson‘s background. The author paints him as being a hothead and impulsive, but it just didn’t quite stick when you’re taking it in context of He experiences that are shared about him from his past.

Love a good beach story

My favorite place on this earth is the beach. I could hear the waves crashing in the background, while reading this story. I could relate with Jenna’s insecurities. The book reminded me of my childhood home and the loss of my mom. Not in a sad way, but as a reminder of how life was back then. I enjoyed how Emma wrote about relationships struggles after the painful past.
Great book. Looking forward to reading the series.

Worth the wait

I remember thinking that this was a book (and series) I needed to check out, but I let my long TBR piled high with ya fantasy keep me from it. But when I finally decided to jump in, I loved it. Though I grew up in Houston and visited Galveston, not the Outer Banks of North Carolina, beach towns just feel familiar and happy to me. This was like a vacation I needed as I wait for real vacations to begin again post-2020.

A very well written story with nice storyline and plot. Likeable characters who develops well through the story. Amazing chemistry and lots of great subcharacters. I like the mix of emotional ups and downs, twists and turns, pain, doubts, grief, hope and happiness. A lot of moments where the readers heart are caught up in the story.
A story of nice length and one the I can recommend to others.

Sweet read

Heartbroken and tired of falling in love with men who don’t keep their relationships faithful, pulling through a divorce only to have to deal with the loss of her mother, Ms Monroe did not come home to fall in love. But a broken life met a broken elevator with a broken man and a God who can fix broken things.

Jackson Wells has loved Jenna Monroe for almost half his life. She can only remember him as the bad boy of her teen years. This is a fun story of him trying to convince her that he has changed. This is a well written story with interesting story line and well-developed characters. I enjoyed this story.

Sandover Beach Memories

I love the book and would recommend to anyone that like books of romance. I really like the underlying theme of continually trusting God. The characters were all really developed to the point of understanding their motives. I loved the elevator scene and the date night at the cottage house.

Loved this enemies to lovers, redemption story. You get to see both main characters learn to deal with a lot of real emotions and hurts, it’s realistic and full of hope, along with some good laughs too. I’d totally be the one to get myself in a similar elevator situation (you’ll know it when you read it!)

I wasn't sure what to expect from this book since the first books I read by Emma St. Claire were the Love Cliches series. This book was definitely more serious, with heavier themes. The writing is good, and there's good tension. It also carries Christian themes throughout the story, but it doesn't feel too preachy to me. I liked that she illustrated that you can rely on God through hard times.

sweet but cloying

I love all her other books but this one was a little cringy trying to proselytize while writing a romantic novel. It doesn’t mix well. And I’m a Bible-reading Christian who knows all those verses and hymns by heart and enjoys Christian literature. But for me, trying to do two different things at once was just a miss.

Get me book 2!!

I e said it before, I will say it again: Emma St. Clair is a fantastic writer!! This is the first “serious” book I’ve read of hers, but like her romantic comedies, it offers depth of her characters that make you feel like you know them personally.
Love the reality of struggles and the growth of faith. It’s a great read!!
