Ellipsis is an interesting book written by Jacob L White. The author creates a new world that is based on the creators and contains quite a lot of magic. He has a vivid imagination, being able to fabricate an entire world, which I find difficult. What peaked my interest in this book was the unique concept of it all.
The problem I had with it however was that it was rather slow. It took almost the first 20% of the book to get to anything paranormal really, and then it was only a short appearance of the mages. I think the reason the book is so slow is because the author does a lot of character development of Weaver, probably a little bit too much in my opinion, which at some point can make it feel like it is dragging out. The plot overall is very well developed and interesting, I just wish it wasn't as dragged out as it is, mostly due because of the inner monologue of sorts that happens with Weaver, the conflict he seems to have non-stop. I get it, he is going through a tough time but at some point one has to focus on the actual story and move along in the plot. There are also some editorial errors such as typos, missing words or misused words that should be fixed, that took away from this being an amazing book.
Weaver is an amazing guy. He will and does anything for the ones he loves, even if it will cost him his life. He is clearly conflicted by what is going on in his life and torn by the women that support him 100%. He has some amazing friends that also support him however they can!
All in all I think this book has incredible potential just needs a little tweaking, at least in my opinion. The book ended on a huge cliff hanger. With all that being said, I do want to know what will happen next so when the next one comes out I do want to read it!
I have received this book from the author for an honest review. (LoP, Lovers of Paranormal)
