The day my Mom dies is the day my life falls apart. I'm uprooted, sent to go live with an Aunt I barely know in a completely different state. I feel lost, and broken. Until he comes. Alec. Or better known as... Mr. Cooper. My history teacher. He makes me feel whole, complete. For the first time, my life is perfect. Until it's not. And then, I break.
This was an enjoyable read. The story was good. I actually like the story. It is about 17 year old Callie and her relationship with her history teacher, Mr. Alec Cooper. This is a good student-teacher romance, but I have read better ones.
Callie moved to Colorado to live with her aunt after her mom died. I thought Callie was a great character. It was relatable that she had to start over again in a new school and make new friends. Also, I thought she was smart and sassy. Mr. Cooper, aka Alec was an interesting character. He has a beard and a man bun, but he was possessive and passionate. They had great chemistry.
I do wish there was more of a build up to their relationship. It was an insta-love story, so I wish that there was more a slow burn quality to the relationship. It would have been much more engaging. The ending was sweet, and I am glad that the main MCs got their happily ever after. Overall, a great read.
I was enjoying this book at first then it kind of derailed. It turned into instalove. Like one week into school and they are already going at it, have barely said anything to each other. Soon after they are in love. There was no depth to the book or characters. Let’s just randomly throw in a miscarriage with an unknown pregnancy. (Would have been nice to have a warning on that for people who have dealt with miscarriages.) And he leaves her in the hospital in an abrupt and heartless way right after she finds out not only was she pregnant, she lost the baby. Then he randomly leaves her a secret note and he apologizes and they are back together, engaged, married and have a child. It seemed like the author just got tired of writing it 30% in and just rushed through the rest. The typos weren’t to bad in the beginning or even the middle, but they got worse and worse each chapter in. The last few chapters were riddled with a ton of typos.

This book was insta-love relationship that was so superficial and lacking in character depth all around that it was a chore to read through. But finish it I did. I even found the perfect quote from the book: "He keeps pulling me in, seemingly interested in me, and then backs off and acts like I'm some pesky kid." Pesky kid she is. She never matured, never grew as a character. Him? Yeah, I don't even know anything about him other than his family owned a ranch/farm and he has money. There was 0 depth.
This was a pretty quick read, and it was fun to read, but it was just too unrealistic for me. I know this is fiction, but everything just happened too fast. The insta-love wasn’t believable and there just wasn’t enough build-up for me. Also, the characters lacked a ton of depth to the point where I didn’t feel like I knew them and I didn’t feel like I would like them if I did know them. The story definitely has potential, but it just didn’t hit the mark for me as is.
The was a good story with great characters. I was happy then I was sad then I was mad then I was happy. I mean the emotional roller coaster was insane. I really did enjoy this and thought it was well written.
I’m not even finished with it and I’m so irritated. She’s changed the eye color of mr copper from green to chocolate and I think she changed the twins names from mya and Leah to Ava and Leah.
