I really loved the first couple of books in this serial. And then there came the Blight and it got away from that fun adventure vibe that I loved with its attention to how the dragons developed. Ever since the books became all about facing off with the Blight, I haven’t liked the books as much, especially the previous book that was mostly just non-stop battle scenes (boring!). It should be mentioned that though the first book started off at a Middle-Grade aimed audience (like the first of the Harry Potter books), this one is definitely for a more YA audience touching on drinking and sexual situations (though there’s no actual sex scene in this). The scene of Athar and Eist felt wildly out of character, for both of them. And I’m still annoyed that she doesn’t blame Athar at all for pulling her back in the previous book, again and for trying to keep controlling her into not diving headlong into situations on her own. I did like that she isn’t going to listen to the word of her ghostly parents and she’s still got hope and a determination to do what she feels is right. The title of this book is called Time Warp, so it shouldn’t come to anyone’s surprise that there is time travel involved. I loved that it was non-linear. So many times I’ve seen indie books where the characters travel in time sequentially, visiting people in the past in the order from when they last left (like in Outlander and Somewhere in Time). I love the stories where it’s out of order which sounds more true to time travel, since in theory you really could go back however far you want at that particular moment. But because of that it did make things a whole lot more complicated and confused, with the characters being confused themselves. This ends on an abrupt cliffhanger leading to the next book.
Summary: Simple coming of age type book, potential for better things so I'll keep going in this series, not sure about dragons. We'll see. Some of the characters are a bit 2 dimensional. Book 7 continues the theme, a bit more on magic and the blight
Plotline: Very simple plot for this first, very short, book. Ditto book7
Premise: Dragons. Magic and the blight...
Writing: Simple, descriptive, light
Ending: Well highly predictable, title gives it away really.
This is book #7 of the Brindle Dragon series, and it's a doozy. In this one, our girl Eist and her best friend Dille go back in time in search of brindle dragon eggs to steal. The decide that they need more brindle dragons to have a chance to win the battle against the Blight once and for all. They take Fior with them to do the heavy lifting. On their first stop, they find another brindle dragon, a female, attached to a formidable woman who they recruit to raise in seclusion the eggs they steal. Then they make another time jump and go back even farther. This is where they meet Zenith, who invites himself along for their next jumps. Things end up in a cliff hanger when they meet Yacrist in their own time, a Yacrist possessed by the Blight. I enjoyed this book a lot. It's the first time travel opus that has ever made sense to me.
I truly hope that this series that I have really enjoyed so far doesn’t get stretched out for too much longer. Hopefully book 8 will be the conclusion and everything will be neatly wrapped up. Too many times these get side tracked and just don’t know how to finish gracefully. Please don’t ruin it by doing “this quest or that dilemma” and rambling on for 5 more books. If it can conclude beautifully in the next book please do it.
This is the 7th book in the Brindle Dragon series. Each of the books are good and exciting, but none of them stand alone. However the series is good fantasy with no bad language and no sex. In this book, Einst and Dille are trying to discover how to save Brindle dragon eggs in the past so that there would be enough to defeat the enemy.
Eist, Fior and companions have to find a way to defeat the Blight! After the tragedy of losing one of their own, the group has to work even harder to get it together. . Another action packed and exciting book. Full of friendship, love and tense danger. I loved it. Now on to the next book!
This is a great story and has outstanding characters which I love. Them coming of age and growing as individuals makes the telling of this story even better. Other than that little blup with the short story not being listed (cause it was a continuation of the story and was not any where to be found), this is an outstanding series. Great Reading Everyone!
But it's the only way to save the world. Eist and Dille figure out what has happened to the Brindle Dragons and why. Now they need to make a plan and implement it, with the help of some old and new friends. A fascinating episode in the story of The Brindle Dragon!
I borrowed this book on amazon Unlimited but after reading book 5, I decided not to bother. The rating reflects that, not the book - it may be amazing. Judge for yourself
Love this author .How in the world are Einst &Dille going to get out of this. But it is magic. I believe this author .Has a great imagination. The story is very consistent.Read all the books you will enjoy.
What a story. Back and forth through time, collecting what’s needed to win against the Blight. All seems good and everything is in place, until they get back to there own time. Grab yourself a copy and lose yourself in a fabulous series. Highly recommended.
I got a bit lost in the time warping explanations but still a good story. Thought the book should have just kept going rather than another book installment, now looking forward to the next one
Warped! A wonderfully convoluted story as Eist and her friend make some surprising discoveries that lead to a time traveling plan to save Brindle dragons from extinction. New allies are enlisted and skills learned.
Jada Fisher has done it again! Characters you love and hate doing battle. Dragons and time travel and surprising suspenseful action. This series will draw you in!
I really hate time travel. That alone brought down my rating. The plot is still too much on the action side for me, but the characters and the plot are still solid.
